July 6th a 4th of July celebration with local Music, Food Trucks, and more! The historic pond was originally much smaller, and a mill pond in the 1920's and features a long dam along one side. It is a 22-acre lake, 2 smaller ponds and surrounded by woods, swamp, and farmed fields, a total of 90 acres. Divided by Duplin and Onslow County line making it very unique! Chinquapin, NC The Lee Baysden Pond was originally owned by Mr. Lee Baysden himself and first opened for fishing in 1956. The store/office is the original detached kitchen from his homeplace, which is the white house just up the street. We still use this today and it has Mr. Lee Baysden's handwriting in the store that states opened June 1956. The pond was owned and fished until the late 1990's. A hurricane damaged the dam and land was sold sometime after. The next owner dug the pond into the lake it is today and fixed the dam. It was deemed private and no fishing was permitted during this time frame. In 2020 My husband Tyler, and I decided to buy the Pond when we saw the signs up for sale. We created JCO, Juniper Creek Outfitters and Guide Service, fall 2020 and began to restore the lake and land to better than ever! We also have our first Glamping A-Frame cabin available. We have had several community events hosting fishing tournaments, fireworks, music, and food trucks. Our camp office/store is opened most weekends or by check-in requests and fishing passes available 7 days a week online from sunrise-dark. Our lake features fishing for Bass, Crappie, Bream, Catfish, Bowfin, varieties of Panfish, and more. Check out our Facebook page (JCO Campground at Lee Baysden Pond) for all the latest news and catches! We have tagged bass that have been released back into the lake. Let us know if you catch one so we can record it! We are continually trying to make JCO and Lee Baysden Pond a great place in our community for friends and families! Enjoy the great outdoors unplugging from all the daily devices of reality. Enjoy bird watching for ducks, geese, heron, osprey or occasional eagle, owls, turkey, and more. We now have a lake Kitty that adopted us and is now part of the team. Her name is "Tail", named by our 4 year old, Beckham. You may see Tail roaming around by the office or patrolling the campground as lake security. Beckham and our new baby girl Atley will be with us most days in office or helping to check you in to your sites! Eight RV sites- # 2, 6, 7, 8 are 30/50 amp, water hookups, fire pit, and waterfront. Site 4- Sunset Cove
Divine experience!
We absolutely loved Sunset Cove 4! Huge huge appreciation to Contessa and her family for guiding and helping me with the items to be bought for camping as this was our first experience. I wanted to surprise my girlfriend on her birthday as she loved camping, and I requested Contessa to help me with ideas and if possible arrange the place before we arrive. She was very sweet and put up a beautiful birthday tag and a table for us. My girlfriend literally cried looking at the scenic view of the place and the Happy Birthday tag, she never expected that I would bring her here. We arrived late at to the campsite and it was getting dark, and as it was our first experience, we had some trouble setting up the tent. Contessa's family were very kind and arrived at the campsite in the dark and helped us set up the tent. This place is just heaven, our best outdoor experience, we had a beautiful pond right in front of us and we set up Hammock to watch the sunset which was an amazing view! This place had really good privacy and we spent a great night, this will be remembered forever and my girlfriend absolutely loved this camping experience. I would love to thank Contessa and her family for helping us in all possible ways and for recommending Sunset Cove 4 campsite for my girl's birthday surprise. We'll cherish this memory for a long long time and would definitely thank you guys each time we remember it! Thank you so much!!..

Site 2 Fav Lake View 30/50amp
We camped in our 30’ travel trailer, and the property is great. We parked overlooking the lake and had great sunrises. It was a fantastic place to hang out a few days!

Site 6 Buddy Site- 30/50amp
Love this camp site!
We have had a good time at this family run camp site. The camp site provides water and electricity hookup, plus a free pump at check out. There are also boating and fishing available on the lake. Contessa has been very communicative and responsive. The Freedom Festival on 7/6 was a hit! Highly recommended!

Site 9 Lake View 30 amp
A fantastic hidden gem ! Quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed watching the sunrise over lake! Please don't fear the not having a dump station! The pump out process was fantastic as you don't even have to pull out your own stinky slinky... the hosts were super friendly and we already have our next visit booked this summer. Fair Tmobile connectivity. There is a large open area behind sites 4 to 9 to back out of your site on your way out. 1 to 3 appear to be pull through.

JCO Lakeside Floating Cabin
Had a wonderful time! The place is so peaceful. We loved sitting out on the porch overlooking the lake. Unfortunately the weekend was soooo hot, otherwise we probably would've just hung out in the canoe and fishing off the porch all day.
