It was a very nice campsite. It is close to the road and a large power transformer, but it’s also right on the river and the facilities are clean. The biggest issue for me was the charge for an additional person. There were only two of us on the campsite and I was charged $60 for the other guest. The host was friendly and maybe it’s just an app quirk that I’m not familiar with but it left a bad taste in my mouth when I looked at the bill.

The river was Beautiful. Even though Helene brought ao much rocks, it will still good. He setup the sites nicely. They were cozy. I love that he laid it out with rocks. It was raining on and off but the rocks make it bearable to stay around. Thank you!

The South Toe River Sites had some real positives, particularly the well designed gravel parking pads that were level with accent lighting, a nice fire pit, and marked sites. We found the site less private than expected, with neighboring campers about 40-50 yards away in direct line of sight. If you're looking for solitude, this may not be the best fit, but it could work well for campers who prioritize convenience. The river was accessible, but getting to the water requires traversing over about 60 yards of dirt and rocks. This may be difficult for some campers who may be expecting the water to be directly next to the camping area. The campsite is easy to get to and sits next to a two lane country road that, as the host noted, quiets down around 10pm. Having cars go by late at night about 20 feet from our van didn’t bother us, but it may be unsettling to others. There is also an electrical substation across the street with an impressive streetlight. The dull electrical hum and ambient lighting may detract from the stargazing and river sounds for those who come here for that.
