The Gnome's Yome and Waterfall Walk
Magical!
This place was quite magical. The setting and location was amazing in itself, but I want to really point out how well thought out the amenities were. It's off grid, so we were supplied with delicious spring water by the hosts, and the power is provided by solar. The solar battery was awesome because we could see how much charge we had so we could plan accordingly with what we were powering up, like the fan or charging phones. But honestly, we never came close to running out. The cooking station was awesome. The grill was propane, and had a little stove top, which was perfect. We brought an additional camp stove, which came in handy when we needed to cook something on a lower temperature (like pancakes, mmmm). The weather cooperated beautifully for us, so I can't really speak to cooking if it's raining. The little waterfall on the property was wonderful and came in handy for a good meditation/decompression spot. The location is amazing being right on the parkway. We visited Crabtree Falls which was 15 minutes away, and then hit Mt. Mitchell after we checked out. I never thought I'd complement an outhouse, but the privy was quite nicely constructed and actually felt clean for a pit toilet. You do share it with the other campsites but it has a nice little bell system to keep any mishaps from happening like someone walking up on you when you're doing your morning doo. Overall, it was amazing. I wish I had more space to keep writing. Do yourself a favor and book a stay here!

Amazing Glamping Stay
You won't be disappointed staying at Outercamp's Hoot Owl Ridge. Evan is an exceptional host! He mixes a passion for the land with years of hospitality experience to make your stay top notch. We had everything we needed at our yurt to cook, clean, and be comfortable. We loved having 2 beds, which was perfect for a family looking for a great stay. The placement of the yurt on the land made our stay 100% private, including an outdoor shower. We took a short morning hike to the private waterfall. Evan is making improvements along the trail all the time and our 4 year old loved the journey with a little help from us. We loved the special touches of local coffee, spring fed water, and a cooler with ice. Highly recommended staying here is you are looking for a great trip to the mountains!

What an incredible weekend away from the business of life. Evan provided everything we could possibly want for a camping weekend away. The outdoor shower was an added plus and everything was exactly as described. We will definitely be back for more stays and explore the other yurts on the property!

Mom, Dad, and three dogs!
Everything about Wild Fairies was amazing! Evan left a great "flyer" for nearby hikes and was very responsive! It is a very intimate area with a lot of peace and quiet which was nice since we do not get that often. We were able to check out Crabtree Falls and Little Switzerland on the first day! Both were only about a ten-minute drive away and the Ice Cream at Little Switzerland was AMAZING, highly recommend it! On the second day we made our way over to Linville Falls, about a 20-25 minute drive but completely worth it! Many beautiful waterfalls and we stopped in at Bear Creek to do a little fishing and relaxing after Linville! I would definitely recommend staying here especially if you have a few days to stick around as there are many nearby hikes and adventures to enjoy!

April’s Treetop Dome Blue Ridge Exp
We had the best experience staying at April’s Dome. Evan’s property is absolutely breathtaking. It’s secluded and private, but still very close to town if you need anything. Directions to get there were clear and easy to follow. Everything is very well designed and well built. Having the fresh jugs of water was awesome as a way to wash dishes and hands. The bed and bedding were super comfortable and we stayed cool at night with no fan by keeping the windows open. Evan is very friendly and helpful and provided us with great recommendations on things to see and do. He has built something really special in a truly breathtaking location. If you’re reading reviews trying to decide if this is “the place” to book… stop scrolling and do it. ✨ This is your official sign ✨. You will not regret it!
