Highly recommend Taliaferro Farms! We immediately felt incredibly safe and comfortable at Delaney’s. The farm offers the perfect mix of privacy, and convenience of ample fresh fruits and veggies on-site and being minutes from New Paltz. It is rare to find such a fantastic location to camp. The site on the property is very private, spacious and overlooks a beautiful pond with a lovely view. No bugs. Our 4P tent stayed dry due to the lovely and huge platform. The composting toilet is very close to the site, is so clean and luxurious for those campers who appreciate the convenience of facilities. I can’t recommend staying at Taliaferro Farm more and am confident Delaney’s land is the best place to stay in the Hudson Valley. We can’t wait to come back!

A lovely campsite with a nice platform to keep us dry. (Which is nice because it did rain). But the rain didn’t stop us from having a lovely time overlooking the farm, a small pond, and fields of flowers. Would recommend to anyone!

We had a great stay at site 2 with incredible views of the mountains and stunning starlit night. The hosts were very gracious and hospitable and my wife commented on the most pleasant camp toilet experience she’s had(!). They have a lovely farm shop too.
We were in a rooftop tent and very comfortable, but the site itself does not have a huge amount of of level ground and is quite rocky; a wooden platform is provided but a bit wobbly so tent campers may want to plan accordingly.
Apple cider donuts from the farm down the street were to die for.

Loved the people very nice.
They delivered wood directly to the campsite and each site had a 5 gallon water jug which was awesome.
Amazing view of mohonk mtn and super short drive over!
Hugggge amounts of space between the sites.
Lovely little farm store.
the fact it only had 2 sites means they can put more attention into making your stay as nice as possible and it showed.
They could fit another 20 sites back there but they care more about people having a nice and private camping experience and that’s what mattered the most to us!!!!

Loved camping at Taliaferro farm. Really secluded camping spot, great clean facilities and the farm store is full of tasty fruits. Went in summer, there were some bugs but not much, zero bites and also zero ticks. The location is beautiful and hosts very helpful. Highly recommend.

Delaney is a wonderful and gracious host. Guests are invited to pick their own herbs and wildflowers. The property is gorgeous and walkable to town via a trail. Many wildflowers to admire! Cannot wait to stay again!

Beautiful view of mountains. Delaney was extremely helpful for finding our campsite! Sent a video of how to get there so we could easily navigate it late at night in the dark. Would absolutely recommend!

This was such a lovely and quiet getaway. We love to cook so having the market there and fresh herbs it was a delight! Delaney was wonderful and accommodating. Town is close by but you feel far from it. 100% recommend and we will definitely be back!

Tent camping at Taliaferro Farm was soooo lovely! Delaney greeted us on arrival and made us feel so welcome. The tent site had a gorgeous view, as well as plenty of space for our two tents. The composting toilet is honestly as good as it gets and was well managed by the host(s), which we were soooo appreciative of!!! Shopping in the farm store and cutting flowers/herbs before checking out was extra special. We had a great time and can’t wait to come back for another visit!

The farm was nice for one night, but I would have appreciated the host reaching out to me the day of my arrival with info / site map. I had reached out before my trip to let them know I was bikepacking and would likely arrive after dark, but never received any arrival info and I could not find signage easily to the campsite.
One of the staff members at the farm restaurant told me to just ride my bike through one of the farm fields to the campsite which was not ideal. Other than that, the site was fine and I was out early and on the road again.

I stayed here for two nights. Loved the proximity to the rail trail for easy access to New Paltz and beyond. Property was quiet and the views were great, just what I was looking for! Delaney was pleasant and helpful. If you are looking for a quiet, rustic camping spot in the area, this place is wonderful.

My boyfriend, his 2 dogs and I loved camping on Delaney’s farm! The sunsets were beautiful, Delaney provided us with 5 gallons of water and allowed us to walk freely around the farm and pick as many wildflowers as we wanted. This was my first time experiencing a compost toilet, but Delaney does a great job at keeping it clean. We will definitely be back again!

Very nice and responsive host. Site 2 offers beautiful views. Amazing light show courtesy of lightning bugs. Visited in early July. Site 2 is in a field so there is no shade. it was sweltering hot. Bring a canopy or something for shelter from the sun. Your tent will be pitched on a big pallet so bring hardware to latch down. Around 9 PM the fireflies are joined by swarms of mosquitoes. Be prepared with a screened in tent or canopy. We weren’t. Bug spray was only modestly effective. The fire pit at site 2 is terrible and needs improvement. It’s just a loose assortment of rocks on gravel with loose rocks and tightly confined by a field that had ticks. We never lit a fire because the pit area isn’t conducive to chilling after a good day. Then again, after Labor Day it would probably be fine. And that’s my final opinion. The farm is well located and has great views but our mid summer visit was hot and uncomfortable so I would visit again but only after Labor Day when the heat and bugs are reduced. Views of Sky Top and the ridge with fall foliage would be great.

Super nice hosts. Terrific view from site 2. Short distance from New Paltz. Wallkill Valley Rail Trail and River to Ridge Trail at your doorstep. Just get on your bike and go. Bonanza of lightning bugs over the weekend of the 4th! This is a camping location at a farm so prepare for the following realities. You’re in the middle of a field in mid-summer. It’s very hot so bring a canopy or other form of shade. The lightning bugs were amazing, but the mosquitoes were overwhelming. Bring a large tent or other form of screened shelter. Apparently these swarms have evolved beyond bug spray being effective. The fire pit area is wanting. It’s strewn with loose rocks and gravel and is a small area closely bordered by tall grass. It’s not very inviting for celebrating a great day, which is unfortunate, but easily fixable. We didn’t light a fire because it’s uncomfortable and my friend claimed ticks on his leg came from the grass. There is a clean outhouse but otherwise water is provided in the form of an Igloo water cooler at your site.
Ultimately, camping involves some roughing it and the farm offers a lot of pluses, but for me I’d only reserve again in September when bugs and temperatures are reduced. Fall foliage with views of Sky Top in the distance from here would be amazing.

Enjoyed a peaceful stay at site 1. The view of the mountain ridge in the distance is stunning, but the real magic is in the grassy field just beyond the site- full of fireflies and songbirds (July). The farm is also perfectly situated for cyclists- right off the rail trail which easily connects to Mohonk/Minnewaska carriage roads- truly excellent riding. Delaney was a wonderful host and very responsive to our needs. We will absolutely camp here again!

They have a wooden platform for the tent, a fire circle, and a water jug. There’s a portapotty with a compost toilet that isn’t stinky because you fill it with sawdust. The hosts are very communicative and flexible about arrival times etc. Their property is beautiful. The lightning bugs are amazing!

Very pretty spot (I assume it’s even nicer when the weather is nice. It rained all night I was there haha). Delaney was super responsive and the video directions were super helpful. I assume even more helpful if you got there after dark. The toilet is a compost bucket type, so if you’re not used to using one it might take some adjustment. Super/duper clean though, you might want to bring a light at night in case the lights are running low on battery. Super close to downtown New Paltz and walkable via the rail trail too. Would definitely stay here again.

Delaney was so helpful and communicative! The camp site was clean, beautiful and just what we were hoping for. It down-poured while we were sleeping and the wooden platform saved us from getting wet. My 4 yo nephew loved the u pick strawberries, visiting the chickens, going on the swings and looking for frogs by the pond. We had the best time and absolutely recommend!!

We had a great time camping at the farm. Delaney was very responsive and helpful. We enjoyed the strawberry picking at the farm and seeing the chickens. There is also a trail just across the street that goes to the town (about 1.7 miles). It was very convenient.

We loved the energy of the place—the organic farm, the birds in the morning, the clean outhouse, and the beautiful views. The farm stand was a nice touch, stocked with local honey, artisanal cheeses, eggs, and quiches. Delaney was very responsive and kind, which we really appreciated.
That said, the site itself felt pretty neglected. We were placed in the middle of a sunny field with no shade, and the "fire pit" was a makeshift metal drum. The site didn’t match the listing—it lacked the pond we’d booked near—and overall it just needed more comfort and care.
This spot has real potential with the right investment in comfort. A picnic table, some shade, and a designated tent area that is not on a slope would go a long way. As it stands now, it just felt a little too bare-bones and unrefined to fully enjoy.
