Had a great time!!! The cabin was cozy and very welcoming. A nice cool breezes help keep the cabin nice and cool even when we had some warm days on our stay. The cow kept us company in the mornings and evenings, so friendly and sweet.

My dog and I had a wonderful time at the hilltop cabin. It was the perfect getaway. Very peaceful and the cabin even has a fridge/freezer and electric kettle. And their cow was an added bonus - unbothered and liked to join us when we were outside sometimes (: next time, I’d like to stay longer than a long weekend!

The small cabin was more charming and the surrounding land more beautiful than we imagined. This is a special place and I would highly recommend a stay. James was super friendly and provided anything we needed that was extra which included a guitar. Perfect!

This place was the perfect weekend retreat. The place felt peaceful and silent—perfect for disconnecting and recharging. There’s a hill right next to the house where you can catch an amazing sunrise and sunset—the view of the Appalachian Mountains turning purple with the sunset light was beautiful.
Mornings on the porch with a cup of coffee were my favorite—fresh air, a ton of birds singing, and total calm. At night, the sky was full of stars, perfect for stargazing. The house is really cozy and gives you that feeling of getting back to the basics and simple things of life.
The Turkish oven was a fun and different experience for us, and the host, James, along with the people in the community, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Would definitely come back!

We stayed at Hilltop Cabin as our first stop on a week long road trip from Baltimore to Austin. It was so great to stay somewhere peaceful and beautiful after being in the car all day, and our pup could play and stretch her legs! We were even able to duck into Asheville for dinner when we arrived and for breakfast the next morning as we had never been! The bed was super comfy and the cabin had everything we needed to relax before getting back on the road. Our hosts were friendly and i’m sure would have been accommodating should we have needed anything, but the cabin was perfect and we were totally set as is! Our dog and the cow, Kashi, also started a beautiful friendship. Would love to come back one day :-) Thank you!

This was such a cool spot! The cow was so nice and came up to greet us as soon as we arrived.
The cabin is very cozy and has everything you need to cook a meal, including a small electric stovetop (although we ended up cooking with our skillet over the fire).
The bed upstairs is incredibly comfortable and we got some of the best sleep we've had in a while.
The weather was perfect when we were there, so we didn't need them, but there is a large space heater and window a/c unit if you're cold/hot.
Beautiful property nestled in the hills, a really nice drive through winding mountain roads, and great scenery all around.
Would love to come back sometime!

My wife and I had a great Valentine’s weekend away at the Hilltop Cabin. Beautiful views in multiple directions, right from the front porch. Mastering the wood burning stove for cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner made the experience even more enjoyable. You can always use the hot plate if you prefer…
We had rain both days so we spent the whole weekend in the cabin. Felt like home. Comfortable recliner space to read a book upstairs or just sit and listen to the birds.
James even went in before us and turned on the heater to warm the place for us. Never had a cold moment.
Great spot! Couldn’t recommend more.

What you read doesn't describe the uniquness of the cabin, the scenic view or quietness of this location. This is a great time which I would encourage anyone to visit. They don't get much better than this. James is a wonderful gracious host!

We loved our stay at Raven Ridge!! The cabin was charming and cozy. The Turkish wood stove is such a lovely feature! There is an outhouse steps behind the cabin…it was very clean and well kept. Raven Ridge is adjacent to a wellness retreat which looked very intriguing and we plan to check out on another visit. The location was great….we drove back and forth from mars hill a few times for snow tubing and hiking the Appalachian Trail at Sam’s Gap…it was maybe 20 minutes from the cabin to exit 3, then we made it to Asheville from the cabin in about 30 minutes. The most surprising thing was how warm the cabin was considering it was in the 20s & 30s during our stay!! All from a space heater downstairs!! It shows how well the cabin is built as we have stayed in glamping cabins that are drafty and impossible to keep warm. The hosts were very responsive to messages and checked on us to make sure we settled in and had everything we needed. I highly recommend staying at Raven Ridge!!

Hilltop Cabin at Raven Ridge
My boyfriend, doggies and I enjoyed our Christmas vacation on the hilltop tiny cabin. We were snuggled inside cooking and being warned by the wood burning stove on colder days. But, our sunny ones were spent outside painting, hiking, and staring out into the mountain views.

This place was so wonderful! Super warm and cozy even in January snow! Lovely to spend a day exploring around the property (the cliffs are beautiful!) and come back to cook a delicious meal. This spot has everything to offer, excited to be back soon!

Incredible, relaxing, welcoming! Already planning my next visit. The Orchard House was equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. We slept so well on the quiet property. The wood stove kept us warm, and we even slept with the windows cracked on an mild December night. We loved the tub upstairs, the selection of books in the house, even the nice touch of incense in the outhouse. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and spices needed for a meal. We loved brewing moka pot coffee, sitting on the on the porch and exploring the beautiful cliffs near the cabin. We felt so relaxed, and could definitely feel the love and care put into building the cabin. I can’t wait to come back!

We absolutely loved staying in Orchard House! It was truly a dream. The home is built so creatively and designed with so much care, attention, and charm- I felt so much joy and it was clear how loved the space has been. James was very responsive, friendly, and welcoming as a host. The land is absolutely gorgeous and feels tucked away in a cozy and peaceful way, while being very accessible to Asheville and other mountain spots. We loved the critters and natural beauty of the land and appreciated how many opportunities there were to explore! From Day 1 we were planning our next trip back and are so grateful for the opportunity to stay here :)

This place was incredible. So sweet and charming— and such a respite from camping along the eastern coast during hurricane season! James and his family were welcoming & caring. They reached out several times to make sure that we were okay during the tropical storm (occurring during our stay)— and they generously offered options to extend the stay (if need be under the extreme weather circumstances). Loved this place so much. I can’t wait to visit again!

Had a great stay! James was super helpful and attentive by phone. They made sure we had anything we needed before we arrived to make sure our stay was as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Orchard house was awesome! Will stay again if in the area!

This place was exactly what we were hoping for. Out there but not too out there. It was well stocked with lots of thoughtful touches. Really sweetly decorated too. Also a really generous amount of spices in the kitchen that were up for use! Really happy with it

Cozy cabin in a serene environment. James is very friendly and gave great recommendations for nearby spots to check out. A highlight was becoming best friends with the cow that hung out with us for the weekend. Absolutely recommend.

I absolutely loved staying at Orchard House. The hosts are very welcoming and accommodating. The rental is sheer perfection, so cozy, comfortable, and inviting. The surrounding land is gorgeous. Staying here is like stepping into a very peaceful container where you can ground and connect with yourself and others in a deep and meaningful way. I will definitely return, I hope to plan a solo trip here in the near future. ❤️

What a fun stay at a beautiful location. The house is so special, incredible, and adorable. There is a turntable and we immediately began playing music and loving the good vibes of Orchard House. There is an adorable wood stove and I want to come back in the Winter! We also got to pet the sweet cow in the fenced area just above Orchard House. Highly recommend for a unique place to unwind and recharge.
