The Owl Site
Amazing All-Around Experience!
Absolutely adored this site! Heather was such an amazing host from the start. She met us out front & supplied us with a map before guiding us to our site, but also gifting us with some fresh cucumbers. The site itself was well into the woods, private & a good walk away from other sites. We had plenty of space to set up two hammocks, a 6-person tent, a canopy, a golfing net, couple of chairs & three other tables alongside the picnic table provided. The fire ring is great to cook over, but there is also a standing charcoal grill. After setting up, my group tried to walk around the trails to the quarry, until we realized we weren't familiar with the correct orientation of the map. When we drove back to the house, we stopped by the gazebo to take in the gorgeous view & took pictures with the cows along the fence. While Heather was busy working out front, she took her time to explain the roads as her husband had been putting up new signs for the trails (she even insisted in driving up to show us the way herself). Before we went on our way, Heather invited us to collect eggs from her chicken coop! This wasn't our only time stopping by the front as we were sure to make use of the hot shower, flushable toilet & fresh water spring. By the end of our stay, the trash bin & recycling bin was a great amenity to have for a group of our size. There was so much to do with so few characters available for this review. But for those looking for a great spot -- you can stop looking. This is it.

The Oak Tree Site
You gotta' book this place!
Wow.... simply put it was an astonishingly incredible experience. From Heather's accommodating and very cool nature, to the add-ons that made our stay easier, to the stunning beauty of our site and the grounds as a whole - we were NOT prepared to be this blown away! The farm store has a camper shelf, with items like towels for swimming, matches for the firepit, cooking utensils and more! Also at the farm (which is where you meet Heather before being escorted to your awesome site) are add-ons like a pop-up tent, kindling, ice and more as well as an assortment of farm fresh produce, eggs, bug spray and other essentials available for purchase. We stayed at the Oak Tree Site, which was far larger than expected and extremely private with stunning views of the mountains. It was perfect for our dog to roam off leash because it's sort of closed in by the landscaping, creating a perfect perimeter to keep him on our site. The site is in mostly full sun, except underneath the great oak tree - which is where we pitched our tent and slept comfortably in the August heat. The hand built outhouse was quaint and well kept, and the site has a small grill and firepit that sounds like a beautiful gong when you tap it. The crickets sung us to sleep and we made lots of memories with our senior pup. Heather also suggested we visit the quarry, where I swam with goldfish and felt renewed. I'll dream of that magical spot for years to come. We can hardly wait to return!

The Hops Site - RVs and Groups
Spectacular stay!
I cannot say enough good things about my stay on Heathers land. It was truly magical! From the rolling hills, private spots, cool swimming quarry and fresh spring water, oh and I can’t forget about the highland cows! Heather has put so much effort into all the little details to make the stay so wonderful. I would come back time and time again! If you are thinking about coming, do it! You won’t regret it at all.

The Oak Tree Site
A PAWfect mahm & Princes experience
I was fortunate enough to stay the The Oak campsite with my two dogs and this experience was magical. This was my very first hipcamp experience, and what a first impression! The site was PAWfect for my boys, they loved the open space and still were protected from the heat. This was a borkday trip for them (they just turned 10) and I'm ecstatic that they LOVED every moment!
The site felt very secluded and private and safe! Heather put in a lot of love into this space and all of the campsites. I highly recommend getting some of the produce and jam from her stand!
The boys and I were able to explore her land (thanks to the very helpful map Heather provided) and we had a blast, the views are breathtaking and the energy of this ENTIRE space is healing. Even if your doggos are well behaved and have good recall, bring leashes because there are some wild turkeys and deer on the land, and her chickens are in their coop- we don't want to have any of the animals feeling stressed! Keep the healing and loving vibes high!
I cannot wait to stay at Slateville again, and neither can my boys!

The Owl Site
Heather was a very accomodating host and Slateville Farm is such an amazing piece of land! Fresh picked produce and eggs are available at the farm stand along with some other necessities. I stayed at the secluded Owl Site for two nights and really loved how much privacy there was at the site. The views from the Sunset Pagoda are enough of a reason to come back to this site, but there is so much more to explore! Swim or kayak in the quarry and pond, or venture out to enjoy the nearby Green Mountains and Adirondack Park. Can't wait to be back!

The Quarry Site
Sunset, bullfrogs and coyote yips
Slateville Farm is stunning, and our campsite was clean, private and peaceful. Heather is a warm and accommodating host (she even hand-delivered us a roll of toilet paper all the way up to our site!) We had originally chosen the Quarry site, but Heather told us she received reports from campers that it had been particularly buggy, so she switched us to the bigger, more open (but still very private) Hops site. I am ordinarily a mosquito magnet but we had no trouble with bugs during our stay, even though we were partly surrounded by some thick woods. At our site, we were visited by some very pretty (and mildly poisonous) hickory tussock moth caterpillars who love to chomp on hardwoods in the summer. They are super cute — just don’t pick them up if you don’t want a rash from their white fuzzy bodies. :)
The campsites are scattered across a large farm full of green hills and mature woods. We never ran into any other campers, even at the quarry, which I was surprised we were the only ones visiting both times we strolled up the road for a swim. The slate quarry is sparkling and clear and full of goldfish and frogs. It was the perfect, secluded swimming hole for us to lounge for an afternoon.
I’m sure there is great hiking in the area, but we really just needed a relaxing place to watch the sunset and listen to bullfrogs for a weekend, and this hit the spot. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks again, Heather!
