Learn more about this land:
Our front field is lovely and private, bordering woods that are just deep enough, separating the space from the rest of the farm. This is primitive camping, so no toilets, no running water - but it is pretty and we have goats and peacocks! No drug use is allowed, and smoking is okay as long as you take care and dispose of everything properly. We don't mind alcohol but do have neighbors, even if at a distance, so please no drunkenness. We make sure the field stays mowed and fairly trimmed up. If you'd like to pet the horses and hang with the goats before heading out, please feel free! We are .9 miles from Shakori Hills, about 8 miles from Pittsboro, and 20 minutes from Jordan Lake. We have fire pits, a picnic table at one of the sites, and do provide firewood. You can also scavenge plenty of wood from the woods. That sound you hear at dusk? It's the peacocks flying up into the trees to roost! **Need a little more? We had a really nice stay at this place. It was very quiet and peaceful and great view of the sky. The peacocks were cool, they came right up to our site.

Beautiful and Serene
This place is beautiful and peaceful. There was enough privacy for us to feel all alone, even with another family camping on-site. Very large field in a clearing with some trees for privacy. Beautiful! They have peacocks, guineafowl, horses, goats, and chickens on the property and the family were super lovely.

Best Hipcamp Experience!
This was the best Hipcamp experience I’ve had. Whitney and her family were so welcoming and communication was amazing. Our two little boys enjoyed seeing and feeding all the farm animals and wouldn’t stop talking about them. Thank you so much for the hospitality, Whitney!!

Great country farm camping spot
Nice big field to camp in. Some firewood was provided and there was plenty of wood to be collected in the woods. Some farm animals to visit and look at. Peacocks visited our campsite early in the morning. Some heavy rain passed through and the hosts were very nice and offered the use of a secondary roofed porch/house in case the conditions got too bad.

Our Favorite HipCamp
We are experienced HipCampers and the front field HipCamp was by far our favorite and most memorable Hip campsite ever.
We found that Whitney and her husband Bob were very good communicators, with rapid responses and easy to understand directions. Upon our arrival they were cordial warm and welcoming.
We arrived to a crackling outdoor campfire,. And a menagerie of friendly farm animals. It was stunningly beautiful, very quiet, and very peaceful. Standing under the stars in the crisp autumn night brought tears to my eyes.
We are awoke to a beautiful autumn morning in their glorious front field.
Before our departure this morning, we had a chance to pet the goats, horses, and chickens.

I really enjoyed my time here. Although there are several sites, I was lucky to have the whole place to myself! I stayed here 3 nights and slept very well. Had fire flies to keep me company too! Very nice place!

Our host was very accommodating and quick to reply to my questions. And, we made friends with the peacocks! Great spots for camping in a very well-maintained field under the stars. Definitely stay again!
