About the Property: Our unique property boasts quiet camping on a beautifully manicured MotoTrials Riding and Obstacle Play Course. 2025 marks our first year offering camping to the public, and we look forward to HipCampers joining us in our unique venue. All 4 camping sites are nestled into the Obstacle course. Trials riders and non-Trials Riders alike will find much to enjoy here. Campers unfamiliar with Trial are welcome to take advantage of a Lesson on one of our Rental Bikes, while the Obstacle Course is also super-fun on foot (for walks or runs), mountain bike, trials bicycle, or for playing with your RC rock climber! We have night lighting to turn on at your request, even if just to sit in the evening and enjoy the lights reflecting off the pond-We surely do! We are located on NY 38 but our traffic is not obnoxious (just Log and Milk Trucks, Farm Tractors and Commuters). It is very peaceful here. Your camping can be as private, quiet and leisurely as you wish. The views and big sky are gorgeous in our corner of farm country. Our small pond (tho not suitable for fishing or swimming) provides entertainment w/ turtle sunbathing raft and lots of nature's visitors. Pets always welcome off-leash with your guidance. About the Trials Riding: We host 6 Mototrial events each season (see below) and if spectating appeals, you can plan your trip to coincide. You're in for a treat if you've never seen these nimble motorcycles do their 'thing'... up, over, and around the obstacles. Events are busy and exciting, but no worries (!) trials bikes are not loud. Riders are friendly and considerate. If spectating is not your thing- no worries either. Non-event days are very laid back. On any given day if Trials riders come here for practice (or instruction with Mike) it's not loud or invasive, nor interferes with any camper training or play on the course. When riders are here (barring events), it's typically only 2-4 riders at a time. Multiple activities co-exist quite nicely here as there is plenty of room for all. There are many days no one is on the course at all (!) and you may have it all to yourself or possibly with another camper. Hope to see you in our slice of heaven! (Note: Fall/Winter Camping available, please message for current conditions)The Landing is a 160' x 27' (at its narrowest point) beautifully level stone gravel RV site with electricity and water hook ups that can easily accommodate two RVs. The Landing is at the outermost edge of the obstacle course providing beautiful views of the Pond and Course. The Landing has its own entrance from the country road that runs behind it, making for easy in and out. Landing has its own fire pit with firewood provided. Activity on the Obstacle Course is just a few feet away for your viewing pleasure or participation. We give occasional Mototrial instruction on parts of the course, but this activity is neither loud nor invasive to your relaxing time here, nor would it interfere with your own training or playing on the course. We co-exist with multiple activities quite nicely here as there is plenty of room for all. We host 6 Mototrial events here each season and you may wish to plan your trip to coincide. Events are busy and exciting, but no worries (!) trials bikes are not loud. If you have never seen these nimble riders and nimble motorcycles do their 'thing'... up, over, and around the obstacles...you're in for a treat if you come on event day. Aside from these occasional busier activities, we are (as yet) an undiscovered jewel out here in farm country. There's a good chance you'll have the place all to yourself or sharing only with the other camper guests. No matter what's going on here, peace and tranquility always rein supreme with both the people and the surroundings. We have lights for the entire course and we are happy to turn them on at your request, even if you'd just like to sit in the evening and enjoy looking at the lights reflect off the pond. We do! Willow Pond Tract

Willow Pond Tract is large area of 2 distinct sections (one shaded, one partially shaded with open area). You may camp anywhere within it on either side of the small (park communal) pathway. The partially shaded and open (southern) portion is roughly 23' at narrowest to 43' wide x 140'. There are many lovely options for setup within the large, open southern portion. Willow's adjacent section is a shaded portion (northwest) and is directly under the Willow tree. It is roughly 12' x 25.' It is suitable for tents and small RVs or camper vans. Occasionally it can be difficult to drive an RV from its northwest approach if we've had prolonged periods of continuous rain. In that case, an RV would need to use the southern area instead and approach from the south. Tenting under the willow would still be available, as it is always accessible by parking on the south side and walking the short distance using the pathway between the two sections of the site. The entire tract has ample room for several camp setups or combinations. Willow Tract runs along the pond on one side and nestled with the Obstacle course on the other. Due to its proximity to the Obstacle Course, there may be Trials Motorcycles riding by your area on the shared pathway or riding in the nearby Obstacle Section. This would be minimal or non-existent on a Non-event day. On a Non-event day this wouldn't be more than 2-4 riders at one time here for practice or instruction. (Or you may see no one during your entire stay) Please note that Trials Motorcycles are not loud and Riders are very considerate. Let us know if you have questions or concerns about this. We are happy to explain what we do here! Conversely, if you would like to spectate at one of our 6 Events (6/15, 7/27, 8/17, 9/14, 10/12, 11/9) and choose to camp at Willow Tract on one of the Event days, you will definitely be in the center of the hub bub. It's exciting and fun and we promise that no one will run you over! If you are staying during non-event times, it's quiet with just a few riders at a time, (if any) as mentioned. (Please see Property Description) Willow Tract comes with a firebowl and firewood provided, Privacy tent with Portable toilet, and table with 2 chairs. These will be set up for you upon booking.

Hilltop Y.C.

Hilltop Y.C. (Your Choice) is an area (smaller than Willow Pond Tract) located at the top of the hill a little behind and on the west side of the BS and B Barn. It is suitable for tents and camper vans and can accommodate larger if Mike shows you the position. (Please contact us if in doubt.) This simple grassy area is for those preferring a spot with a hilltop view. There are several options for setup within Hilltop. The entire area is approx. 200ft x 300 ft from the top sloping down to the bottom. It is roughly 100' x 100' at the largest flat spot on the hilltop and there are a couple of other possibilities within Hilltop Y.C. , that are small and flat (or moderately flat) to pitch a tent amongst the Pear trees on the hillside. The entire area of Hilltop is nestled within the Obstacle course, as all the sites here are. Due to its proximity to the Obstacle Course, there may be Trials Motorcycles riding by your area on shared pathways or riding in the nearby Obstacle Section. This would be minimal or non-existent on a Non-event day. On a Non-event day this wouldn't be more than 2-4 riders at one time here for practice or instruction. BS and B (Bright Spots and Blemishes) is this sweet shelter. A former tool and hay barn-now a camping experience similar to tenting, but rainproof and several steps up. Not fancy. Quaint and quirky. Barn is 12'x18' two-story shelter on hill above RV Landing. Nestled in Obstacle Course. Sliding glass door and windows (no screens). Loft door has beautiful views: Sky, Pond, Surrounding Valley, and the Course. Short dirt road directly to Barn. Parking in front. Primitive electric. Power cords for fans, charging devices, CPAP etc. Please! No cooking or eating inside barn in order to keep out Nature's opportunists! Campfire stick cooking (Firebowl and firewood provided) or bring your own (outdoor) grill. Picnic table under overhang, just outside. First floor has double size Futon (BYO Bedding) atop former billiard table with a small step case. Single cot available for possibly sleeping 3 downstairs. Upstairs loft has folded double size futon on narrow frame (set up for sitting). Mattress may be opened and placed on the floor (also BYO Bedding). Ample floor space for additional 2 sleeping bags (possibly sleeping 4 in Loft). Small tents or hammocks (one hammock provided) can be set up inside barn as well. Waking up to sunrise with Loft door open or stargazing...is enchanting. But...as with all things in our plus and minus world, this sweet Barn has a few detractors not suiting the sensibilities of all campers. These are: *Barn is very similar to tent camping and you should pack accordingly. Please bring your own bedding or sleeping bags to throw atop the futons. Keep food in car or coolers outside to discourage pests. Please eat outside. *Barn is meant to be an open-air experience. Bed Netting (provided) or Thermacell (available by donation) if needed for bugs. *Loft may not be suitable for small children due to open staircase and open potential of Loft door. *Loft ceiling is traditional gambrel roof- tall campers note- loft center ceiling is 6'1" with sides sloping down. *In summertime--loft can be hot until sun goes down. However, there's good cross ventilation with both ends open, and we have provided some fans. For the right campers, both floors in the Barn are heaven...while being close to nature.

This is your on stop spot for motorcycle Trials. Mike and Laurel have made a welcoming spot on the hillside for RV's. Easy access to parking from the road. They provided us with a nice welcome packet. That had plenty of information about the area. Places to eat or see. Most people who camp here will be coming for riding. Mike offers lessons as well. But it would a nice spot for anyone looking for a getaway. Don't be put off by the riding. This is not a motocross track. You might be amazed at seeing riders tackling the obstacles and trials bikes are quiet. You might even want to try it yourself? Looking forward to a summer stay. Thanks.

Second trip!
BS and B- Barn On the Hill
This was my second time staying at the little barn on the hill and my first solo trip there. It was a rainy autumn afternoon when I showed up but perfectly cozy inside the hayloft, where I set up my hammock. Laurel got me acquainted with the many new amenities, as they seem to always be making wonderful upgrades to the property. Mike and Laurel's land is the perfect place for me to go when I don't want the hassle of setting up my tent and want a wall and roof and a little electricity. To a tenter, this is a luxurious paradise and I can't wait to return.

Laurel was the sweetest host. The camp site was in pristine condition. Easy access to electric and water. Do note a road with speed off 55 mph is within a 100 yards of the camp site. Great place for a few days stay or even a quick overnight stay.

Staying at Mike’s and Laurel’s property was an amazing getaway! Close to great food and cute towns, less than 5 minutes from an amazing state park, and less than a half an hour away from Ithaca and some of the finger lakes! We also had an absolute riding Trial Motorcycles for the first time! I recommend the scavenger hunt to get familiar with the property and the Trial biking course. Looking forward to our next stay!

The Landing
We booked the Landing for a short stay for traning seminar about 30 minutes away. We were greeted by Laurel shortly after we arrived. The site was nice and everything we needed. We didnt stay long enough to really enjoy the site but they had a table a chairs firepit with chairs and firewood availabe to use. Would absolutley reccomend staying there if your looking for a place in the Finger Lakes area.

Mike and Laurel are awesome hosts. Great dark place for star gazing. I was up looking at late looking at the Milky Way. You Cant see that near a city. The cabin/shed was cool. Everything you need even a small fridge, flash light, water, outdoor faucet, sun heated shower and a place to charge phone. The outside looks like a resort. Got to see a green heron. Dont know about the WiFi but had great cell service. Don’t pass this by if you’re a camper. Way better than putting up a tent.

Came again for Obstacle Course (see July review-tent at Hilltop). Great training with my border collie. My gal brought mountain bike this time to play. A good time for all. Highly recommend for training and fun to walk in evenings. First time renting Barn was awesome, just as described-better even. Several steps up from tent but still open-air. Thought about plugging in space heater (provided) but decided we didn't want to close up loft. Really nice at night. We were cozy enough in our sleeping bags just like our tent-but with futon mattress underneath us-and dry. Location near Rt. 38 wasn't issue for road noise for us. Description spot on about traffic 'not obnoxious' and I think muffled some by hillside trees too. Any traffic heard from road--just went along in a gentle rhythm -- like everything else here. Hosts are super accommodating in every way. Old school people who are there when you need 'em and leave you alone when you don't. The only possible drawback was being asked not to eat inside Barn. I'm a crackers-in-bed kinda guy- but I understand it- and appreciate what the Hosts do to keep critters and bugs out of Barn. Likely it ain't easy in this country setting- so no problem. The weather was a little damp outside but we built fire in the fire bowl and enjoyed warm supper just fine. It IS camping after all (!) my girl reminded me. Our dog of course was fine with the outside eating rule. Will be back again (and again) great place great hosts.

The location was wonderful right in the middle of the finger lakes within a short distance to many lakes, wineries, breweries. The sites are very level and spacious with great views. The owners are gracious and friendly. The icing on the cake is if you have ever dreamed of riding a motorcycle dirt bike specifically a trials motorcycle. This is the place the owner is a world class rider with a incredible ability to teach, great prices.

What a cool piece of land this is! And you couldn't ask for better hosts than Laurel and Mike! Even before I booked, they were going above and beyond to make the trip special for my son and I. The barn, while delightfully rustic, had SO many amenities and was incredibly cozy. I opted to hang a hammock in the hayloft (THANK YOU BOTH FOR THE EYE HOOKS!!!) and sleeping in it in front of the open door overlooking the stars reflecting on the pond was magical. My son slept on the first floor and said that he was so comfortable. The obstacle course was a ton of fun for my son to ride his mountain bike around and just play around on. We loved walking down to the pond and watching the giant snapping turtle rest on the raft and the huge bullfrog tadpoles swimming around. We genuinely can't wait to be back!

A great place to stay

We enjoyed staying in “the barn” on Mike and Laurels Tryals Park property. It’s incredible, everything about staying there made for a perfect moto trials weekend. The views from up on the hill are beautiful and you’re right in the middle of the riding courses. I took 2 lessons from Mike and learned so much about what my weaknesses were and I know what I need to work on now. We’re 61 years old and my wife has balance issues so Laurel made sure to bring her a walking stick to watch me learn from the pro (Mike) The barn is very cozy, it’s actually more like a cottage with the upstairs loft. Very clean and welcoming. It’s just a perfect place to spend as long as you prefer. If you’re into motorcycle trials riding this is the place to be and the rv sights in addition to the barn assure that you won’t be driving around to hotels. One stop shop for trials lovers!! They have several different riding areas for different skill levels and a nice shop stocked with parts. Mike and Laurel are unique people. They are just the nicest people you could ever meet and call great friends. We’re going to book the barn again several times in the future as my lessons and first events progress. Your going to love this place and the awesome people running it!

My family of four had a wonderful stay at this little getaway place of Mike and Laurel's! The hosts are super friendly and welcoming. Even though it's a rustic shelter, they pay attention to a lot of details to make it inviting and comfortable. We love it so much that we decided to extend our stay for another day!

I Trail Run with my partner Buddy- Border Collie. I want to do OCR someday and this place caught my eye. Booked this so that my new girlfriend could see what Buddy and I do all the time- and where she could watch easily. This Obstacle Course is set up with 'points-to-get-gates' for MotoTrial dirt bikes. It was perfect for Trail Running and OCR practice. I ran/climbed the harder white line gates a few loops when we got there. Later Buddy and I walked together with my girlfriend the easier Orange Line gates under the lights. It was a great place for short course training and having a great time with a non-runner. Had the Course to ourselves. Off-Leash for Buddy was primo so he could run(and jump) the course with me. Hilltop camping great view. Eyesite to other sites- but far enough from other sites. Will come again when Mike changes to new Course Section Markers for his next Event. He's offered me my own Scorecard and to devise some parameters for myself. We plan to stay in Barn next time which Laurel showed us. Looks good. Mike apologized that some areas of Course were between mowing rotation. Looked fine to me. Place is well kept. We were invited to have wild black raspberries growing in Section 5. My girlfriend loved that. Hosts are honest, old-school, old-fashioned, courteous people. Available when we had a question- then disappeared for our privacy rest of time. Refreshing. Price so cheap for what's all here. No other place like this around that I know of.

Lauren And Mike were the best of hosts. They met me when I got here, showed me all the possible places I could park, and gave me a packet with information about local things to do and tips and hints about their campsite. They were the best and I would come back here anytime. They have been very communicative and even notified me when part of my set up had blown off center from the wind while I wasn’t here and came out and tied it back down for me. Their pond is teaming with wildlife, which was so cool to see and hear. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🐸

Great spot in Locke/Ithaca/Finger

This was a really great camping spot for our travel trailer. Mike and Laurel could not have been nicer and were excellent communicators. The site was easy to back into, and the hook ups were easily accessed. The site overlooks a pretty pond and the motorbike area. It was very quiet, even when there was a small group practicing on the motorbike course. We enjoyed watching them! There is a picnic table, Adirondack, chairs, and a fire pit. We had our windows open for sleeping, and there was a little car noise from route 38, but nothing that should get in the way of a good night sleep. We would definitely try to book here again if we are in the area, Locke is in a really beautiful part of the world. Thank you, Mike and Laurel.

Laurel and Mike are both so kind. It was a beautiful place to camp with a pond nearby and lots of frogs. I enjoyed watching the trail bike event also. Will definitely come back!

Barn perfect for us

My wife and I are on a 3 week trip with our dog. We intended on sleeping in a tent every night. This trip was to be as close to Nature as possible. Last night we just couldn't bear the thought of another 'wet tent' night and we landed here. So happy we did. The description is pretty spot on. It's a primitive shell that's been gussied up nicely. Was comfy and we loved that this more comfortable-and DRY departure from our tenting- didn't ruin our goal of being close to Nature-we still totally were. Morning was spectacular. Bird sounds greeted us. A Robin's nest (3 babies) above the toilet tent. Goose family -9-gently floating on the pond. Turtles climbing onto the raft after the storm. Bull Frogs serenading. Laurel showed us a small area (she had fenced in yesterday) on the hill below the barn- where she thought a painted turtle had laid her eggs. She also recounted a funny story of a handyman (in the past) who was found returning turtles to the pond- assuming they had lost their way. Imagine frustration for Mama turtle after that (well-intentioned misguided) good deed! And the faint scent of the Locust blossoms was "Just Lovely" according to my wife. Our off-leash four legged travel companion loved it too and my only regret is that we don't have more time to spend here. Hospitality and feeling of "make yourself at home" was high here. If "the right camper finds it heaven here" as per the description of the Barn...then we were the right campers. Highly recommend

Everything was last minute about deciding to go on this adventure- including signing up with HipCamp. So glad we did! We felt so welcome at the Tryals Park along with our little dog. We walked around the pond and property and felt very at home there. We took some advantage of the Obstacle Course- walking and climbing (a little, lol) on the rocks and logs. We actually felt like kids again. We really enjoyed watching Mike give instruction to a couple of riders on Sunday. The whole two days were just what the Dr. ordered for a relaxing stay away from the demands of home. We'll be back. Thanks Mike & Laurel for a great time.
