Stunning swimming spot
We had a lovely time camping here! This is a really special spot. There was everything we needed to make the trip easy: fire pit, picnic table, firewood, and a porta-potty. The best part of this site is the access to water. We spent most of our time lounging on the dock and swimming in the water.
The campsite is across a dirt gravel road from the water. You are at a dead end, so only occasionally do cars drive all the way to the end. Additionally, the spot isn’t that remote, but that is understandable as it is very close to Troy and Albany.
We would love to come back again!

The Most Tranquil Weekend
We had an amazing time staying at Nature's Nook. We were woken each morning by the sound of birds the beautiful water reflections coming in from the perfect window opposite the bed. The whole experience was tranquil.
The cabin was well equipped with mugs, bottle openers, bug spray and all the little things you might forget like trash bags and a speaker. We enjoyed coffee on the porch, and cosy fires at the fire pit.
The perfect location to spend time away from the hustle and bustle, but only 20 minutes away if you fancy heading into troy for dinner!

It was just a great place to stay. Imagine a quiet cabin on the bank of the river with beavers swimming in it and wild birds nesting around. You can jump to the water directly from the deck and meet the sunset in complete serenity. That’s it, it’s just ideal.
We didn’t have any issues at all with the host and they helped us with answers immediately if we needed them. We highly recommend this spot and will definitely consider coming back again!
Don’t miss the opportunity, now is the season!

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT HERE. The platform was great for our tent. We have the gazelle t4 plus (8 person tent) and it fit perfect. Even for a hammock and our pop up shower on the side with space to walk around the tent on the platform. The paved area was great for our canopy by the picnic table. The site next to you will be able to see if you if any one is staying there which would be the only con for me as we were looking for somewhere super private BUT the site wasn’t being used so it was great. Having access to the kayaks was awesome . The water was great for kayaking. I would not swim in it (personal preference) but the dogs loved it . The water is a short walk down the hill and across the road but it wasn’t a problem. I brought chairs for the dock which was great . The dock doesn’t have any shaded area so if you plan in hanging down there you’ll need your own gear. . We will absolutely be back to this location. Usually bugs are insane at night but for some reason it was not a problem at this site. Loved it !

Hidden Gem in the Hudson Valley
What a phenomenal getaway! The location is conveniently located to town while also providing seclusion and privacy. We were blessed to see a bald eagle before departing as well as a few beavers. I do not have enough compliments to do this site justice but will CERTAINLY make it a point to return in the future. Special touches like a s'mores package and waters were waiting for us upon check-in, making our stay all that more enjoyable. A true gem - do yourself a favor and book while available. I have a feeling this site will become quite popular ;)

Nature at its finest!
We were throughly impressed with this floating cabin. The interior was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Views from inside the boat waking up in the morning were outstanding! John was very responsive. The portable restroom on the land was very clean and also has soap and a foot pump for water to wash hands. We were able to use the 2 kayaks, as we paddled through the islands we saw so much wildlife but our favorite was the huge bald eagles nest and also 2 bald eagles perched on a limb gazing back at us. Wish we would have stayed longer…we will def be back!
Thank You John and family for sharing your slice of paradise! 10/10

Beautiful Land and Sunsets
We had a wonderful weekend for our Anniversary camping trip on John’s site, Nature’s Nook! It is secluded and peaceful with a great overlook of sunsets on the Hudson River. You need to be comfortable using a portable toilet (we took a bucket with a toilet seat). Fire wood, kayaks, and bikes are accessible in a shed and the site is conveniently located between Troy and Mechanicville if needed for odds and ends that you may have forgotten or to replenish ice in your cooler. Bring your own water for drinking, dishes, showers, etc. We brought a portable solar shower and it was perfect for the trip!

Great time, great spot!
Really nice spot. I was surprised and impressed with how private it feels considering how close to Albany/Troy it is. Well maintained and easy to find. The host was helpful and replied quickly.
The water was fantastic. I think it was probably the best two days of my puppy's life so far. There's two kayaks available and tons of cool beaches and islands to explore. Really great spot if you love being in the water.
We very much enjoyed our time here and definitely recommend it.

Quiet and Peaceful
My girlfriend and I loved staying here in our campervan! There was a very level concrete pad to park on, and the deck with provided picnic table was quite nice! John even prepared the fire pit with a bunch of kindling, so we were able to very quickly start our first fire!
There were a few low-hanging tree limbs that scraped along our camper as we pulled in though, and the turn to make it up the driveway from the road was very sharp. You'd do better going to the end of the road to turn around and come back to drive up onto the site.
That said, this spot was very quiet and peaceful and we definitely want to stay here again! The dock was especially nice to relax on and enjoy the sights and sunsets.

We had an enjoyable time on John’s land. We had room for two tents on the ground and used the platform for cooking/dining/hanging out. Level area for games (corn home, ladder ball) as well. The dock was a nice spot for sunsets, sunbathing and launching kayaks to explore the river. Lots of beaver activity center high was cool to watch. Not very remote, but quiet location on dead end road. Host was quick to respond to questions.

Nature's Nook was just there camp spot I needed to rest and relax. The tent platform was perfect and I was able to hang my hammock from the poles. It was shady, quiet and provided a wonderful view of the river. I even saw a fox cross the road! I'm forward to coming back.
