This place is awesome! Perfect for camping with a trailer. All the hookups you need plus WiFi! Quiet and private tucked back in the woods. The lake is really calm and peaceful. Roberto checked to make sure we were all set and definitely takes care of this place. 10/10 recommend!

Smryna Lake Campsite
We stayed in a 26' trailer, and the hookups were excellent. If you have dogs with good recall, this is the perfect place. Being able to let them off leash was so appreciated. The lake was beautiful and crystal clear. Our dogs loved swimming, and we enjoyed paddle boarding. Next time we’ll come earlier in the season so we have more daylight to enjoy everything. Very private. Thank you, Roberto!

Roberto’s location is exactly as described, very quiet and private. RV spot is on gravel, as close to dead level as anywhere we have been. The walk to the lake is short but it’s a lil steep. That said, beautiful and the fishing was really good, caught over a dozen decent largemouths, Pete h and sunfish. Kept 2 bass to eat, delicious! Would highly recommend this location.

This spot exactly as described. Very private but everything here and well laid out. The walk to the lake is a bit steep but 110% worth it if you like to fish or be by water. We caught at least a dozen largemouth bass, several 10-12 inches, a yellow perch and several large pumpkinseeds. RV Site is gravel and damn near perfectly level. Couldn’t ask for much better, appreciate Roberto and his family are willing to to share this very nice location, A+ Hipcamp!

It was a nicely wooded site, however the gravel on the ground was tough on our dogs' feet. The lake was lovely but it was a steep rough trail to get there. There are about a dozen homes on the lake and being the end of the summer it sounded like residents were prepping for closing down their camps for the year; sounds of chainsaws and repairs. There were ATVs all around as well.

We can absolutely see why this Hipcamp has such glowing reviews — Roberto was warm, kind, and very communicative, and the property is beautiful. For those staying in an RV, I think this would be a fantastic spot. As tent campers, though, we found it a bit challenging.
The camp is covered in medium-sized/sharp rocks, which were tough on our dogs’ paws and made for a very uncomfortable night’s sleep in our tent. We also experienced more nighttime noise than anticipated — a few dogs barking through the night, a distant loud boom every 15 minutes or so, and cars coming and going at all hours.
The lake isn't really visible from the house, and is about a 1/4 mile walk down a steep, somewhat tricky trail (I slipped once), so it’s worth keeping in mind if mobility is a concern.
Overall, we’d recommend this Hipcamp for RV campers looking for a scenic stay with a friendly, very attentive host with great amenities — but as tent campers, it wasn’t the best fit for us.

We loved the privacy. There is a road near the camp where we heard a lot of ATV's the first couple of days, but we didn't see anyone else the entire time. The lake is lovely. My dog absolutely loved it. We took her down everyday & each time she gave us a hard time leaving. It's an easy walk down, but a hike back up, although a short lived one. There are other houses around the lake with their own docks. The use of the dock was great. We didn't bring our kayaks because we saw from earlier reviews that kayaks & a row boat were there, but that wasn't so on our trip. We purchased blow up lounges & floated around on those & felt like kids again. The camp itself was behind a vacant cabin. The fire pit was perfect, abundant firewood provided. Adirondack chairs were provided as well as a picnic table and another table. The hook ups for the camper were easy to use. We had a great time & even extended our stay by two days. The one drawback was the size of the stone used as ground cover for the majority of the hip camp, it was pretty large & cumbersome to walk on. My dog could hardly walk on it, so I laid a blanket path out for her from the camper to the fire pit. We had to wear shoes to walk on it. We tried to use a blow up mattress to sleep next to the fire pit one night & the stone made it difficult. They laid it as drainage for the rain, but smaller sized gravel would have been softer on the feet.

Roberto's secluded getaway is such a special place. So peaceful and serene. He was very responsive during our communication. The private dock with canoe was a picturesque experience. Huge fire pit with plentiful wood. I will say that the trail down to the dock is quite long. Because it rained, it was muddy. I would suggest wearing water shoes My little flip flops got stuck so I switched to hiking shoes. It was very easy to find with the instructions he provides. Definitely looking forward to going back! Thank you!

This was our first HipCamp experience, and it’s going to be hard to top.
The site was peaceful, private, and incredibly well designed. Even after a full day of heavy rain, the grounds stayed solid and usable. It was easy to access and navigate with our 21’ trailer, with plenty of room to set up and settle in.
Our dogs loved the lake, and we loved the quiet, the spacious layout, and the well-built fire pit that made for perfect evenings. Plenty of spots to relax and take in the surroundings—already looking forward to our next visit

Absolutely loved this place. If you want peaceful- you’ve found it! Our host answered all my questions so quickly and later realized that almost all of them were answered in his listing. I should have read it twice! He wasn’t there to greet us but he had the man who oversees firewood and takes care of the camp pop down as soon as we arrived. He made sure we had everything we needed and didn’t see another soul the rest of our three days!
Fishing was spectacular. I lost track of how many I caught. They averaged about 16” and were released with only their pride a bit ruffled.
My only issue was my fishing kayak was very heavy and getting it down to the water wasn’t too bad but it had rained and a tiny “stream” formed down the slope, so it getting it back up was a bear. Even with two of us. I should have just left mine on the car and used one that was down there. As another camper pointed out wear good shoes for that hill!
My sister and I had a lovely visit and hope to return in the future!

We had a wonderful time at Roberto's site. It was as pictured. Very quiet and private. The bass fishing was unbelievable. We were the only ones kayaking the lake during our stay. It is a hilly walk to water so be sure to have good footwear. Loved listening to the owls in the evening. A peaceful vacation spent connecting with nature. Site was well maintained and all hookups worked as expected.

We had a great time at this site! It's a great layout and very private. My husband and daughter enjoyed fishing at the dock. The fire pit was enjoyed every night. The hook ups were easy to get to and use. We will definitely consider booking again in the future.

The campsite was perfect - so quiet and peaceful! All utilities worked well, and the issue with wifi password was rectified with a simple text. The lake is amazing - our dog Willow jumped right in! Lulled to sleep each night by sounds of owls hooting and nothing else. Would highly recommend and we hope to be back again next spring.

Roberto has a nice set up here. Finding it was super easy. The GPS coordinates plus Robertos instructions took us right to the campsite, no problem. Lake access with kayaks and a canoe to take out into the lake. A dock with 2 chairs set up next to it. Disclaimer, the lake access is down a little hill. Its not too steep. It's like a 2 minute hike to get there. Going back up the hill to get back to the campsite is rough A fire pit with plenty of wood and a grate to cook on. Multiple chairs set up around the pit that are good to go. A stand alone table and a picnic table on site. Having access to a hose made washing silverware, plates, pots, ect easier than ever. Didn't have to take a full trash bag home with us after staying here as there were a garbage and recycling can on site. If I had to nit-pic anything at all I'd say finding good ground to set up tents was hard. If you're coming here to camp via tents like my friends and I, make sure you have a sleeping pad. Also possibly be ready to have to slightly alter some terrain. (Removing large rocks, de-weeding, moving fallen trees). I would absolutely recommend picking here as a camping destination though. We made it work with 4 tents and a hammock. Oh, also plenty of space for parking. We had a jeep and pickup truck here for our stay and there was room for at least 1-2 more vehicles if needed. There's a town only 13 minutes away from this site, which made acquiring some last minute items very easy without having to travel far.

This place was peaceful and relaxing. Our 25 ft camper fit perfectly. It had all the hook ups. I highly recommend this place if you just want to get away. Favorite was sitting on the dock watching the sunset.

This site is a gem!
I’ll break down the site by amazing/good/just facts/bad
Amazing:
- The water is beautiful and clear and accessible to paddle and enjoy on the shadier side of the lake
- The fishing is so fun! Probably no monster fish, but tons of 1 to 2 lbs bass will keep your rod bent all day (catch and release)
Good:
- The site has great hookups with everything working as expected
- The site is very private which was nice
- There were a couple of kayaks down by the water to use and the couple of neighbors wave and smile when you paddle by
- The fire pit, chairs, and overall space were all very nice
Just facts:
- It’s a bit of a walk down to the water. We used walkie-talkies to communicate with the kids who were down there. It’s a hill, but it’s manageable. Probably 100 yards that’s wooded, but should remind you of any hilly trail you’d find in the Adirondacks.
- Our 34’ camper took some talent to park on level pad
- The whole area at camp is covered with beautiful stone which made things nice and clean, but they were a little rough on feet and paws without shoes.
- As far as I could tell, there was nothing to do in the area (15 minute drive). This was fine for me because the lake is so nice, but the kids would have liked a hike, ice cream, or other entertainment to break things up.
- Cell phone connectivity was very spotty on both Verizon and T-Mobile. I liked this, but others not so much. Download maps before you go.
Bad:
- Nothing. Camp here :)

Smryna Lake Campsite
We enjoyed our time floating on the lake and spending time around the campfire at this site.
The site is very clean and well maintained. It is very quiet and private. Our only issue was finding the place. The gps coordinates take you to the lot BUT we saw a large cabin and a car so we assumed we were at the wrong place. After driving around for awhile, meeting some neighbors and texting with Roberto we got it all figured out. Having the lot number at the start would have saved us an hour and some frustration. However we still had fun!
