Great host. Shady, relaxing FHU site. Private country setting. Conveniently located to the quaint historic village of Gold Hill. I WILL DEFINITELY come back.

This spot was the perfect location for our overnight stop in the historic, mining town. The site was level, clean, and charming. This is the way most of us envisioned camping- space in the beautiful outdoors! The host, Paul, was accommodating and kind. We loved this stop and 100% will stay again when in the area.

Wonderful setup Paul has for those looking to relax and enjoy a peaceful country setting here close to historic Gold Hill.. the amenities offered are top notch with easy hookups, shower and pavilion!.. what he’s done with this property is nothing short of amazing..Paul is an excellent host..easy to talk with and knowledgeable about the area. I can’t recommend him and his place more highly.. I not only feel like I’ve found a great place to visit when I’m in the area, but have made a good friend.. will definitely be back 👍🏻

Really nice spot for solo campers and large groups alike. My dogs were very happy with the space to roam. Convenient location to historic Gold Hill and hiking at Uwharrie and the Eagle Point Nature Preserve.

Awesome! Paul has a beautiful property! Water & electric for our 34 ft class A was perfect. We were also pulling our jeep. Plenty of room to disconnect & hookup.
Paul was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended

We loved Paul's spot! He is attentive and welcoming host. Beautiful countryside and great amenities. We really enjoyed the pavilion available. We'll be back!

Great location and very convenient. Fire ring with fire wood and level parking area we’re great for my stay. Loved the quiet atmosphere without being way off the grid! Will be staying here a few times a year as a traveling fisherman!

Had the most amazing time here. Paul and the dogs greeted me when I got there and showed me around… played a little fetch with Sebastian.. I went hoping for a little peace and quiet and that’s exactly what I got. Couldn’t have asked for a better time. As a solo, female camper I felt completely safe there. If you want the whole experience of the little town and its surroundings I suggest going on the weekend. I went through the week and there isn’t much happening around there. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there and will definitely be back.

We had a great time at Golden Place. Paul was an excellent host and very friendly and accommodating. The site has electrical hookups for 20, 30, and 50 amp power and water and is nice and level with a nice rock driveway. A sewer dump is close by the driveway. We have a small travel trailer so we didn't need the outdoor shower or toilet but did enjoy the gazebo and fire pit. Paul's house is nearby but far enough away we felt like we had the place to ourselves and more privacy than you find at public campground.
The very nearby town of Gold Hill is a small community but has a very "rich" history of the gold industry in North Carolina. We love local history so we enjoyed the time we spent talking with the proprietors of the local shops and walking through the park and the Gold Hill Rail Trail that winds around the old mine shafts, powder room, and restored buildings.
Golden Place is a real "gem" of a place to unwind and unwind the clock!

Great, peaceful spot! Had everything we needed and more. Beautiful property, very clean, and private. Paul is a super nice guy and was helpful with anything I needed. The little town center is also fun to walk around in. You can easily walk to the center as well!

Paul has an excellent place. Great electric and water hookups. More than enough space for my 30ft camper. Plus plenty of room for Luna (our husky) to run around and explore.

Paul was an awesome host! We came in with a 42 foot camper and had lots of space. Paul even came out to help us back into the spot. We felt right at home enjoying s’more’s at the fire pit and relaxing in the gazebo. He has water hook up and electric hook up, and other amenities we used like an outdoor shower. Great communication and very welcoming! Can’t wait to come back!
