Please do not enter neighbor's driveway* Sleep under the stars while listening to the river run while staying on a working farm! During the summer months watch our vegetables grow and the pickers pick! The winter months you'll enjoy a sea of green as our cover crop takes over the field. You can cool off in the river or check out the surrounding Pisgah National Forest. Dogs on leashes are welcome and owner is responsible for cleaning up after pet. The farm provides a portable toilet but no other amenities. Campfires may be restricted, so check local regulations. This is a working farm, so please be respectful of the crops and workers and keep dogs on leashes. Fishing is NOT allowed on the river unless you have booked a trip with one of our guides. Please note, if it’s rainy the roads will be muddy and 4-wheel-drive vehicles are the best option. Head 4 miles east to the town of Mills River for restaurants, stores, and services. You can find hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails within a short bike or car ride in Pisgah National Forest. Chimney Rock State Park is 25 miles east and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountain scenery. Or perhaps go for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our guests love staying here: "This was our first time using Hipcamp and we couldn’t have been happier! Candace was great at communicating and quick to respond to our questions. Site 1 was perfect. We had so much room for just the two of us and the water access was great for our dogs to swim. Plus it was so quiet, we’ll probably never go back at state park camping! Fall asleep while listening to the river run on our working farm on the Mills River. This campsite can hold up to 10 people and features a covered picnic area with picnic tables. During the summer, admire our growing vegetable field; in the winter months, you’ll see a sea of green as our cover crop takes over. You can cool off in the river or check out the surrounding Pisgah National Forest. Dogs are welcome but MUST stay on leash at all times and cleaned up after. The farm provides a portable toilet but no other amenities. Campfires may be restricted, so check local regulations. Please do not enter neighbor's driveway* Drive down our private farm road that takes you directly to the beautiful N. Mills River. Your campsite is tucked behind 2 large farm fields and in front of a beautiful clean river. There are no other sites around so it’s incredibly peaceful around the fields when crews are not working. There are families that live across the river but should never disturb you. Sorry, no fishing allowed unless you are with one of our guides. This is a large site with a picnic table, trash can, and portajon (out in the field) for guests. You do have to drive in the middle of 2 farm fields so please have 4wd if it has rained recently

Site 8 is a nice private site right by a calm river - great for kids to swim in! (No lifeguard so swim at your own risk) You'll have 2 picnic tables, charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal), firepit, and firewood. Guests have access to a shared porta jon.

Site 9 is a private campsite set next the gorgeous South Mills River - perfect river for kids/adults to play in (sorry we do not allow fishing unless with one of our guides). The water is typically shallow making it great for younger children to play in. There are sites across the river and about 200 yards away from you, but still plenty of trees in between so your site is private. Each site comes with a charcoal grill, picnic tables, firepit, and some firewood. There is a shared porta jon that is available for campers.

This riverside spot has a nice small shelter overlooking the river with an easy access path to get into the river. The water level is typically shallow in this spot so it's great for kids! This site comes with a firepit, some firewood, charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal) and picnic tables. There is a porta jon that is available for campers to share with other sites.

Site 2 has a large open field plus a ring of trees perfect to set up camp while staying cool in the shade. This site has a beautiful view of one of our farm fields and has it's own private access to the river that has a DEEP swimming hole to enjoy! If wanting smaller children or inexperienced swimmers to join, please look at other sites.

One of everyone's favorite spots - enjoy one of the larger, more private spots where the North and South Mills River meet to create the Mills River. This is a large corner site, great for groups, that has an easy beach access to the gorgeous river. Great for younger kids as it is shallow, but does get deeper the further you get into water. (One of the farthest from porta-jon) Beautiful farm field view on one side w/river view on the other (you can see neighbor's property who sometimes enjoys a swim as well across the river).

Site 1 - Perfect for Groups

Site 1 is our most spacious and open site, it's the best option for larger groups but still great for small ones as well! It's a large open field that has some trees along perimeter of site. This site does have 2 easy access points to get into the river. There is a street lamp close by that does not turn off - it is not over your site, just near the driveway

Site 4 has the most trees but still plenty of space for a couple of tents! Although you are in between Site 3 and Site 5 - you still have plenty of privacy and trees in between where you feel secluded. This site does have a steeper entrance to the river, but still easily accessed.

Looking for a great place to camp with your horses that's private, on a river and has access to all the riding trails Pisgah National Forest has to offer?  If so, this is your spot!  Don't have horses but want to sleep under the stars while listening to the river run and stay on a working farm?!? Then come join us!  This site is perfect for all ages! It's flat and ready for your horse trailer, teardrop camper, or tent! Large covered picnic area is perfect place  to get out of the hot sun or stay dry under during the rain.  Enjoy playing, wading or relaxing by the N. Mills River (sorry No hunting or fishing on our property unless with one of our guides - those caught doing so will be asked to leave).  During the summer months watch our vegetables grow and the pickers pick! The winter months you'll enjoy a sea of green as our cover crop takes over the field.  During growing season (May-October) there will be some light traffic to check fields and pick crews picking fresh peppers or tomatoes.  They will respect your privacy - but please also do the same -- due to food safety, we are not allowed to have guests or animals in the fields.  If rainy, 4wd vehicles best.

Site 6 - Covered Wagon on a Farm

This site sits on a hill overlooking 30+ acres of a working farm. Sit back and enjoy the stars shining bright, listen to the river flow and enjoy the peacefulness that this site has to offer while trying something a little different...a covered wagon! This wagon has a waterproof cover that can open/close futon included inside wagon for your comfort.  Site has plenty of space to pitch a tent(s) as well. You can access the river at the entrance of the farm near the bridge. The porta jon is located down the small hill and to the left, near site 2.

My husband and I went to celebrate his birthday. Beautiful site, very clean, amazing river. Conveniently had two trash cans and two picnic tables. Plenty of shade and big enough for two families. Restrooms are a bit of a walk from where we were but luckily we had our own portable toilet and shelter. Although we were in the great outdoors we still had pretty good cell reception. We will definitely be doing this again! Overall we loved it! Thank you

Site 1 - Perfect for Groups
We had a lovely time on this property. It was mostly quiet. Being right on the river was very relaxing. Clean camp site with plenty of wood. The only drawback was that there was a good bit of traffic on the gravel road next to us. But if you are a fairly heavy sleeper, it shouldn’t bother you in the early morning. We both would recommend this property.

We didn’t get to actually see the site; it was late when we got there, and then we had a medical emergency with my mother in law who was with us, so we had to leave just 2 or 3 hours after getting there. I wish we could’ve stayed it seemed great, the swimming hole looked amazing even at night. I thought the provided firewood was an awesome bonus! There was definitely plenty of room we had two tents set up with room to spare and the two picnic tables nearby to the fireplace were nice.

We love this property. Its super convenient and hosts are always friendly and accommodating. Site 4 is laid out very well and flat. There was some broken glass scattered around, so careful if you are camping with young children, but it wasn't an issue for my husband and myself. Can't wait to return

Beautiful stream side campsites with great amenities like firepits, grills and picnic tables. Great spacing between campsites and easy access to the water for a quick dip. A lovely bonus is to book a guide trip with their fly fishing guide service for some awesome trout fishing.

This was the PERFECT weekend thanks to this amazing spot. It rained a lot but the shelter was perfect and it didn’t get too muddy to drive out/get to the portapotty. They provided firewood, and the river was a refreshing dip. Seamless weekend with great communication from the host.

Site 6 - Covered Wagon on a Farm
This was our first time visiting, and it quickly became one of our favorite spots. Initially, we thought choosing the furthest campsite from the river might have been a mistake, but it turned out to be a great decision. Although it rained throughout the night (as expected) we were well-prepared and had the wagon to relax in. The area is very walkable, the surroundings are peaceful, and we had no issues with neighboring campers. The campsite itself is beautiful, and I highly recommend it. If you’re expecting rain, you can’t go wrong with campsite #6.

Great location and beautiful sites for camping. Overall could not recommend this site enough, the only issue was that the site was fairly muddy when we first arrived. There was a heavy shower the morning before we came in for our stay. By midday the following day most of the muddy areas were gone. Our host did offer another open site to move to if we wanted which was a nice consultaron. Outside of this it was a beautiful site for our camp an hope to come again!

We absolutely loved our time camping here! The spot is secluded, the river wraps around the campsite, and yes, 2 rivers do meet here! We spent half our time in the water, and the other half watching the fish leaping! Everyone we were in contact with was very friendly. Highly recommend! And we plan on coming back!

The perfect site for a small group camping trip. We had plenty of room and shade, and the steps down into the swimming hole were amazing. The location feels tucked away and isolated while being only 5 minutes from grocery stores and supplies.

Second time going within just a few months!! It was so great the first time, we decided to camp again a second time. There's so much space and the access to the river is our favorite part! It's nice and secluded, and would love to come back!

Beautiful spot right on the Mills River… and very close to town! Wish we could have fished it, but understand why we couldn’t. May book a guide next time. Nice access to the swimming hole and tubing. Very good shade and fairly private. Very clean. Great amenities & communication. We appreciated the free fire wood, but ended up not using it because of the heat. Will go back for sure.

Really easy to navigate and it was a beautiful campsite with everything you needed. Firewood provided, clean bathroom, and the river was so awesome! Would definitely recommend and would 100% come back

This is a great site right on the creek. There's a shelter, thoughtfully placed trees and all the firewood you'll need. It's quiet and private snd even though you know other campers are around you don't really see or hear them. Host is super responsive and helpful with anything you need. Definitely would stay again!

My family has stayed at this campground a number of times and always has the best time! The location is perfectly situated right in between downtown Asheville and Pisgah state forest so it’s our go to when wanting to explore the city or hit up some trails. The campsites themselves are always spacious, clean, and right on the creek! Our kids love playing in the water, Campsite #3 has been our favorite for the easy water access, but all the sites have plenty of space for the kiddos to run around on. This will continue to be our favorite spot when looking to stay outside of Asheville and I look forward to more family memories made here!
