Trees are tight but our truck/pop up tent on the bed fit well. Lots of wildlife. Great eggs and inexpensive.

Amazing Camping Area!

Had a great time here! The place was amazing, and I really enjoyed my stay. When we arrived, we were greeted and guided in by Vader — an awesome, playful, and friendly dog! There were signs leading to the campsite, but he ran ahead the whole way like our personal guide. The property was beautiful, and Patricia was kind and very helpful. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I’d highly recommend this place to anyone. I’m definitely coming back!

Great place to stay, Vader rocks

Vader was easily the best thing about this camp! He made us so happy and even slept with us all night (at least I think, he fell asleep near us and woke me up with some nose kisses since we were hammock camping 😂). He was one of the best trained dogs I’ve ever met. If you like dogs this is the place to be. My boyfriend even wanted to drive back after we left Wilmington to say goodbye to Vader again. We haven’t tried the eggs we got yet but super excited to. Patricia gave easy instructions to follow and the area was very clean. Great area for hammock camping. The trees were marked and easily to follow - we got in super late. You can hear a bit of car noise from the camp area, but it was very very minimal. Our low Toyota Corolla did give us a bit of a scare getting back there because one piece of wood was jutted up on the trail, but otherwise lower cars will be fine.

Patricia was a phenomenal host. It was easy to get to the camp spot and the instructions for using the power was set out for us to see with detailed pictures so you could see exactly what you needed it was fantastic. The bed was super comfortable. The dog Vader was super friendly he loved to come over and say hello. We had everything we needed and more. There were also a lot of chickens so it’s was very enjoyable to just sit outside the camper and watch them, She has a very lovely and large yard. I brought two toddlers with us and I’m really happy she didn’t mind them running around a bit. Patricia is the best!

Super cute!

Super cute RV a little less than an hour from the beach. Their dog is adorable and will become your best friend when you are there. Patricia is incredibly sweet and accommodating. Will be renting every-time we visit Wilmington!

A great affordable little spot

Very quiet and private! Plenty of space to spread out! If there were people in the other camp sites the night I stayed I couldn't hear them, only the sounds of nature :-) Outhouse was clean, no smell from the composting toilet, bring your own handwashing setup and you're all set, host provides water a short trip from the camp! The way in was definitely a bit tight, take care if you're inexperienced with offroad driving, smaller car definitely helps, we got a Nissan rogue in just fine which is about 72 inches wide, anything much larger may have trouble. Was very nice having Vader at our camp occasionally, he's a very cool and sweet dog! Do come in slowly, he does like to run around the car so just keep an eye on where he is! Given it's in the middle of the woods, there are the native banana spiders who have webs up all around and are quite large, if you're not used to them just remember they won't leave their webs and won't hurt you, just leave them alone and they'll leave you alone :-)

5/5 stars for Vader. If you dont like dogs then dont waste his time with this site because he deserves all the love for the good work he does. He guided us out to our site, kept us company as we set up, and guided us out the next day when we were leaving. Truly one of the sweetest dogs I have ever encountered. The site itself is really nice for those who like to just pitch a tent and go rustic for a day. We went during the tropical storm, but the trails and camping space were sturdy enough that nothing flooded or got muddy. Do NOT disregard the tiny car warning, some tree gaps only have a space of about 6 1/4 feet. My Jeep Patriot fit fine but it was mirror to mirror in some gaps. The Host was extremely kind and the property is easy to find! Only about 30 minutes from Wrightsville Beach and there are 24/7 gas stations 5 minutes down the road if you are seeking a full bathroom. Highly recommend this place!

Perfect for what we needed, Patricia was accessible and pleasant and we didn't need anything. Vader was such an added bonus, our baby loved him and he greeted us every morning and escorted us around. Clean and safe, bed was comfortable, no complaints.

Had an amazing time at The Hollow! There is plenty of room to park, setup, and have a fire pit. Vader did an amazing job of leading us to our campsite. I would highly recommend this if you’re heading to the beach for the weekend and need a place to stay. Thank you Patricia (and Vader)!

We were met by the owner and her dog. The dog kept us company and escorted us out. lol in all seriousness, very quiet and peaceful. If you absolutely have to have wifi you better bring it. We were content in the quiet. We will be back

We loved the site! Our spot was in a nice, flat clearing in beautiful pine forest. We could hear all kinds of birds as we woke up. Patricia was very helpful and made sure we found the spot as we got there after dark. Great spot!

Excellent stay.

Just what I needed. Calm and relaxing. RV did the trick. Had everything I needed. Cool area to walk around. Nice breeze. Patricia was excellent with quick responses to any questions I had and the dog Vader is a champion. Easy drive to Leland anytime I needed anything. Did notice some really cool tent spots on the property as well. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Great spot for camping or glamping

Patricia’s land is beautiful. The campsites are woodsy and private. The Sundance RV we stayed in was comfy and well supplied. Patricia generously donated a couple of items we forgot. Also, we were able to have a few friends join us for fun around the campfire one night. We really enjoyed the trails for walking our dog, who was welcomed by Patricia and her dog, Vader.

Overall a good spot. Patricia was very nice and accommodated my moving to a different location on the property. getting a vehicle up and mini teardrop to pine grove was a bit tricky. but the closer spot was no problem.

We miss understood that the site can accommodate a 22’ RV. We have a 22’ travel trailer and could not navigate the site and had to back all the way out. However, Patricia was very accommodating by allowing us to camp near her home for two nights. Based on comparison to other Hip Camp locations this is definately more primitive.

Overall I wanted to get away for a couple days peace of mind no stress be able to take a nice hot shower enjoy relaxation with my dogs maybe turn on the television for some entertainment I couldn't do any of those things since I had arrived no electricity no hot water to take a shower and then with that being said I think that the place was sort of haunting and the reason I say that is the electricity the lights in the RV were flickering even she tried to hook up a generator to that a generator would keep electric running not turn it off she had a full tank of gas in that generator and immediately within 5 minutes it shut off I believe that it kind of creeped me up out staying there besides everything else that was not working on top of that there was a TV that I couldn't watch because there was no remote and apparently it was just Wi-Fi so it was an older TV set so she didn't indicate that at the time on on her the website but what I did some further digging not too long ago somebody was killed off of Old Mill Creek road and then her body was dumped in a black bag on that road I may be wrong I might just be paranoid but it was definitely not something I'd ever want to experience again in my life I was terrified and very paranoid now she ended up moving me to her personal RV so I could finish staying there she gave me over half of my refund back but when I got to the personal RV I couldn't take a shower there because it was leaking water in the bathroom so the whole experienc

We didn’t get to stay the whole time due to me getting called into work, but it was cozy and quiet and that’s what we needed. My dog got to interact with some other dog friends and that was cool and the farm fresh eggs were an added bonus. We would definitely come back probably more in the summer when it’s not as cold and there’s more to do.
