Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
A privately owned family farm. Livestock guardian dogs on site but fenced. We believe in a strong family foundation and consider ourselves blessed to live in this great country. Horses and chickens. We offer ROUGH camping tent sites either in the field or the edge of the woods. Small campfires allowed. Dig your own scat holes and provide your own bath/drinking water. Adults only and weekend stays are what is offered at this time. As Anson county is THE place for NC hunting this is perfect for hunters. We are just a few short miles from Hyatt Farms gun range. Also artists or meditative/healing personal retreat time. This ROUGH camping site sits towards the back of our property, on the edge of the woods facing towards the sunsets. You can drive right to it and park close. In cooler weather you'll see our horses in the pastures. And if we've had enough rain the pond will be full. You'll hear neighbors cows to your left, and the not so distant sound of Hyatt's gun range.. some evenings in nicer weather you will hear the sound of music from distant neighbors. But typically it's pretty quiet other than nature herself. I have included screenshots depicting our "little blue dot" and where we are located in relation to hunting outfits and gun ranges for those enthusiasts coming to our area of North Carolina. Our tent site is open to the non-gun enthusiast or hunters as well ☺️ Small responsible campfires are allowed. Outdoor grills are allowed. You must provide your own bathing and drinking water and dig your own scat holes or provide for your own bathroom needs to be disposed of properly. Plenty of downed wood for your fires. If the hens are laying well, we will offer Farm fresh free range eggs for your breakfast. You may be visited by a couple Farm cats. Mostly friendly 😉 We would not encourage our sites as children friendly due to the rough nature of the campsites and lack of creature comforts. This is a family farm, not a party site. Please keep that in mind. In the case of severe weather you will be welcomed to take cover in the body shop/garage close to your site or in our home a bit further away.

Great little campsite! Nice and private and only a short walk from the car. Maggie and her husband were very kind and even offered us coffee the next morning.

Margaret was lovely & so helpful!!! We spent a really nice evening there & would anytime the opportunity arose. Our hosts were wonderful, they introduced us to the chickens and offered to bring us anything we could need. The site was simple and cleared, it was maybe a hundred yards to the site on a flat path between horse fields. It was perfect even in the rain. And the amazing Corning glass museum is really close

Margaret and Tim have a nice, bucolic little horse farm on the outskirts of Corning. The campground area is located on the far side of a well maintained horse pasture. We parked a ways off the street and then walked maybe 50 yards to the camping area. They have a wheel barrow to help with transporting gear. All the sites were well cleared and tidy. We were the only ones there so we had the place to ourselves. One of the sites -- the one we picked -- has a screened shelter. Firewood was also provided along with some chairs and stumps to sit on which was a nice touch. Altogether, we had a very pleasant stay. The I-86 corridor is beautiful. Hope to return again soon!
