Perfect place for a quiet getaway.

Perfect for a quiet getaway. The place was decorated so well. I was in awe every where I looked. It was just perfect. Sarah provides everything you could possibly need. Road and driveway could be challenging if you don't have an SUV or truck. Very private! Definitely going back!!

This is by far one of the best places I have ever stayed at on any rental platform! All the comforts of home and then some! My best friend and I desperately tried to think of one thing that we would change and couldn’t come up with a single one. All of the reviews I read about how great this place was nailed my experience on the head. I even tried to stay a couple extra days but it was already booked. Sarah has a few great and unique home in a beautiful and safe neighborhood. As a single female I am often leery renting a place in an area I am not familiar with but I had absolutely zero concerns. Enjoyed our time at the lake and all of the other things the area has to offer.

Our family truly loved the peaceful cottage and land. The plants and decor made the cottage cozy and welcoming. Our kids loved staying in the upstair loft and we all enjoyed the wildlife up close. We will definitely be back and it was sad to leave. We spent one day in brevard and enjoyed the cottage the rest of our stay.

A Lovely Retreat
Sacred Cottage is by far the most beautiful place I have ever rented! My friends and I loved reading on the screen porch and wandering through the moss garden. The cottage is beautifully decorated, the beds and furniture are really comfortable, and the kitchen has all of the cookware you might need. We spent a day paddling on the lake and another up at Sliding Rock and Pisgah. This was a wonderful retreat and I hope to come back sometime soon!

Sarah’s cottage was absolutely perfect! The property is magical with the beautiful ferns, moss, trees, and creek! I loved relaxing in the hammock next to the creek and walking barefoot through the moss. Everything felt very private. The actual cottage is adorable, comfy beds, remarkably clean, and so well equipped I didn’t want for a thing my whole stay! The decor is what dreams are made of! Every crook and cranny has something interesting and beautiful to look at! No problems with service and loved being able to kayak right down the road. Sarah was easy to get in touch with and a joy to communicate with! Please, do yourself a favor and book this place! It is my favorite vacation rental to date and will most definitely be back! Thank you so much Sarah!

Sarah's mountain cottage

Sarah's place was awesome. Cozy and quiet with lots of fun trinkets to look at. Her property is gorgeous and we loved exploring the moss garden and nearby creek. Would definitely recommend going for a dip in the lake too! There are some fragile/precarious decorations in the house, so maybe wouldn't recommend for small kids. Sarah was attentive and reachable for questions, and the place was super clean when we arrived. Overall we had a lovely time and would love to return in the future!

Great Family Getaway!

We LOVED our stay at Sacred Roots cottage. While the photos on this site are great, they do not do it justice. Sarah put so many tiny touches in it that even the best camera can’t capture— it was cozy, clean, quaint, and felt like an oasis and home all at the same time. Would definitely recommend to anyone- whether planning a vacation in Western NC, or from this area (like us!) and just looking for a weekend getaway. Would also recommend to families- Sarah had a great collection of games, books and things to entertain us all!

Lovely, secluded, magical cottage
Sacred Roots Cottage was exactly what my girlfriends and I were looking for in a magical mountain getaway. We spent a whole evening exploring the property and walking barefoot in the moss garden. The side porch was perfect for tea sipping, guitar playing and singing while the rain showers drummed down upon the metal roof. Wish we’d had one more day to explore the lake up the road! We are full of gratitude for our time spent Breathing mountain air in this sacred space, surrounded by verdant forest and abundant waterfalls! Thank you for sharing your home.

Sacred Roots was absolutely lovely. Perfect for 2. Quiet, nice firepit, fairly well equipped kitchen. Comfortable bed. We hiked at Gorges State Park which was not very far off. I would definitely stay here again.
