Description is accurate. It was a great place to camp for a night. It was quiet except for the frogs and owls :) We did see a black bear in the morning so be aware they are in the area.

The knoll was the perfect place to camp with the dogs there are plenty of little watering holes within a very short drive. The site was everything you need the screened in area was ideal to get out the rain or sit down and eat. Will be back for sure

We loved camping here. Easy to set up and the site was just as described. Fire wood provided and even a covered fully screened gazebo was available with a small bistro set inside to use if needed. Be sure to pack up all food at night and store it securely - we had some sort of big critter walking around but too dark to really tell what it might have been. Small pond available to fish, unfortunately we just didn’t have enough time to throw a line in. Off grid is definitely true - don’t expect to have cell service, but in our opinion that’s sometimes not a bad thing!! Easy to pack out with trash containers available on the way out/in. All in all - we’d definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to come back!! Close to Woodstock which made our visit that much more perfect!! Thanks for the quiet little night away, well worth it.

Very easy to get to. Very accessible. The pond was very peaceful to wake up next to. Very CLEAN and so convenient to to get into Woodstock, Bearsville, Kingston and the rest of the Catskills 10/10 would stay again

Wonderful spot -- very peaceful and tons of flat space to pitch a tent. About 8 minutes from the Town as well and not far from a plethora of hikes.
To note: the road is visible from the campsite and not far away, but it is a small quiet backcountry-ish road that does not get a ton of use -- it did not bother us.

Such a beautiful little treat in the wilderness! A complete shutoff, as there is TINY, if any, service! It’s lovely! You can see every star in the sky! Hear the wildlife! It’s HEAVEN! Our second time here and cannot wait for more! Cannot recommend this spot enough!!!

Had a wonderful time at the site. It was quiet, beautiful and peaceful. The host was very nice and gracious to provide wood for our fire. The only thing that was a bit of a challenge was there were no toilet to use for #2 although we knew that from the site description. But we managed and the overall experience was great. Thumbs up to the site and host.

Beautiful, quiet and spacious field surrounded by woods. Beautiful sunset and open sky view for starts at night. Enjoyed the camp fire and large table was great plus! The host was really kind, responsive and welcoming.
For travers who are thinking about coming without driving (like me)
I took Trailways buss from Port authority and got off at Woodstock. I pre-booked taxi service to get around Woodstock (AJ Airport runs) — I heard there is a few uber driver in Woodstock and a bit hard to catch (I tested several times but wait time was around 20min). If you can drive, that would be the best here but if not, you can still enjoy Woodstock if you plan accordingly!

Thank you Peter & Laurel! The Knoll is a serene, mostly private, slice of land adjacent to a pond, a few houses, and a road that is not busy. Flat ground, proper stone fire pit, solid picnic table, bundle of wood in plastic and a pile of deadfall. Very easy to navigate to the site by car, and ample level grass to park my small cargo van, within a stones throw of the fire pit. No interaction needed with the host, as the advertisement is accurate. Bass will bite on earthworms.

My partner and I loved staying at the Knoll! It is a truly beautiful oasis that feels private and calm while also being a short drive from town. Would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for an easy, accessible spot with plenty of space and privacy.

The site is pretty private though there is a house close by. The site is level with a nice fire pit. I'm not sure what happened but we didn't have water or wood waiting. Unfortunately T-Mobile had no service up there so I couldn't reach out to the host. But there was plenty of wood laying around and we brought water so it was no big deal. One note I would point out: I had thought of biking to the trails from the site but the site is up a steep and winding road. Personally I was not comfortable biking out after we got there. Not the the hosts fault but just FYI. Overall we had a great night!

Wonderful camping spot. Great communication and the location can’t be beat. Perfect for seeing a show at Levon Helm Studios. Great run/hike at Snake Rock Preserve a mile up the road. Will be returning for sure.
