Embrace your inner Boondock and unwind in one of our primitive sites located in Dobson, North Carolina. We’re just five minutes off I-77 in Surry County and approximately 15 minutes from the Virginia state line. You’ll be able to take in views of the Western Blue Ridge Mountains and fall asleep under a blanket of stars right from your site.
Nearby activities include hiking, biking greenways, white water rafting, canoeing, fishing and wildlife preserves.
Dobson is home to Shelton Vineyards, the Mitchell River, and Fisher River Park. Pilot Mountain State Park is approximately 30 minutes to our East and Stone Mountain State Park is approximately 30 minutes to our West. And the re-vamped North Wilkesboro Motor Speedway is approximately a 50 minute drive.
If you’re a fan of the Andy Griffith Show, make sure you take the 20 minute drive and visit Mt. Airy (aka Mayberry). It’s historic downtown boast micro breweries, quaint shops, unique restaurants, antiques, museums, and so much more. And if your lucky, you may catch a glimpse of Barney patrolling downtown, keeping it safe from bank robbers, jaywalkers, dynamite eating goats, and escaped criminals and such. You can even arrange a ride along in a vintage replica of Mayberry’s patrol car.
Take a step back in time and stroll the downtown’s of surrounding historic towns like Elkin, Jonesville, and North Wilkesboro. There are too many wonderful restaurants, wineries, microbreweries, and museums to mention. And depending on the time of the year, they host farmers markets with local produce, movies under the stars, festivals, car shows, food truck rodeos, and so much more. All have their own Facebook pages that you can visit to find their upcoming events.Our sites are primitive. Unfortunately, there is no bathroom or bath house provided
Power is not provided. You are allowed to use a generator as long as it’s not disruptive to other guests.
Portable water and a dump station is available

Trash cans are provided. Guests are asked to keep, and leave, site clean at all times.
There are two fields that are fairly level. Vehicles and RVs must use these areas. Tents are allowed on any terrain within the 10+ acre property.
Weather permitting, a fire ring and wood can be provided. Campfires are not allowed during dry weather, or no burn ordinances.
We are located off a rural road and ask that pets be leashed for their safety.
With prior approval by host, early check-in is possible if site is empty the date of your arrival.
We are located beside a church and ask you be respectful on Sundays prior to noon, or during any church activities, as not to disrupt their services.
Illegal drugs or public intoxication are prohibited.
Hosts reserve the right to ask any guest to leave that are disruptive or violating any campsite policies.
