This property is 180 acres of woods and mountains with streams and ponds. Beautiful settings. If you like hiking in the mountains this will definitely hit the spot. YO can fish in the ponds it has blue gills and catfish. I also added grass carp there as part of weed management. This used to be an abandoned farm which I want to bring back to life. The site offers three luxury large Safari Style Tents and 4 Pioneer wagons. All tents are far away from each other to provide privacy and freedom of going Wild (still remaining civilized in your manners and careful attitude to Nature around you). Tent 1 is in the Forrest itself and it is pretty cook and serene. Tent 2 is on the top of a rocky hill overlooking the forest. Tent 3 is the most remote and closest to the ponds. It has most of the open space around it, and can be a great place for parties. We are working on making the sites and the area more comfortable, but I do not want to make it a manicured park. I want it to remain wild and still offer comfortable stay. The farm is work in progress. Eventually it will be an Ostrich farm. and have other animals too. The closest town - Lenoir is about 12 miles away . Closest Grocery store (Dollar General) - about 3 miles away. Closest Gas station - 2 miles away. Professional Tennis court, Basketball court and large kids playground are in a public park within - 5 minute drive. Lenoir has restaurants, shopping, etc. Hickory is a larger town about 25 minutes drive. Hickory Lake is a large reservoir with marina where you can rent a boat and it also offers a good game fishing. Nice swimming beach access on Lake Hickory 13 miles ( 20 Minutes) from here: Lake Hickory Wittenburg access area (Wittenburg Access Area, 175 Wildlife Access Rd, Hickory, NC 28601) Asheville is 1:25 hrs to the West, Charlotte is 1:25 hr to the East. There are couple of Ski resorts 45 minutes to an hr away.

Tent 2 King of the Mountain Camping

100%
(7)
Safari tent · Sleeps 6
This Tent 2 is called “King of the Mountain”, because it is placed at the top of the rocky hill, that I call “A killer’s hill” because only a tough off road vehicle can make it up that hill. The prize for making it up the hill is a front row parking. If you have a regular car you can park at the bottom of the hill. Just a short walk up the hill and you will see a beautiful tent with a cozy campground with flowering Mountain Laurel and a carpet of wildflowers on the hill slope. The mountain view that opens up from the deck make you feel like “the world is yours”. There are no other tents or houses that you can see around you. This place is just for you, your friends and family. The Tent itself is a large luxury Tent that has four beds ( cots). The Tent sits on a deck facing the view, where you can sit and watch the clouds go by. Off the deck there is a large picnic area with fire pit and picnic table. There is a single person hammock fitted in the middle of tree bunch. There is also a large hammock, from which you can supervise your kids or husband and tell them what to do, while trying to keep a delicate balance (on the hammock). The toilet and the shower cabin, are behind the Tent. The shower is an outdoor shower. The toilet is a Poo-Pee Toilet system: you poop in one toilet and you pee in the other. After you finished doing #2 - drop some sawdust in the hole! We provide some starter firewood, but there is plenty more in the forest. if you think there is not enough firewood in the forest - more can be purchased at the barn. Besides the Tent itself you have 180 acres of land to roam around. Hiking trails, Fishing pond. Mountain views. The civilization in the form of the town of Lenoir is about 11 miles away. There you can find all regular brand shops, fast food, restaurants etc. The town of Hickory offers more choices and also a very large lake with several marinas, where you can get a boat. There is a Tennis court in a community park about 5 -8 minutes away by car. Asheville is about 1.5 hr away to the West and Charlotte is about 1.5 hr away to the East. The nearest airport is Concord Regional Airport, 115 km from the accommodation.

Mountain Getaway. Safary Tent 3

Safari tent · Sleeps 6
This Tent is located in the most charming place. My favorite place. The tent is sitting at the edge of a sunny meadow. Surrounded by forest. A picturesque path leads on the top of the ridge to the ponds nearby. The Location is the most remote from everything. And there is enough space to set additional tents or have a nice birthday party.

Tent 1 - Forrest Cump.

Safari tent · Sleeps 6
Tent for rest in the forest. Private Luxury tent in the woods. Tent1. The Tent 1 located on top of the mountain, deep in the forest and surrounded by mature trees. When you are there, it feels like you are in a magic forest far away from everything, yet it is pretty short walk to the driveway. To get to the Tent you need to drive along the private drive way and park at the edge of the field. Then there is a short walk from that parking spot to the tent probably 300 -400 feet up a gentle hill. It is possible to drive directly to the Tent 1 and park right there, but if you want to do that you have to have a 4 wheel drive off road vehicle. Because there is a steep rockface slope that needs to be climbed at one point. That slope I call “A Killers Hill”, because it will test your car and your driving skills.

Pioneer Wagon Settlement - Wagon 4

100%

Safari tent · Sleeps 3
Starting from Philadelphia, the Great Wagon Road turn down South and went into North Carolina and further down to Georgia and another branch to Tennessee and further West. By all accounts it was a rough road. So the Waggoneers had to stop and enjoy a rest in a beautiful mountain settings . You have a chance to experience the same beautiful mountain setting and spend a night or two in a Pioneer wagon, looking in the dark night sky with myriads of starts, cooking food on fire, exploring surrounding mountains, fishing and gathering berries and mushrooms. As the time passed the wagons now have electricity, refrigerator and air-conditioner. But the road is still rough and the bugs are still invading the wagons and make you appreciate sterile, bug free, environment of big cities. (Waggoneers had to deal with these seasonal bug invasions and so you have to as well, as part of the outdoor living experience) There are four wagons on site, each with individual fire pit and water barrel. There is also a communal gathering area with large firepit and Flintstone era thrones. This is a great place to spend a relaxing weekend or holiday. Or a get together location to celebrate a birthday or just have a nice party by the huge communal fire place. For families with kids this will be an unforgettable place to enjoy outdoors. There is a play ground for small children, set of games, and a court to play badminton or ball games. Besides the camp area there are 180 mountainous acres for you to explore with hiking trails, ponds and streams. Be aware that this is a rural forested mountain area. There are wild animals around. There are also insects. Different seasons – different insects. They will be bugging you. ( DISCLOSURE: The Actual Great Wagon Road did not actually go through Lenoir. Western path went more to the North and the Southern path went through Charlotte. But people did get to Lenoir somehow, so the story above might still be true)
