Welcome to the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina! At approximately 3,455 feet elevation we enjoy mountain breezes all summer PLEASE DO NOT ‘photo book’! We ask guests to please read through the details BEFORE booking a site. For example: not all tent sites are park at sites. Some of our more secluded sites in the woods are far from bathrooms etc. Sites near the winery/bathrooms are not secluded and you can see/hear ‘people’. The ‘wildlife’ sites require parking in guest parking and a 5 minute walk. As of Jan 2025 we change to an age 13+ campground. No one under the age of thirteen years old is permitted to camp overnight. Younger children will still be permitted to visit the winery next door to the campground during open hours but must have an adult (18 years plus) with them at ALL times! Due to an incident that could have ended in tragedy we have a zero tolerance policy of unsupervised children. You will be asked to leave if your young child is unattended by an adult. During the summer months we often have free range chicken eggs and organic produce and herbs available for our campers. We are next to our own winery/cidery that features home brew wines and beer. We also offer sodas. Firewood is for sale. You may bring your own firewood as long as it’s not from out of state. We have a few primitive sites in our woods for those who love more seclusion and places to hang hammocks. Again, PLEASE read through all the descriptions of each particular site to make certain you choose the right fit for your camping needs. We offer Hiking/jogging trails at the campground with more trails on the nearby blue ridge parkway. We are just around the corner from the famous Emerald Village Mines and only a 5 minute drive to downtown Little Switzerland. We are also only a 5 minutes drive to the famous Diamondback scenic mountain road. Approximately 20 minutes drive to Crabtree Falls on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our cantina next door at 539 blue ridge gem mine road is open for the season and serving home brew beers and small batch ciders for ages 21 and older. Photo ID required. Sodas available for purchase as well. We now have a well lit covered porch area and club house with free WiFi and available 24 hours to our campers. Note: absolutely no outside alcohol or underage alcohol consumption permitted on premises. Anyone not in compliance with North Carolina state laws and federal laws will be evicted from campgrounds without refunds. If the campgrounds happen to be under a burn ban please understand that we can’t and will not break the law for you! All campers must obey the burn ban if in effect or face possible penalties under state law! This is for your own safety as well. Anything sold by us may be legally consumed at your campsite and is covered under our winery ABC permit. Camp host can’t go to bed until all campers are checked in so no late night arrivals please! Thank you for your understanding. Adult horseback trail rides are available at nearby Springmaid Mountain Retreat. Maps provided to Springmaid Mountain. All minors must have ADULT supervision at all times at the winery next door (older siblings do not qualify as adult supervision). With farm animals and 140 acres of woods nearby and three deep ponds in those woods it can be a dangerous situation for young, unsupervised children. If we are babysitting your children to keep them out of danger or from damaging our property you’ll be asked to leave. We want everyone to be safe. Up to 2 dogs are allowed per campsite. Dogs Must remain on leash at all times and have proof of up to date rabies vaccination. We have chickens and horses on our mini farm so please keep dogs under control at all times. Also, please do not feed our chickens, horses or any of the wildlife on our property. It is the responsibility of our campers to check the weather conditions, noting any burn bans for the area or rain etc, looking at all the rules and property details, before booking is the campers responsibility. Please do not blame the host! HipCamp now offers rainy day insurance Watch for our special events like ghost story campfire tales/walk with local guest authors, mountain yoga, herbal remedies classes, trail treasure hunts with prizes, mushroom identification classes etc. Additional parking is available for added cars in the guest parking lot area if campers have no more room at their campsite for visitors or any extra cars. We have a hot/cold shower and modern style flush toilets available in large cargo container. We also now have free Starlink WiFi in the Cantina/clubhouse area and some of the closer tent sites. Our clubhouse stays open for campers 24/7 with a microwave available, games, television and comfortable seating areas. Note: The quarter mile of gravel drive is steep but I drive my two wheel drive car up and down it every day. However, if you have a vehicle that chugs and struggles up hills (older RV etc) you may find it a challenge. We are working on getting that section paved to help out the older RVs and buses. Note: The gray building and pond area is NOT our property. Please be respectful of our neighbors and the family that lives there. Do not wander around our neighbors pond /barn area. Thank you! All campers are expected to read and follow the HipCamp guidelines. This is not just a ‘business’, it is also a family home that we are graciously sharing with you for a small fee so we expect campers to respectful of our land, our neighbors and your fellow campers. Anyone who can’t show integrity, maturity and be responsible and respectful of this will be asked to leave and/or permanently banned from both the winery and our campgrounds. No fighting! This includes couples fighting. Settle it 'off property'. We are pretty mellow, yet take bad behavior and disrespect for others very seriously. Unsupervised children has been a huge problem lately and we simply won’t tolerate very young children wandering the woods, running across other folks campsites, deliberately damaging our property etc. It is up to the parents to fully supervise their children and keep them safe! Caught without a last minute hotel room and rather not park your family in Walmart lot? We offer car camping in our parking lot for $15.00 a night. You’ll have access to bathrooms and a hot shower! We also have tents, sleeping bags and camping mats for rent. Summer of 2025 will be our third year open and there have been many wonderful improvements! ❤️ We made it through Hurricane Helene with minimal damage and with the help of some kind volunteers we have some great updates!

Simple tent site on comfortable mulch bed nestled along the tree line yet a short distance from the bathrooms and showers. Fire pit at site. Fits a 10 x 10 size tent and smaller. Short walk from guest parking to this site. This is not a ‘park at site’ spot. Close to wooded area so a lot of wildlife at this location. There is a back trail to reach this site. Please ask host for instructions. We are here to assist at all times. Close to the common fire pit area where all campers and winery guests can mingle. If you need seclusion we recommend the Gold Dust, the Quartz, the Moonstone or the RV site ‘the Palomino’. The secluded sites cost a little more. We are located just around the corner from Emerald Village Gem Mines and Mining Museum. Trails for hiking/jogging on property. Only a 5 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Little Switzerland. 5 minutes drive to the scenic Diamondback motor route. 20 minutes drive to Crabtree Falls and a 30 minute drive to Linville Falls. Our on site cantina is now open and serves small batch home brew ciders and beers for age 21 and older. Sodas are also available for purchase. ABSOLUTELY NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL brands permitted on premise! This goes against NC state law for winery/breweries and against our policy. As of Jan. 2025 no one under the age if 13 may camp overnight at our campground. Younger children may visit the winery during open hours but must be with an adult (18 or older) at ALL times! We have a zero tolerance policy regarding unsupervised children! Parents/Guardians are financially responsible for accidental or intentional damages by children. We have had some problems with this. Please do not trespass on our neighbors property down by the gray buildings and pond area! A young family lives there and you’ll frighten their little girl. Note: there is no self check in and ask that all guests be checked in no later than our quiet hour starting at 11:00 pm so you do not disturb other campers and our neighbors. Our host cannot go to bed until last camper is checked in. If you have an emergency and can’t make final check in please let the host know immediately. A wooded site that’s semi secluded with 3 hammock sites. We have hammocks for rent or bring your own. Potty tent with rustic potty provided. Ten minutes walk to flush toilets and hot showers. Firewood for sale! Please do not gather wood or cut down trees in our woods. Some types of wood are not suitable for fires etc. You may bring your own firewood as long as it’s not from out of state. Please be respectful of our property. Occasionally we have burn bans during dry periods that do not allow fires. Fire pit and bench seat at this site. Nearby flat area for one 6x6 tent or smaller. Very rustic yet comfortable. Note: short walk to site. This is not a ‘park at site’ campsite. Cars park in guest parking area. A simple flat 10x8 semi secluded tent site back in the woods near the horse pasture. Guests park at the guest parking area and have a ten minute walk back to this campsite (again, not a park at site). Ten minute walk down paths to bathrooms/showers. Has a charcoal style stove and two hammock areas. A nice Wildlife area. Horses are put up in paddock at night. Abundant wildlife in this area including coyotes. Store food in your car at night.

A backwoods site with small stove and hammock site. Walk in only. Campers at this spot have to park in guest parking and walk in. Ten minute walk to bathrooms and shower. High wildlife viewing area. Has spot for up to 4 hammocks. If you do not like primitive camping back amongst the trees and critters this site is not for you! Must be age 13 and older to camp at this site. No one under the age of 13 may camp overnight at our campground. Younger children may visit but must be with an adult (18 or older) at ALL times. We have a zero tolerance policy regarding unsupervised minors. Not really good for tents since it is not level. Site can accomodate up to four hammocks comfortably. A semi secluded wooded area. A lovely spot for bird lovers with four types of owls hanging out back there

Parking spot will also accommodate a 16ft self contained RV or camper van for same nightly fee. Additional parking available in guest parking areas. Campground is Around the corner from Emerald Village. Only a 5 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Little Switzerland. We are approximately a 20 minute drive to Crabtree Falls and 35 minutes drive to Linville Falls. 5 minutes drive to the scenic Diamondback motor route! Failure to comply with this very important safety rule may result in eviction from the campground/winery property. Please be aware that there are black bears and other wildlife near property. Camp sites must be cleaned before sundown each evening. Trash cans provided. Note: No late night check ins. This is not a self check in facility. A large 12x12 raised bed tent site that can accommodate up to 10 people. A 16 ft or smaller RV will fit in the parking area or 2 vehicles. Additional parking available at guest parking lot. Large fire pit area. Hiking trails on property. 2 dogs permitted on leash at all times. Just around the corner from Emerald Village and only 5 minutes drive from downtown little Switzerland. Hot/cold Shower and bathroom located at nearby cantina. Winery cantina is now open and serving small batch cider wines and beers for ages 21 and older. Absolutely no outside alcohol or under age drinking permitted! All campers must obey NC state and federal laws! Coffee and Sodas are also available for purchase. Adult horseback riding available at nearby Springmaid Mountain Resort. Maps provided. 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Only a 20 minute drive to beautiful Crabtree Falls. We sell firewood. You may bring your own firewood as long as it’s not from out of state. Please don’t scavenge for wood on the property. No one under the age of 13 may camp overnight. Younger children may visit but must be with an adult (18 or older) at ALL times! Our farm can be a dangerous place and we have zero tolerance regarding unsupervised children. Note: No late night check ins please. This is not a self check in facility and all campers are asked to check in no later than 11:00 pm. Gate closes at 11:30 pm out of consideration for your fellow campers and our neighbors. Thank you!

A refurbished 1986 RV that sleeps up to four people (70" long 40" wide area at table section). Queen size bed with doggy bed beside Queen bed. Two dogs permitted. picnic table, fire pit, microwave. Firewood for sale. You may bring your own firewood if it’s not from out of state. Please do not scavenge for wood on the property. At this time only toilet/sink works. Hot showers available at clubhouse. No oven. Hiking/jogging trails on property. Adult horseback trail rides available at nearby Springmaid Mountain Resort. Maps provided. We are around the corner from Emerald Village Mines and only a 5 minutes drive to downtown Little Switzerland and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We are also located 5 minutes away from the famous Diamond back scenic mountain route. We are approximately a 20 minute drive to Crabtree Falls on the Blue Ridge Parkway. 30 minutes drive to Linville Falls. Additional parking available in guest parking lot. Please note all overnight campers must be age 13 or older due to farm. A very spacious site. Our clubhouse cantina is open and serves small batch beers and ciders for age 21 and older when winery section is open. Photo ID required. Sodas available for purchase. Absolutely no outside alcohol is permitted on winery grounds or the campgrounds area. This is NC state law for winery/breweries and our policy! Our clubhouse area is open 24/7 and has a microwave, television, various board games and seating area. Again, No one under the age of 13 may camp overnight at our campground. We also require adult supervision of visiting minors at ALL times (an older sibling under the age of 18 does NOT qualify as adult supervision) If we are forced to babysit your young children to prevent accidents and/or damage to our property our visitors/campers will be asked to leave without a refund. Your children are your responsibility at ALL times! Parents/guardians are financially responsible for any accidental or intentional damages by their children. Please do not feed any of the animals on farm or trespass onto the gray buildings/pond area below us! A young family lives there and you’ll frighten their little girl. NOTE: This is not a self check in facility. Please arrive for check in no later than 10:00 pm. Thank you! Doggy fence finished by 10/28

The Sapphire Tent Site
We had such a great stay! The shower was perfectly warm, the stars were beautiful, and the cidery that Chrissy and Tony built truly made our whole experience. They offer a bunch of fun cider flavors and a communal fire pit where everyone can relax together. We sat around for a long time just sipping and listening to stories by the fire. It was exactly what we needed!

We had such a wonderful time at this Hipcamp site! The hosts were absolutely amazing—so friendly, welcoming, and easy to talk to. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and had everything we needed. The setting was beautiful and relaxing, and the homemade cider was incredible—definitely a highlight of our trip! Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a cozy, friendly, and memorable getaway.

The Gold Dust
Sadly we had to cancel our trip due to a family emergency. As a business owner myself I’d make exceptions for family emergencies. When I reached to the host she didn’t even reply with empathy. I didn’t even expect a refund but at least a kind message would have been comforting during such a hard moment. Kindness is all it takes to be left a good review.

The Emerald
We had a great stay at the Mica site. It's the perfect size for our vehicle and tent, there's even a hammock, and small table and chairs provided plus a fire pit. We really enjoyed having drinks from the cidery while the soft strains of live music could be heard from our campsite. The walking trails (including a Halloween decorated trail in October!) are fun and the horses are lovely. Very conveniently located close to Emerald Village gem mine and Little Switzerland cafe. Everyone at the camgrounds were awesome and very kind, we can't wait to visit again!

Cute space. We were only there for a quick overnight stay and a shower. That being said, I wish we had known there was a five minute limit on hot water ahead of time. After five minutes, the water turns cold, which really put a damper on an evening shower.

We had a great stay! It was the perfect weekend getaway and Chrissy was so friendly. The property was gorgeous, and we loved saying hello to the horses before setting up camp! Would definitely recommend.

Ohhhh wow!! This place is everything you could want in a Hipcamp and more. I arrived at the perfect time of year—for mw—nearing peak leaf season. The chill in the air, the leaves turning, the rustle of leaves under your feet while you hike the many trails around the property. Ask Tony and he will give you treats for the horses. They love apples! I was greeted by Chrissy and shown my camping site at the gate. Thier warm homemade chai cider is delish! Especially in the cooler months. I didn’t want to leave! I was full on ready to ask if I could just live there and support them in taking care of that piece of land. And there is so much to do in that area!! I, myself, just needed to chill, so I didn’t partake in all there is to see in that part of NC. But there is so much to explore. I’ll be back!!

Great experience, met Cassie and Tony when we arrived and they gave us a quick tour, great vibe and the winery/brewery gift shop was amazing and unexpected. The beer was outstanding and the mixed drinks were excellent! Camp sites were rustic but fun and had chairs, picnic table and fire pit. Well worth the stop if your in the area!

The Mica Tent Site
I loved camping by the Little Switzerland Orchard, Cidery, Winery & Brewery. The brews were great, and the atmosphere was too. Chrissy was above and beyond accommodating, and went above and beyond to help us with a tent when we realized ours was missing a vital pole to build it.

We had a great time staying in the RV! The campground is very cool with a brewery and some walking trails. The hosts were very nice and accommodating. The location is near the Blue Ridge Parkway and lots of things to do. We would love to stay here again!

The Ruby
Chrissy's campground was incredible! We stayed on the Ruby land, and it felt like we were in our little paradise. Chrissy was so, so kind. We LOVED sitting by the fire with the local brews from the canteen. Good company and great hosts. All around 10/10. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area, and we hope to make it back ourselves soon :) I also left my hat, and Chrissy kindly offered to mail it back to me. Again, the best hosts!

A very beautiful area to rest and relax, walk the trails or hang out at the clubhouse/communal area. The host Chrissy and her husband are tremendously caring people with an outstanding hospitality based approach to camping. The site was perfect and well kept and true to its natural surroundings of wilderness and beautiful abundance of butterflies! The clubhouse has a variety of elements to entertain a crowd including tasty beers and ciders made on site. A perfect spot for relaxing, family vacations, hiking trips, etc. You will not be disappointed

Absolutely loved camping here! Our hosts could not have been nicer and accommodating. Our site was secluded enough to be able to enjoy quiet solitude but close enough to offered amenities, like the bathroom and bar. Was a fun atmosphere to be in and would highly recommend the site.

Chrissy and Tony were fantastic hosts! I was the only camper so privacy wasn’t an issue, but they have more private campsites that were longer walks to rh bathroom shower and sites that were closer to each other but closer to amenities and parking. Tony’s cider was top tier, but their kindness and hospitality was as good as it gets. There are some neighboring dogs/roosters that you’ll hear when laying down, but that’s the outdoors for ya. Will definitely be coming back to camp and hang out at this great spot!

Excellent stay and such sweet hosts! Enjoyed everything available on the property including feeding the horses! The extra $10 for a set up tent with luxury air mattress was worth every single penny!

What a lovely surprise this place was! Chrissy was such a helpful and easy going host. The property is peaceful and the camp sites are spread out nicely. My dogs enjoyed seeing chickens and horses and next time we’ll explore the trails. I was traveling solo and felt very safe. I enjoyed chatting with the other campers in the common area and also the privacy of my tent site. I also loved the peach pepper cider! Looking forward to another stay soon!

This place is perfect. As a person that has done a lot of budget travel, I feel like Chrissy and Tony create an environment where you are never in need of anything but they give lots of space. I was greeted with homemade food and nice conversation. Got a personal tour of all the sites, less than ten sites, and they provided me with the ideal sight for my motorcycle and hammock tent. For a picturesque family style environment and a smoking price, this place is a great find.
