I thought it was a great site, especially if youâre not an experienced camper and just want a nice secluded spot yet not sure if you want to be too untethered from conveniences. There was a great fire pit with a pile of kindling nearby and some nice stumps you could use as seats or to lay out gear and utensils so you donât lose them in the grass. Also, lots of blackberry bushes toward the middle of the field, which were a nice bonus to grab a refreshing snack at any time. The conveniences of New Paltz are just minutes away so whenever you want a break from the camping, itâs there. Thereâs a small tented outhouse with a seated compost bucket. The tent is very small so it could be claustrophobic, but itâs there, so better than nothing. If youâre looking for a low key and chill camping experience, this is a great choice.

Jasen was a great host! Prompt responses and very friendly, and the firewood he provided burned great. The site was very well laid out and quite private and perfectly located for either going into town or heading up to the mountains. A great spot for climbers or hikers. Will definitely come again!

Jasen was great. When we first got there he told us about a bunch of things that we could do nearby, and he supplied us with plenty of firewood. The site was really comfortable, and convenient in terms of setting up, and breaking down.

Great spot, nicely kept. Very close to the Gunks so ideal for climbing. Firewood for sale is tough to find but the gas station nearby had some available.

We loved our camping experience here. Jasen was super accommodating and all of the directions and descriptions were great. Itâs very clear that they want their guests to enjoy their stay!

We had such a great weekend! Even though you're on Jasen's property, we really felt secluded in our own private campsite oasis. Jasen is very nice and helpful and he's done a great job setting up the campsite. We had two first-time campers in our groups, so it was also great to go somewhere that had easy car access and also fresh water. I would definitely highly recommend!

Great Experience ! Very welcoming and friendly hosts. The Village is gorgeous and hiking trails are beautiful , Village , Dairy and veggie farms maybe 2-5 min. away. Apple picking orchards nearby! Great escape from the city.
Very private campsite, Beautiful view and Locals are friendly to newcomers all in all.
*5/5 camping and local exploring experience ! *

This is a great place for starter campers and family fun! The site was way bigger than we expected. Very private and organized. There was a picnic table, a decently sized firepit, and a toilet. We were even provided with fresh water which was very comfortable for showering. Whats even better is Main Street is only 15 minutes away at most. Jasen was an excellent host and made sure everything was clean and set before we arrived. Would absolutely visit again!

Jasen (the host) was so nice! New Paltz is a wonderful town and there are plenty of nice trails to check out nearby (we went to Minnewaska State Park - would definitely recommend a swim in Awosting Lake) :)

Jasen's camp site was exactly as described! My partner and two brothers headed up together for an easy-going sibling camping trip - we grew up in Saugerties and are quite familiar with the New Paltz area so it was such a perfect location. 7 minute drive into town and only about 15-20 minutes to the Mohonk preserves / Gunks. The site was more secluded than we even would have expected knowing it was just a quick walk from Jasen's home and it had everything you could possibly need. He even trailed a hose with a shower attachment that we used for brushing teeth, etc. Jasen clearly loves and respects the outdoors as much as we do. Everything about the site was well thought out and in perfect condition making the whole trip very relaxing. You won't regret your stay - it felt like a little oasis. :)

Jasen was incredibly hospitable during my stay. I came to hike and car camp near the Catskills in late February. When I arrived at the location, I was able to call Jasen and he walked me through everything with ease. Because there was no one staying at the ranch house they were renovating, he offered to let me use the restroom and firepit there. It was incredibly convenient for me, and I would love to come back in the warmer months again!

This site was absolutely beautiful. Jasen provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay. He even set the fire up for us before we came; it was super sweet! Jasenâs place is an amazing little sanctuary in the woods and although itâs about 200ft from the house, it still feels extremely private. Would definitely recommend!

The site was only a short walk from the house, but it felt like a secluded campsite in the middle of the woods. The campsite has plenty of space (we had two 2-person tents) and the fire pit is really lovely. There is also a table and chairs and a bench. The toilet was clean and well kept. Jasen was a friendly host and easy to contact. Would recommend, particularly if a climber, as itâs very close to the Gunks!
