My husband and I love our Adirondack property and wanted to share it’s beauty with others. It is a park inside a park! We had some fun constructing our Rustic Roost with all recycled wood etc. I’m hoping to add more as time goes by.
You can enjoy the tall trees and quiet retreat without being far from all the outdoor amenities of the Adirondack Park boating, hiking, biking and lots more! Launch your canoe or kayak only 5 minutes away - easy public access to the Saranac River. The ‘New Land Trust’ is only 10 minutes away for great trails and mountain views. If you want a day trip for little city culture, Montreal, Canada is a little more than an hour away, or perhaps Burlington, Vermont with a nice ferry ride across Lake Champlain.

Camp in luxury under the roof of our open barn - no tent required! There is a romantic loft for sleeping, rustic camp kitchen, pots & pans, basic supplies, dining table (can be converted into a bed platform), toilet facilities, even an outdoor shower etc. Wood is supplied for the camp fire with meadow view, and you can also cook on the fire. Hot water, coffee and tea, supplied along with electricity- great for keeping your phone charged! If you prefer a more secluded in-the-woods tent site, this is also available in the back woods, a short walk away. This site is a lot more primitive.
We are pet friendly but on a leash only as owners have a dog as well.
A LUXURY GLAMPING PACKAGE is available by request to include sheets, towels, and continental breakfast at the Roost. This is for an additional $20. Per night, please ask when you book your reservation.

Excellent Hosts!
The Rustic Roost is a gorgeous little spot on equally beautiful property. The host Martha and her Husband David were extremely helpful and kind. Everything you need is provided and everything seemed like something out of a book. There are a lot of nice little trails around the area which were fun to explore. Unfortunately, our dog ran off after being spooked by fireworks and after hours of searching and with Martha’s help, we found him. I’ll never forget the kindness they showed us. We will absolutely be going back to the Rustic Roost! I highly recommend it.

The Rustic Roost
We had a great time tent camping at the Rustic Roost while we explored the area on motorcycles.
Also be sure to check out the Farmhouse Panty just down the road if you're looking for a great meal.

The Rustic Roost
Our experience at the Roost was amazing. We had everything we could’ve needed there, and it was easy to get to. The hosts Martha and David are super sweet human beings that took great care of us the whole stay, and gave us their garden grown veggies and ciders! They even cooked us a breakfast a day before we left, we couldn’t be more thankful for their hospitality and kindness.
The location was very convenient, and we did a lot of the Adirondack adventuring we wanted with not too long of a drive from the site.
Our trip was memorable and so was this site, we couldn’t recommend it more

The Rustic Roost
First Hipcamping Experience
This was our first Hipcamping experience and it was wonderful! Martha greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the charming Rustic Roost. It was a chilly evening and there was plenty of dry wood for our use. I had fun cooking in the outdoor kitchen. We decided to sleep in the loft and all had a restful night’s sleep. We ordered the luxury package and Martha brought out freshly baked cornbread, honey from her sister’s hive, homemade applesauce, and hot coffee the next morning.

The Rustic Roost
Great spot, sleeping inside under the big tent is great, has a full camp kitchen with propane stove dishes, utensils etc. Nice composing toilet. And only a mile from a really yummy farm to table diner with good GF options. I stopped there during a motorcycle trip and it was perfect for a rainy day to not have to pitch a tent. Wonderful hosts as well.

The Rustic Roost
Magical Retreat
Martha and David have created the most magical retreat in their open barn! They have thought of every detail - camp stove and every kitchen tool needed, wash basin, drinking water, rinsing water, electrical cord, bug netting and repellent, coffee, privy with compostable toilet, solar shower open to the field and woods, fire pit with plenty of dry wood for us, trails to explore in the woods... I could go on and on. Martha was there to greet us and show us around and then we had the place to ourselves. We didn't drive up to the barn as our converted van is about 10 ft. Tall and you have to drive between two apple trees and I was afraid we would take off a branch, but they allowed us to leave our van in their driveway which was so nice. This place is great if you're traveling without any camping gear as it's all provided. You may just want a sleeping pad or tent if you opt to not sleep in the loft. Really an incredible find!

The Rustic Roost
Rustic Roost is fantastic!
Exceptional stay at the rustic roost! Hosts were extremely nice and the accommodations struck the right balance of amenities that allowed me to rough it at my desired level. I was on a motorcycle excursion and this location was ideal. The shelter also doubled as a place to keep the bike out from the elements. Little thought out niceties like provided drinking water, and rinse water and paper towels.
