Perfect escape in Pisgah forest

The Hideaway Tiny Home large deck!

We absolutely loved our stay at this charming little cabin tucked away in the woods pretty much right on the side of Mt. Mitchell. The setting was incredibly serene and beautiful—just what we needed to unplug. During our stay, some epic summer thunderstorms rolled through, and the temperature dropped by what felt like 20 degrees. In late June, we found ourselves reaching for jackets and sweatpants at night! There’s a hiking trail right off the property that leads to a stunning waterfall. The trail was a bit of a challenge due to damage from Hurricane Helene, but still 100% worth it. The nearby Blue Ridge Parkway was closed during our visit, so some of the local trail access was limited—but we didn’t mind the short drive over to the Linville Falls area for more exploring. The cabin itself was just as described—simple, clean, and stocked with all the basics you need. One big plus: the tankless hot water heater! Perfect if you’re traveling with a group and don’t want to worry about running out of hot water. Bob was super responsive and helpful throughout our stay. There are also some great options for tent camping on the property. We scoped out a peaceful creekside spot and a more primative cabin. You can hear the creek from almost anywhere on the land—it was the perfect white noise to fall asleep to. We’re already planning our next trip back. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to disconnect and enjoy the beauty of the mountains!
