Biodynamic Herb Farm Tent Camping
Avoid
Hey campers! While this campsite might look nice from the photos, these were the following problems we experienced on a recent trip:
-The host was not there and did not provide clear enough instructions to find the area to campsite on his property. He stated he would be there the evening we arrived.
-When we faced a problem, the host was not there to help nor did he respond in a timely manner — we were unable to get ahold of him for 14 hours.
-The host had promised to mow us some camping areas, however when we arrived we found he had not mowed the property at all, and we were forced to set up camp in foot-long grass. You know what loves overgrown grass? Ticks.
-The host did not provide instructions as to how to access the potable water
That sums up our recent camping trip with Gabe. We're all experienced campers who know what it's like to be in the backcountry, but for the cost of two nights at this campsite (which was a whopping $436 for 10 people to spread out) we expected better. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!
Additionally, we requested a refund from Hipcamp as the host was away and was unable to help. Hipcamp then ghosted us, so I'm not sure how I feel about using the site in the future. You've been warned!

Gabe's farm is beyond beautiful!!! I highly recommend for a relaxing tent adventure. Gabe was super helpful with directions and accommodations. My family and I had some great laughs and created lovely memories there.

Biodynamic Bungalow Creekside - ec75
Amazingly beautiful farm in the North Carolina mountains. Very cool host, Gabe was awesome and we learned a lot from him about the farm and the process of production they use. Ample camping space with a nice river running along the back side of the property. Good hiking and fishing nearby. Delicious fresh tea and herbs. Relaxing, and welcoming hosts. Easy access to kitchen/bathroom. We'll be back for sure.

Biodynamic Bungalow Creekside - ec75
I'm going to write a longer version of this in the future, so I'll try to keep this simple.
Before arrival, I had no idea what Biodynamic meant. After a talk about the principles and ideas associated with, I learned that it's essentially the most "pure" form of organic farming. Whatever you think "organic farming" should be, is what this actually is. We had tea (from his farm) with our host, Gabe before doing a short tour of the area. It was phenomenal. After leaving, I had to buy some of his Holy Basil. I brought it back, and compared it to a friend's "organic/fair trade" version, and his was a night and day difference in quality. My mind is still a little blown.
As for the property, it's a pretty big farm! Plenty of space to sprawl out, and at any given time he has several interns camping out, learning the process. So you're always in good company. We saw the fields before bloom, and they're still picturesque. The bungalow looks incredibly comfortable! He also has a permanent bus parked with a deck, that's utilized as a kitchen/bathroom area, so for the less adventurous you're still good to go.
I highly recommend the "biodynamic bungalow creekside" to stay, and look forward to coming back someday. The drive into town is beautiful as well.
