Located in Uwharrie National Forest, the New Forest features open meadows among stands of pine and mixed hardwoods. Campsites are far apart, each unique and offer the opportunity to commune with nature, and experience camping like it should be, emersed in nature with the opportunity to disconnect from the trappings of our modern, hectic world. This area is one of the richest archeological areas in the entire southeast United States. The location of the first real gold rush, and rich in folklore and bootlegging history, old homesteads and family graveyards are scattered among the hills. Old roadbeds and logging trails abound in the 800 acres of Uwharrrie National Forest directly adjacent to the New Forest Property making for miles of hiking opportunities, wildlife viewing, birdwatching. A 3/4 mile hike to the Taylor Family graveyard is marked with ribbons to guide you to one of the of the many family graveyards. *** A new fun feature for kids is the introduction of our dear friend Debbie Beasley"s art to the trails here in the New Forest. Scattered along the many trails are rocks painted by the one and only Debbie Beasley with cute fluorescent/3-D scenes of nature. Children can keep them as souvenirs from their New Forest camping adventure, or enjoy them while here then re-hide them for other children to find. ❤️ Come see for yourself. If you are looking for a modern, crowded campground this isn't it. However if you want a beautiful, rustic experience in nature, with a few basic amenities and with access to Uwharrie National Forest come see what others have enjoyed so much.

Streamside Remote is a true minimalist pack in site with a few comfort amenities, located next to a stream in a mixed hardwood Forest. Water, firewood and a primitive pit style toilet are provided. Tent site is small 8'x8' approximately, limiting the max # of persons to 2. The site is literally adjacent to 800 acres of Uharrie National Forest. The perfect primitive site to disconnect and reconnect with nature. NOTE: This is a 1/4 mile PACK-IN site with no vehicle access.

I just spent a weekend tent camping at Charles and Bonnie’s. If you are looking for peace and quiet on a huge private site then their beautiful farm is the place to go. It is primitive camping but they are so gracious they supply each site a five gallon jug of water and a stack of firewood!! I camped with my little dog (I’m a Senior Mom) while my daughter backpacked in Uwharrie. I felt totally safe and Bonnie checked on the campers each day. I’ll definitely go back!!!!

Chuck’s land was the perfect place to relax and spend the evening star gazing by the Uwharrie National Forrest! Everything about this place was perfect and Chuck was the kindest host. Would recommend to anyone!

We loved our stay at the North Sky site in the New Forest. The sites give ample space/privacy and choice of where to put your tent in each area. There was plenty of wood and water provided for our stay. There was also some walking trails on the property to check out the creek and part of the woods. Charles was responsive and showed us to our site and everything was smooth for our short last minute trip. Thanks for letting us stay we will be back!

We loved our stay on Charles’s farm! With 2 cars and 3 tents, the Meteor View 2 site was perfect for both of our families to feel like there was still enough space. We’ll definitely stay here again.

The whole experience was beyond incredible! We got to stay in our own little meadow and cook over the fire pit, chase fireflies, stargaze, hike, play flashlight tag and play music each night. Our kids didn’t get on a device once and we made tons of family memories. We will definitely be back!!

Amazing experience! The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. He assisted us with setting up the firepit and gave us a thorough tour of all the amenities. Everything was smooth and safe. I highly recommend this site for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing and well-managed camping trip.

This property is a special spot! The views of the night sky are great, along with the opportunity to see many different kinds of wildlife. We saw turkey, deer, and various reptiles, birds and insects. Whippoorwills singing into the night, and sounds of the Barred owl make it or a peaceful evening at the campfire. Plenty of wood, and water was provided for our stay. Charles is a very nice guy to deal with, and we felt welcomed immediately upon arrival. He checked on us via text make sure we didn't need more water on our second evening, which I though was thoughtful. I'll be back to this beautiful piece of property soon!

Yet another wonderful stay at this magnificent property. Charles and his family are very welcoming and provide more than we could ask for. We hosted an annual outdoor event for our group and as before, Charles was enthusiastic to receive us and even offered additional support. I can't thank Charles enough. Many of our guests were excited to return for a future camping trip.

This is our third time staying here. We were in desperate need of a few quiet, easy days tent camping, and knew we could find it here. Meteor one site is more hilly and farther from the outhouse, but has good shade mid-day when you need it. My daughter prefers this one for some reason. Charles is always kind and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Charles had an amazing camp area. The night time view was amazing. His areas are clean, nice, well maintained and very peaceful. He was just an absolute amazing host. We can't wait to come back.

Outstanding spot! The camp is in a gorgeous little meadow tucked away with a great view of the night sky. It’s very peaceful and quiet. Definitely staying here again— and often. And Chuck is awesome!!

This is our second time staying here. It’s safe and quiet. You can feel like you are in the middle of nowhere with the benefit of wood, potable water, and an outhouse. We loved it again!

Always a great time on Charles’ property! Big open view of the sky and walking trails around the property as well. Huge bonus having the provided fire wood, water and outhouse. This was our 2nd time and we’ll definitely be back again!

What a great spot to camp! Chuck was friendly and super informative about his land and the surrounding attractions. The spot was very clean and beautiful with a nice wide open view of the stars. It was the most room we’ve ever had to camp. We also were given firewood and water as well. I would highly recommend staying here, it is a treat.

We had a really nice time camping on Charles’s land. The campsites are clean, comfortable, and stocked with drinking water and firewood. There are some cool walking/hiking trails around the property that were super fun to explore. Would love to come back!
