Well, we call this place a geographical anomaly - it’s 1-2hrs from a number of places with great attractions and activities available nearby. Great overnight pit stop location or establish a base and go explore. Generally a very quiet and peaceful location with the occasional motorcycle or truck driving by. You’ll enjoy convenience with beautiful sunsets and neiggghhh-borly friends, and of course hosts 🙂This is a boon-docking open camp site with limited visual privacy but spacious from the house and plenty of room available from other camper setups. Amazing sunsets 🌅 Usually fresh veggies available by donation (when in season), and many other add-ons to choose from. Please provide your own portable fire pit or feel free to use the communal pit. When available and weather permitting, private outdoor yoga, mobility, and meditation sessions may be booked during your stay - dm to ask about availability and pricing of any add-ons. Pets must be on a leash - other animals live on on property. Trash disposal is available. No facilities are available…. yet 🙃 Video surveillance is present on property. Convenience store, voted one of the best fried chicken in NC, is available next door.

McCrossroads Boondock

Exceptional Communication and Help

There is horse pasture on two sides of Bry's land. While you're not supposed to feed the horses there are no rules about petting them when they come up to the fence. It was a great way to start your day by looking out your window and seeing a half dozen horses about 15' away. Bry's property is also fairly flat. We parked along the fence to the left of the house and didn't need to use a single leveling block. When we arrived Reid came out and explained it had rained the past few days and that our spot was the best to use. Reid also came to the rescue when we returned from a BBQ festival in town where our smaller dog, Tilly a Miniature Aussie, has suffered a wound to her right rear leg. My wife worked for a veterinarian for 15 years so she knew how to treat the would IF she had the right things. I asked Reid if he had any rubbing alcohol and he gave us a full new bottle to keep so we could treat the wound for the next few days. While a bottle of rubbing alcohol isn't expensive it sure meant a great deal to us and to Tilly. She is doing fine by the way. My final comment is that Bry was great with her communications. We knew her schedule the day we were to arrive. She sent a map of the property showing the various places to park. If she wasn't going to be available she provided Reid's phone number. Talk about making things easy! If you're passing through Laurinburg NC and need a place to stay, by all means book a spot at McCrossroads Boondock. It's worth it!

Quiet peaceful layover spot in a rural area. Gas station walking distance for snacks. Walmart, Planet Fitness and other shopping less than 10 minutes away. It's not secluded, you're pretty much in the open, but there's plenty of space around you so you don't feel crowded. And the horses make great neighbors. Soft sandy ground with good drainage. (Your pets will track it in!) No tree cover. (Your solar panels will get full sun!) Host was very cheerful and pleasant. I would definitely come again when I'm tired of peopling in Fayetteville.
