Secluded Mountaintop Vistas
I accidentally ended up here after searching on Hipcamp when another option fell through. The hosts were kind enough to accommodate me at the last minute.
Unfortunately, it rained steadily my night there, but I was able to get in a warm shower and charge my phone in the bath house near my tent site. There are fire rings, and I valiantly plied my hand at getting a fire going with generous amounts of lighter fluid. On a day without incessant rain, I would imagine a peaceful fire in the glade where the sites are.
There are glamping and cabinesque options although I had a primitive site.
You are surrounded by majestic old-growth forests that are quiet and peaceful. A farmstead lies below the camp site.
In the morning, we toured the farm and fed the animals. My 5-year-old was absolutely tickled. She got to meet and feed a donkey, a highland cow, ducks, turkeys, and pigs. She talked about the bull, Oreo, for the remainder of the day.
Our hosts were incredibly gracious. They drove us up and down the vast estate. My daughter picked flowers and fed the animals.
If you don't want to stay in a campground that is an itinerant trailer park as so many commercial campgrounds are, which we desperately wanted to avoid, and want to stay somewhere where the land is treated with reverence and appreciation, you and your family will love this spot.
You will feel relaxed, rooted, and tranquil after your stay.
