We really enjoyed our stay at the Shady Creek location! While you can see the other properties from your spot (Creekside is a close neighbor to the right), the overall view and access to the creek was beautiful and peaceful and the visitors are respectful. I was thankful for the amenities: Blair provided access to a porta-potty, power station, fan, and Keurig machine. We also paid for firewood ahead of time and it was waiting for us when we arrived. You are also very close to Pisgah National Park and Lake James. My two complaints are 1) the padlocked entrance gate is a bit cumbersome. I appreciate that the space is being protected from unwanted visitors, but as a chronic worrier, I felt uneasy thinking about having to go through that process in an emergency. 2) you can hear cars passing on the road behind your tent. It’s not heavy traffic, but noticeable if you were looking for a quieter nature escape. Overall, I would rate it 4.7 stars and would definitely stay at one of the Tanglewood properties again.

Beautiful place, we just misunderstood the listing slightly and weren’t prepared. We left the evening we arrived due to no lighting and spider issues. Again, we misunderstood the listing. Overall it is as described.

Hilltop Safari Tent

This is a fantastic site. It is clean, well cared for and the sites are private/secluded. It is also convenient as a basecamp to many destinations in western, NC. We will definitely stay here again.

Lovely, safe, secluded. Wish we'd been doing more than a one night stay on our way through. Clearly a great spot in a charming area. Falling asleep to the creek sound is hard to beat. Communication and access was all smooth. Thanks!

This was a great spot. Arrived when it was raining but had no trouble getting in and set up. There are neighboring sites close by but I still felt like I had privacy. My dog and I looooved the creek and its close proximity to the tent. My one night there was rainy but the creek sounds and rain on the tent gave me some of the best sleep ever, and we woke up to beautiful weather the next morning. I’d stay here again! 10/10

We absolutely love camping on Blairs property. It's beautiful, private and serene. Blair is very attentive to the needs of his guests and goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. This is now a family tradition for us! Highly recommend!

Buckeye Bank

Camped here with our tent and it was great! The Buckeye Bank is right on the creek, has a ton of space, and is nicely spaced from the other camping spots. Will definitely be camping here again.

We loved our stay at the Creekside Safari tent! Our family loved the access to the creek and was very relaxed. A big storm came in and we enjoying the rain and hearing it in the tent. Kids are ready to go back!

Hilltop Safari Tent

This was our kids first time camping (two families with kids ages 18 months, 4, and 6). Perfect spot. The big kids and dads pitched tent and the moms and babies slept in the safari tent. Perfect size spot, super clean porta potty, short walk to a lovely little creek that was perfect for the kids to play in. Can’t say enough great things!

Buckeye Bank

Buckeye Bank was a beautiful campsite right by the creek. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of running water was incredibly peaceful. And it provided a great space for our kiddos to explore while staying cool during the day. We ended up having some stormy weather, which made things a little harder for us novice campers. But even with the rain I would still recommend camping on Blair’s property at the Buckeye Bank site.

Blair was a fantastic host, friendly and quick to respond to any messages through the app. The campsite itself was beautiful, peaceful, and felt very private. The sites are spaced out nicely, giving you a real sense of seclusion, which we really appreciated. While there are no showers on-site, we enjoyed a refreshing dip in the nearby creek to freshen up. Overall, our group had a great experience and would highly recommend this campsite!

Loved the stay! The tent is very cozy and smells like fresh wood inside, sleeping to the sounds of the stream was amazing. Lots of fireflies around, so beautiful! Too bad we arrived late and couldn’t make the most of our stay by making a fire, but the fire pit is right there and looks perfect. Communication was great, clear instructions, easy to get there. The only improvement I’d suggest is putting more lights outside (I noticed 2 lightbulbs on the tent but they didn’t work).

Blair was an outstanding host, ensuring we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. He greeted us personally and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. When we encountered an issue with yellow jackets under our picnic table, he was quick to assist, making our experience even more enjoyable. We stayed at Peppers Point and loved being right by the creek—it was such a peaceful and scenic spot! Our family had a wonderful time and is already looking forward to our next visit to Tanglewood. Highly recommend!

Blair has done a great job preparing his land for creekside camping, from safari tent sites, tiny house and tent sites. We have a small rv that fit quite nicely in Brookside site.

Hilltop Safari Tent

Awesome campsite and the Safari tent was next level camping. Cooked a great campfire meal and was lucky enough to have a late night rain to sleep to. My kind of camping! Blair put me on a great hike, a cool excursion up the mountain to the orchard and a perfect midday lunch spot.
