My husband works for fema and was in the area for cleanup and I was wanted to see him for a few days and this cabin was perfect. The price was affordable and it was very cozy. We definitely will stay here again

The location was peaceful. We really enjoyed the firepit while listening to the creek nearby. The trail was a nice little feature with lovely foliage and flowers. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Instructions for the shower were easy to follow and the water was nice and hot. Got to meet Ken and he was very personable and welcoming.

Beautiful, creative property. The hosts were extremely nice and attentive to our needs. Really nice gazebo/pavilion to hang out under just steps from an enchanting creek. To add to the enchantment, there was a nice leisurely trail through the forest with a whimsical Wizard of Oz theme. We really enjoyed our stay.

Crooked Creek Glamping Cabin
A good glamping option, great location with easy access to Boone and West Jefferson. The fireflies in the field were amazing! The solar panels seemed not to work, but hosts provided power packs for charging devices and I would suggest bringing your own, too if you're there for more than one night. The porta-potty was clean and well-maintained. The only downside is that the road can be noisy. If that's bothersome for you, I'd suggest some sort of white noise or earplugs. Overall, though, a good spot and would stay again.

Nice place to stay for a night or two. nice arrangement done. lot of good nature view's to see. the only thing is mobile network was not working and toilet is not good rest everything was awesome

Enjoyed staying at Debra’s cabin! Solar system was out but they provided lanterns and battery packs for our phones. Overall it was a great experience.

Great experience at Meadowsweet Gardens ! The location is beautiful and the care that the owners put into every thing is perfect! If you happen to be a motorcyclist don’t hesitate to ask Ken for some good routes!

Wizard of Oz-Dorothy's Cottage
Easy to get to. Everything you need with a whimsical touch for a mountain getaway. We hiked to the top of Grandfather Mountain (state park) and enjoyed some area hikes. Worked well as a place to begin our adventures. Easy access to many trails.

We loved having a warm shower and easy access to firewood! The adjacent creek made for peaceful evenings and our 3 year old loved the short shady walking trail behind the cabin. Deb was easy to communicate with added some thoughtful touches in the cabin as well. Booking this together with the Wizard of Oz cabin would be perfect for two small families or couples.

Crooked Creek Glamping Cabin
It is a beautiful and clean cabin with thoughtful amenities. I enjoyed walking on the nature trail and following the story of The Wizard of Oz. I enjoyed the imagination and thoughtful details. We ate breakfast in the Pavillion in the morning sunshine and found the location of the cabin to be very convenient to West Jefferson. It is clear that Debra has put thought into making her clamping clients feel welcome.

Fantastic time here and we definitely want to go back! We loved the cabin and location. There’s a winery less than a mile away and loved going into town as well. Debra is a great host and can’t wait to stay here again!

perfect tiny cabin for a weekend getaway. grounds were very pleasant with a great seating/eating area and a beautiful fire pit. perfect location near down town w jefferson and the old barn winery around the corner. will definitely be back!

What a sweet spot! We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely come back. There are so many details to appreciate from the beautiful informational signs, to the thoughtful amenities and supplies. There is a delightful trail, an amazing outdoor shower, and the potty is well cared for. Our one negative was the bed situation -- it seems like a fairly old futon that isn't very sturdy and not great for two people to share. BUT well worth the stay! There was very little we had to worry about because everything was so nicely tended to -- we could tell the hosts are thoughtful and care about their space and guests. We enjoyed the outdoor eating section, a bonfire, such lovely surroundings, excellent ventilation and security and more. Thank you! Definitely recommend.

Our night at Meadowsweet Gardens was a pleasant evening by the stream. Our host, Debra, welcomed my husband and I shortly after our arrival and ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
While at Meadowsweet Gardens, my husband and I lodged in a cabin near the creek. The cabin was stocked with basic essentials one might need. We also had access to a simple bathroom facility, potable water, and a warm outdoor shower.
The property itself was very well maintained. There was a lovely pavilion ideal for enjoying a meal and relaxing. And, just behind the pavilion, a nice, shaded walking trail with a Wizard of Oz theme created a leisurely circuit. Additionally, across the road, there was a beautiful pond with wonderful views of rolling hills and a Christmas tree farm. It was very picturesque.

This little rustic cabin has everything a backpacker getting ready to hit the trail could ask for. The cabin was tidy and one could tell the host thought about everything , hot water for an outdoor shower, solar powered lights and outlets for charging small devices. Sarge even came out to help us with some issues we were having getting our tents sorted out for the next day. What a treat!

We had a wonderful time in the Land of Oz and Dorothy's cottage was super cute and very cozy. It had everything you need for a glamping trip. Our host, Debra was very helpful and extremely understanding.
My traveling cat Bebe felt right at home. My favorite part of our stay had to be the forest. All of the characters from the land of Oz were along the path way through the woods. It gave the feeling of actually being in the movie and the Creeks running through the woods were absolutely beautiful. The entire place is ran on solar power which is great for the environment.
Debra was a fantastic host and the next time we are in the West Jefferson, NC area we will certainly be back!! Thank you for a wonderful visit, Debra!!

Do not recommend this place if you are staying in glamping cabins.
Partial requested refund of $15 denied. Below are the details as to why I felt I was due a refund.
I arrived a little early and waited until they returned as the host was not there upon my arrival. I tried to chalk some things up due to host having a bad day because dryer died but the more I think about some things I feel I should receive a bit of a refund. First, I didn’t feel greeted or welcomed. Then I went inside to see if I could rent the buddy heater that’s offered as it was getting down in the lower 50’s. I’m a very cold natured person. She said I need to check and see if I have any gas tanks then she flipped over and said let me check the weather first. She’s like it’s only getting in the low 50s and I keep my windows open at night and I’m just fine. Then she advised there’s about three blankets in the room you can use if you get cold. At this point I felt like it was pointless to continue with the heater so I said well I’ll just use your blanket and mine to keep warm if you think that’ll be enough. I felt like I inconvenienced them even asking. Then when I get to the room there’s a paper on the table about all the things that I needed to do. I needed to sweep before I left, if I use the sheets on the bed I needed to remove them and put them in pillowcases and put them at the front door before I leave. I chose not to use sheets since I had to put them on and take them off and place outdoor for host but did use the blankets because I needed to keep warm somehow. I also need to take my trash to the pavilion. I noticed that the rugs looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a while so what was the point of me paying a $5 cleaning fee when I’m having to do all the work before I leave. Secondly the paper also said if you use the blankets to be sure to put them back on the bookcase shelf. That right there tells me that they’re not getting cleaned every time. Everything should be cleaned especially with Covid right now. What was supposed to be some R&R turned into me be a cleaning maid for my own mini vacation and having a cold face at night. I felt like I couldn’t talk to the hostess considering how she handled my request for a buddy heater. I was only requesting $15 of my $50 bill - $5 cleaning fee and $10 for heater i requested and was told to use blankets instead. I tried to make the most of my trip because I drove quite a distance to get there. Being in customer service for 27 years this was not a great experience and I couldn’t let it go without giving them an opportunity to make it right which they didn’t. If I’d known I was going to be doing all the housekeeping and told to use blankets to keep warm I wouldn’t have booked with them. Hope this helps others to make a more informed decision before booking a glamping cabin. A very disappointed customer.

What a great experience camping here. Very quiet with beautiful views. Enjoyed the wonderful trail behind the creek. The pavilion was super nice to cook underneath and fire pit beside it with an unlimited woodshed made for the perfect evening . The grounds here were simply beautiful and the owners were very accommodating allowing me to park my tiny camper in driveway while staying in the cabin. Would definitely camp here again. Loved it.
