River Country Campground and RV Park is located on the peaceful and historic New River (an American Heritage River) in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Enjoy outdoor activities including canoeing, fishing, tubing, hiking, or just relaxing in the cool mountain air. The campground has a newly renovated bathhouse as well as Wi-Fi, picnic tables, fire rings, playground and over thirty acres to explore surrounded by the New River State Park. Firewood and Ice are available for purchase. Nearby, enjoy the beauty of the Blue Ridge Parkway, scenic West Jefferson, world famous frescoes, mountain crafts and antiques, fiddlers’ conventions, wineries, and homemade cheese factory. For the sports minded, horseback riding, mountain biking and golfing are in the vicinity. There is so much to choose from you will have trouble deciding… in fact, you may just decide to do nothing at all.

I highly recommend this campground. It was clean, comfortable, well organized, and had a sparkling riverside view. The camp manager and staff were kind and generous when we had a need. I also have to mention...this campground had the cleanest, nicest, warmest, best lit bathrooms I've ever experienced at a campground. :)

Riverfront Full Hookup
From the beginning, everything was AWESOME! The people were so friendly! They delivered wood and asked if we needed ice. We camps right on the New River. Colors were wonderful. WIfi, Power and water were all great! This a year after Helene where they were nearly wiped out. We had the best time!. My wife says this is her favorite place now! ***** 5 stars!

Pretty location on the river. Staff was extremely kind and bathrooms were some of the best I’ve seen on a campground.

Riverfront Full Hookup
The peace and quiet that comes with being next to the river. Our spot backed right up to the river. It was a great stay. We will see you again after the 1st of the year!
