Private Campsite Amazing Lake View
This place was seriously another planet. The view was amazing and Heske has been absolutely kind and gave us complete privacy as well as easy directions to the site. The table on site definitely came in handy too. In the daytime, we saw tons of birds and even a few deer coming out of the woods. We also saw a black bear walking down the hill. At night, we could hear coyotes in the distance and owls talking! One owl sure gave us a spook when we were sleeping and decided to sing in the tree next to our tent! Of course, campers should be mindful of ticks and wasps. If you're looking for super private camp spots, this is it! This is easily our new favorite spot to camp!

Private Campsite Amazing Lake View
Heaven on Earth
My wife and I were looking for a private camping getaway to recharge and came across this spot. We didn’t know what to expect but took a chance on it and all I can say is WOW! It far exceeded our expectations. The view and privacy were unmatched, and having Cooperstown a short drive away was icing on the cake. I highly suggest this spot if you’re looking for a spiritual experience with a loved one.

We enjoyed our time of solitude with the beautiful view!!! Needed a little more guidance with signs before arriving to actual campsite. Besides that it was nice and peaceful!!

Sunset View over a Glimmering Lake!
This is our new favorite hipcamp. So peaceful and quiet, had a view of the sunset, and so close to all the things we love: beaches and breweries.
We will definitely be back!
Things to know:
Bring a hatchet, but there is lots of dead wood for fires
If it's wet, it will be tough to get back to
Be ready for some wind! It was pleasant for us since it was hot.

Private Campsite Amazing Lake View
Pup's first camping trip
If you are looking for a nice, private campsite with amazing views, look no further. We were in town during a cross-country road trip and decided to stay for a couple nights so we could check out the Baseball Hall of Fame. It was the perfect spot for us since it was also our dog's first nights camping. He loved it! The views of the lake are unbeatable and Cooperstown is just down the road. The site itself was very private and quiet.
The dirt road leading to the site is a bit rugged, definitely heed the advice of other reviews when it comes to visiting during rain. Luckily it was dry while we were there.
Heske was a great host, she gave us great directions and pizza recommendations in town (Bocca Osteria + these views = good times)

Private Campsite Amazing Lake View
Beautiful site
This was an absolutely beautiful spot to camp. The road up is muddy, so AWD was helpful. At the top the view is amazing, and there's a nice flat area with a fire pit. Heske was easy to reach and available for help with directions. Location is close to Cooperstown and Ommegang. We would definitely return.

Private Campsite Amazing Lake View
I stayed here for a night with my dog. Due to recent rain, the road was a little muddy going up, but not an issue with my car (Subaru Outback). Unfortunately, it was overcast when I was there so I didn't get to enjoy sunset. I did see some nice colors during sunrise through the trees. I stayed here because I wanted to visit Ommegang Brewery and this spot was the perfect option to camp. It had everything I needed. The following day, I visited Glimmerglass State Park and a quick trip to Cooperstown. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a place to with a great view (still greath even though it was overcast) in the area.

Beautiful spot!
What a stunning location! Perfect for primitive camping. Make sure to bundle up, as wind off the lake can be chilly. And heed Heske’s advice when it comes to the road up to the campsite - it can be a bit dodgy. We had a wonderful time cooking & looking over the lake. Would highly recommend!

Lovely upstate campground
Beautiful and secluded camping spot overlooking Otsego lake. This was a great spot tucked away on a hill overlooking the lake. We had a fantastic view of the stars at our campfire.

Made it to site. Looked to be an awesome view, even in stormy weather. Did not stay due to radar showing major storms all night into morning. Sorry we were unable to enjoy more time at this site.

Quiet with a great view!
Heske's spot was great! Very quiet and a great view. We pulled a 26ft camper in. It's not for the novice. 4wd was required due to it being wet from having rained quite a bit previously. Definitely worth the journey if you're looking for something quiet and off the beaten path. It's really convenient to the lake and Cooperstown.

We had a great time on Heske’s land. It was quiet, private and had a great view overlooking Otsego lake. At night we were treated to a light show of hundreds of fireflys. Heske was very responsive and helpful. We are looking forward to coming back.

Private Campsite Amazing Lake View
RV review.
Amazing view. Heske was a fast responder and let us have our privacy. The sight view is amazing and worth the adventure to get to. Warning to people with campers you will rub tree branches. Also the last part of the road is a field edge and was wet and had ruts you will need 4x4 and ground clearance on your trailer. Lastly. Turing around a trailer is not for the amateur. The sight is on a plowed field we had to do a 12 point turn around. If you are feeling adventurous do it, it's worth the drive in what an amazing place. We will do it again when I know it hasn't rained for some time.

The view at this campsite was breathtaking! We certainly enjoyed our stay (even in a rainstorm) and would definitely come back again! A helpful tip to future hipcampers would be to arrive with a car that has four wheel drive (the trail leading up to the campsite can be a little rough, especially after rain).

A fantastic view just a short drive away from Cooperstown! We were blown away by the view of Otsego Lake after we drove up to the campsite. Despite a heavy rainstorm for the one night of our stay, we would definitely come back and spend more time at the campsite! Bring bug spray:)
