This was one of our favorite Hip Camps we've been to and we have been using the site for years. The cabin was an excellent glamping experience for a family looking for a quick weekend away. The creek and view were amazing and the kids loved playing in the water. The hosts have included many extra amenities like picnic tables, cooking shelter, fire pit, chairs etc that make the stay so convenient. The toilet was very clean and easily accessible.
We will definitely be back again!

A lovely little site right by the creek! Dianne is a very generous host and made sure we had everything we needed. We set up our tent in the picnic shelter to keep dry from the rain, which also had a small table and chairs so we were very comfortable. The porta potty was the cleanest I’ve ever seen! Our dog had a blast playing in the creek and hanging out with the host dogs. Would definitely book Joyville again!

Camping by the creek was wonderful, and the deck was a lovely spot to read and listen to the birds. Truly peaceful. My dog loved the trails and splashing in the water! I'd love to come back and jump in the swimming hole on a hot day! Thank you Dianne 🩷

We had a great time although we picked a "weather challenged" weekend to visit. Diane kindly offered us the small cabin instead of the dome since it was roomier and there was a high possibility of severe thunderstorms overnight. The creek was absolutely beautiful and full of skipping stones. Their dog, Bug (I think that was his name) was sweet and welcoming! My daughter's and I look forward to coming back on a less rainy and warmer weekend to explore the creek a little better!

What an amazing site and hospitality at its finest! It was great to let the dogs swim in the river. It was a little too cold for me when I visited in February but I will definitely be back in the warmer months. I had a camper but had a tour of the camp and all the sites were very cute.
A beautiful back road mountain drive to Boone with plenty of hiking and a mtn bike park in the area.

We enjoyed our time at Joyville. Facilities- covered porch, access to electric for charging phones, wifi, portopot, potable water were great. Access to creek and swimming hole made the stay excellent. There traffic to rock quarry and other properties that pass through Joyville, which were unexpected and at times early.

Dianne is just the sweetest soul ever, the campsite is clean and cut grass & weeds. The spots are just beautiful and peaceful, definitely recommend for a peaceful and relaxing stay!

good vibes all around here! serene and peaceful location that was so thoughtfully laid out. we were the only campers there so we did have the luxury of being alone. i loved having fire wood available to buy (bring cash) right next to the campsite - that was super convenient. Garry & Dianne were absolutely stellar hosts and made us feel right at home! we loved your property. thanks for sharing it with us!

It was lovely, as usual! I love that there's just a few sites, so it's quiet. It was a hot weekend, but there is lots of shade, especially by the river. And we could cool off in the swimming hole. The children loved the tubing, even though the water was somewhat low this time of year. There is space for children to play catch. It was nice to see Dianne again (the host). She is friendly and welcoming. Plus, the campground is equidistant between the triangle and Asheville, making it the perfect place for us to meet up with friends.

This campsite was utterly amazing — and the hosts are some of the nicest people Chris or I have met in NC! The rushing creek, the geology, fresh raspberries, great trout. I even had some trouble with my car and our hosts spent all morning with Chris figuring it out while I kept an eye on our happy, frolicking pups! Will definitely return.

Garry & Dianne are very kind. We have 4 young kids and they had a blast in the creek. Youngest is 4 and although the bank is steep he was able to navigate it without difficulty. We were far enough away from other campers that sound was not an issue.

Garry and Dianne are wonderful Hipcamp hosts and together they built Joyville, a beautiful camping experience situated on a picturesque creek and accessible via private road. I had 2 dogs in tow and they had a great time running around the property with Booger and Trooper and swimming in the creek. Bathroom was very close and immaculate. We will be back!

We loved the camping area! It was beautiful - quiet with just three camp sites. And Dianne was welcoming. My children loved tubing down the stream, and we enjoyed the sound of the creek right next to our tent. It was helpful having the covered platform, too, since we got some rain. But the rain ended up being a problem, because there was a flash flood warning in the evening/night (thank you for the heads up, Dianne!). And our tent and cars were in danger of being in the path of the flood waters. So we ended up leaving that evening. We plan on coming back - but will choose one of the higher campsites next time.

I loved tent camping on Dianne and Garry’s land!!! We came in a bit late but the campsite was easy to find and when we woke up the next morning Dianne came around to help us with starting a fire with kerosene even though everything was damp. Dianne and Garry are the definition of southern hospitality and made our stay just that much more smooth, with great wifi and providing a place for us to charge our devices. We loved fishing in the creek as well! Thank you all for your hospitality!

I can’t say enough good things about Garry & Dianne and the experience they have put together for guests in their little slice of the Appalachians. I showed up after a day of mountain biking in Boone and realized I forgot the ladder to my roof top tent and Dianne was kind enough to offer me their creek front cabin for me and my pup to spend the night in. These people are the epitome of southern hospitality. If you want a convenient place to lay low near Boone and you enjoy fishing this place is meant for you. The creek that flows literally right in front of the campsite has some great holes filled with trout and smallmouth that you could cast into from your camp stool at the fire pit. Also if you have a pup that likes to run around off leash you can let them off with no worries. The property is closed in by the creek on ones side and a steep incline on the other with nice soft grass in between for dogs to run all their energy out. If I could give six stars I would. Thank you Dianne and Garry for the wonderful experience.

I felt very safe camping here, which is important for me as I’m a solo female traveler. Diane was wonderful to talk to and was so sweet and accommodating. The bathroom was very clean and I loved falling asleep to the sound of the creek.

This spot was gorgeous! Stayed on site 2 by the creek. Sleeping with the sounds of the creek was so nice. Loved the location, not busy but not too far from areas we were visiting. Host were great, bathroom clean and site was well maintained. Wi-Fi signal was OK but not super strong by the creek, but this is not a deal breaker at all since peace and relaxation was what we were looking for. Signal is better at the top. I would definitely stay again!

GORGEOUS property! Great, easy swimming- perfect spot for families with younger kiddos or adults alike. Dianne and Gary were not only extremely accommodating, but generous and kind as well. We were absolutely treated like family while we were there. LGBTQIA+ folks- this is a safe space. Hosts are super kind. 12/10 would recommend. Anticipate more camps there in our future!

We loved camping at Joyville! Garry and Diane were very kind and made us feel welcome. The site itself was well-maintained and extremely pleasant. Especially thankful for firewood and an elevated platform on a cold and rainy night.
Site is about 25 min from Boone / 35 min from Blowing Rock. We drove 20 min from camp to hike the trails out of EB Jeffress park on the Blue Ridge. Would love to come back with a group of friends!

Garry and Diane are the best hosts. They had great communication as we prepared to head to Joyville. They had plenty of firewood and that’s what you need at this time of year! The location by the stream was so nice, can’t wait to head back in the warmer months.
