The site looks like a junk yard with abandoned campers ,it appears the other campers were unoccupied and had been there quite a while. They had 2 foot unmowed grass all around them. In fact the only space open was being mowed as we arrived. There is also a fenced in chicken coop with rooster just across the yard. I understand farm animals, the hip camp we stayed at just previous had farm animals, but on a farm with many acres is different and adds to the charm. Here they were right next to you. The only electric service available is 110/120 available by extension cord 50 feet from site located on the support post of car port in the driveway, too far for standard length RV power cable, which would not run AC and is unsafe, it was 86⁰ that day. . What I saw of the electric service was a 50 amp outlet & 110, no 30 amp which is if what my t/t has. The site was listed to have 30 amp service to the site. Also water but I didn't even see that probably a long run with hoses to access from the house. The area is virtually inaccessible I barely got close to campsite but almost rolled my camper having to drive up a steep incline at an angle due to not enough room to make the turn in the yard on the level, there is a 3 foot sharp drop-off to get down into the yard. The only other option was a space to drive around the backside of carport, but the turn was to tight and my 20 foot Coachmen Freedom Express would not clear the corner. I would definitely avoid it at all costs.

Bring your RV with hookups
The owner was off site but he had a tenant living on the property. Both were very nice and the communication was good. They offered to let me park on any flat spot. There was electric, water and sewer available but I only used electric. The property is an old prison and very interesting. I would say the condition of the property is rough and a work in progress. It was a convenient place for me to stay based on location. I would not bring younger children to this Hipcamp because there are scrap piles of metal (from building demolition) that may be dangerous.

The photos were misleading. The area wasn't very well kept. The vegetation was taking over. The green building doesn't exist anymore, just the foundation with glass everywhere. The awning picture with all the lights didn't compare. The lights were broken and the awnings were in need of remounting. The property felt abandoned and not very well maintained. The community area wasn't well kept; we didn't use it. The bathroom facility felt unsafe. We had to clean the toliet ourselves and the water pressure was weak. We couldn't use the shower. The backwindows were busted out. The post itself said bring your RV with hookups. The two RV's on site had 30 amp service but I couldn't hook up my RV in the same manner. We had a 110v cord which we made work but I was hoping to hook up my RV for a bit more comfort since the weather was hot that weekend. We managed and enjoyed ourselves regardless, making the best of it. However I think we would have enjoyed it more if we got to experience what the others had in the photos submitted.

RV at former prison
Great spot! Camper was very clean. The campus was unique. We spent Christmas under the stars this year! Host was vey responsive and nice. Excited to see this spot as it develops. Would return.
