Our Spa and Geodesic Dome Planetarium is now available for booking! Our Pond is now OPEN! We are a constantly evolving location, Our goal is to provide a genuine secluded camping experience immersed in nature in a mountainous forest with privacy and well spaced out secluded camp sites. We also have minimal light pollution, so our skies are beautiful for viewing the stars. We offer trails through natural wooded habitat with hidden gems of nature. Wildlife viewing throughout. There are feed locations to increase viewing opportunities. A creek on the property is lovely for walking. Centered between Charlotte and Asheville we are within your reach! We offer primitive tent camping, Glamping Tents a tiny cabin and Geodesic Dome. Lodging locations have a private Mountain View, fire pit area, Queen bed, Night Stand (built in phone charger), Desk area, interior and exterior lighting, heater and fan (powered by solar system). As a part of Starlight Hills Campground you have access to filtered drinking water, common overlook (w/ BBQ pits & picnic tables), trails, bathroom and showers. Welcome to bring all your furry family members ❤️. Please Note: Don’t forget to add on your Hipcamp Weather insurance! As we know, mother nature can always be troublesome.     Starlight Hills was exactly the kind of quiet, low-key spot we were looking for. We stayed at site 4, which was spacious and felt private: plenty of room for our tent and gear without feeling crowded by neighboring sites. The lack of light pollution made for genuinely incredible stargazing, worth staying up for. The common overlook area with the BBQ pits was a nice touch for hanging out after our hike. Showers were clean with great hot water, which we didn't expect to be as nice as it was for a campground. A couple of practical notes for future guests: the access road is gravel/dirt and uphill, so take it slow, especially at night. Our one con was road noise being a little loud at night, so bring earplugs or a white noise app if you're a light sleeper. We camped with our dogs and had no issues; the trails were great for them too. Would absolutely come back.
