Loved my stay!! The surroundings are beyond beautiful and you are close to the adorable town of Andrews and great hiking. A porta potty was available (super clean!) as well as a nonpottable water spout. The camp host was very helpful and friendly as were the rv neighbors. Loved hearing the bubbling stream (and cows in the distance :) - excellent experience and would love to return.

Quiet space needed!
I was on my way home after a difficult family visit and decided I would try to find somewhere to sleep where I could listen to the sound of the creek and not have to deal with people. My host Ed did a very good job of letting me know
If I needed I could contact him, while giving me the he space I needed at the time. That never morning when I opened my eyes I couldn’t believe I had chose suck a beautiful and perfect spot. I plan on coming back to book one of his cabins so my friends can share this same experience I did. I would highly recommend this beautiful little spot to anyone who loves a beautiful Mountain View and sleeping by the sound of the water!! I hate feeling pressured to have to meet the hosts so Ed was perfect for me!!

Smell
It was a beautiful place. Great campsights right by the water with great views. The problem was with the smell of the porta potty. The smell was so strong, I ended up going somewhere else after just 10 minutes of being there.

Perfect campsite
Mountain Riders campsite is beautiful! So private and secluded. A babbling brook runs alongside the campground and lulls you to sleep each night. Just a short distance from all that GSMNP & the Blue Ridge Mtns offer. The water makes a good cup of jo to start a day full of adventures.

We loooved tent camping here. Easy access, beautiful landscape with a lovely stream, clean porta potty nearby, kid and dog friendly. We’re already talking about planning our next trip back!

Great place to stay
Ed’s place was beautiful. All spots are creek front and clean. Kids had a blast playing in the creek. It’s not over crowded, just a few full hook up sites and a couple cabins. Quiet and not a very busy like a lot private grounds. Sites are decent size for a private campground.

It was my first solo camping trip and I couldn’t of found a better spot! Easy to find, beautiful surroundings, attentive hosts, quiet and sweet. Would go again for sure!

Simple Campsite Near the River.
This is a great spot for an easy getaway. Not far from the Nantahala and close enough to to town to get extra supplies. The directions were clear and the host was accommodating. Best of all it’s right next to a small creek that drowns out the surrounding noises and makes it a peaceful place to stay with the convenience of being right off the highway.

Serenity
Perfect quiet spot. I drive up from Jacksonville, Fl at-least 7 times a year where Im a fishing guide part time and work full time in florida. I enjoy escaping to Nc to fly fish. I actually had the entire tent section to myself. The views are beautiful. Breakfast at hardees and theres a store near by. I highly recommend this campground and I’ll definitely be back. Thanks!

Incredible River & Mountain View’s!
Magical. The photos on the listing don’t do this place justice. The sunset, the river, the view of the mountains, Ed and his two dogs - everything was beyond our wildest dreams. If we’re back this way, we will 10000% return for a longer stay.

Not what I expected
I hate leaving bad reviews but after reading all the good reviews we had high hopes but we were very disappointed.
Just to clarify the “campground” is pretty much just a field with a road on side and a river on the other. There wasn’t really much privacy. Also the area where you’re suppose to stay is under construction and very muddy. You will have a hard time finding a space that’s even, doesn’t make for good camping.
There is also no potty party. Needs to be updated in the description.
Not a $30 stay.
I would recommend to move the trash can away from the river, nobody wants to look at that while hanging out by your camp.

Beautiful little campsite! The flowing creek is absolutely amazing and we loved falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the water. There was no porta potty like the listing/pictures showed but we made do :) we would definitely visit again.

Pretty River
Ed was very nice and let us use his 4x4 to unload our stuff from our van to the campsite because after a week of rain leading up to our stay the field was a complete muddy mess and if you left the main trail your car would for sure get stuck. Luckily, I had read a review saying it gets very muddy and I brought knee high rubber boots for everyone in my family, which was the only way we could’ve stayed there under the conditions. Our site (site 8) was luckily the least muddy of all the sites and had a picnic table and nice sized large stone fire ring. There was no porta potty on the property as advertised and we were not told before our stay that it had been removed. Luckily, I had bought a small camping toilet for this trip and me and my three kids were able to use that. The river is very pretty and a nice sound to fall asleep to at night and you could see a lot of stars over the field. We were able to let our small dog off leash one of the nights since we were the only campers, but again he did get extremely muddy. Under dryer conditions I’m sure it would be a much more pleasant stay, but campers need to know there’s no porta potty to plan accordingly.

Muddy pature next to a creek
This is a muddy pasture next to a creek. Lots of bugs. No portajohn in site as the picture implies. No tent pad, but kind of flat. Did have a ring of rocks for a firepit. Single lane access, but we got stuck trying to turn around, since other van was parked in road due to muddy shoulders. Other campers graciously helped push us out. In other words, more than two cars and you are stuck in the middle. And you have to cross twenty yards of bog to get to site. Host did provide farm vehicle to cross mud, but that's kind of nuts. Choose to camp elsewhere. The mosquitoes would have eaten us alive.

Great location!
Very nice and very informative host! Location was beautiful and perfect for drive-up camping without the “basic campground” feel. Stream, campfire, outhouse and picnic table were great convenience for us novice campers!! Would definitely stay here again!!!

Unfortunate
I had booked this site for a stay of a few days, having never stayed here before. I arrived after a significant amount of rain passed through. Consequently, by no fault of the owner, the field was saturated. I decided to leave after one night rather than wait around and hope things dried out. The owner offered to provide some other accommodation, but I had already moved on. The owner was under no obligation to refund the money for the days I paid and didn't use, but it was disappointing to have to eat that cost. It might be a good spot for a nice dry fall trip. I wouldn't do it in summer again, dry or not.

Site is awesome.
Beautiful creek. Awesome meadow. Fireflies were incredible.
Downside for our specific trip, was that somehow hipcamp allowed the site to double book. It created confusion and some awkwardness with another camping group.

Quick overnighter
Great campsite along a tranquil Valley River. Easy access to AM coffee at a Hardee’s near by and you can shoot right down to the NOC to paddle the Nantahala.
Site has a port o let which was completely clean. There was even a little grill to welcome us to the site. They are spacious.
Recommend sites 8 and 9.
