These tree houses are elevated off the ground and nestled among the trees. The cozy 100-square-foot, the open-air structure allows you to sleep outdoors but off the ground and out of the elements (and away from bugs!). Similar to a screened porch, a half wall surrounds the bottom and a screened section on top is covered by a roof. From the double sleeping platform and single-stacked platform bunks, you'll be able to see stars and hear nature all night long. Site 60 Tent - Primitive Site

From the moment we checked in I knew it was going to be a fantastic stay. The ladies in the office were more than helpful and super friendly. This place was amazing for me and my 4 year old. We stayed in the primitive camp sites but no one else was there. They suggested we moved to a different site which would be better for us. IT WAS PERFECT. Site 62. The bathrooms were immaculate, fresh towels every day….nothing primitive about this y’all! The streams were so fun to explore, great playground for the kiddos, bounce pad was a huge hit, and we can’t wait to come back in the summer to enjoy the pool! My only negative is that the primitive sites were very small and close together. If every site were occupied you’d be on top of one another. One of the first sites when you walk in from the parking area, I can’t for the life of me figure out where a tent would go. But other than that, it was perfect and I’m so glad we went when we did. We’ll definitely be back, and hopefully SOON :)

Vintage Double Decker Bus Big Ben

This place is incredible! Perfect for families, plenty to keep the kids happy without having the leave the resort. We stayed in Big Ben, the double decker bus, hands down the coolest place I've ever stayed. My kids had a blast, everything was so clean and organized, and the staff is INCREDIBLE - I love that we can shop in the resort store and charge to our "room" - and I love that they were willing to deliver firewood directly to our site! 10/10 recommend!

We had the opportunity to visit Emberglow from Greenville, SC over a weekend and the experience was exactly what we needed. Around 1hr drive from home to a unique outdoor experience. Beautiful property with access to hiking trails from the site. The accommodations were clean and well equipped. We stayed in one of the retro Airstreams and had our own porch and picnic area out back. Even a stream trickling that we could hear from the bed with the windows open. Will be back! Nicest campground in the Lake Lure area. Slightly further out, 10 miles to town. We have a 30 ft travel trailer, my sister had a 35 ft 5th wheel. Both sites were level and very spacious. Walking through the campground all sites looked level. Sites are gravel. Pool is large and awesome. Large dog park and walking trail. Will definitely be back!

I cannot wait to go back! After COVID, I was ready for a girls weekend away. We went with a neighbor and her daughter (so 4 girls in total) and rented Gene #20. great location near the pool, next to the creek and the set up was bar-none! The owners are terrific. Our unit had everything you'd need to bring (except the few things listed on their site they can't provide due to COVID). Trails are nicely groomed, pool is fantastic and the layout of the campground is great to allow kids to roam around while still keeping an eye on them.

Bohemian Treehouse

Such a fun short trip from Charlotte. We stayed in the 2 person treehouse and it was a perfect couple getaway. Such a fun place with flair. It had a great size fridge & personal grill so we could've hidden away all weekend. The back porch is amazing for outdoor dining and great views. We loved visiting the nearby wineries, hiking, and soaking up the sun by the pool. Friendly staff & clean accommodations. We are sure to be back and next time bring the whole fam!

Hickory Hideaway

Loved the location, infrastructure/facilities, and calm, friendly staff. Very close to both Tryon International Equestrian Center and Chimney Rock. Bath house and pool complex are almost brand new and very clean/nice. Very family friendly. Will definitely be coming back.

Vintage 1950 Westcraft Trolley Top Camper (Harold)

My wife and I stayed in Harold (red one on left). We had so much fun visiting the vineyards in the area for a long weekend. The camper was a cool change, it was homey and comfortable, but really just loved the idea of getting a glimpse of vacationing from the past. Will definitely be back to check out some of the other campers and take a day hike up to chimney rock.
