While our host, Barbara, was very nice and the site was situated in a picturesque spot that is very quiet, with several amenities, there were a few things we didn't particularly like.
The driveway was narrow and quite rough for our trailer. The actual site was in a field, which was very bumpy, and it was hard to find a spot that was even close to level. It would also be nice to have some sort of marking on the signpost that had the electrical connection, since we did not get the Hipcamp message with details from our host until after we had found the hookup location by walking around. The site worked for us, but wasn't ideal.
As others have mentioned, Verizon Cell service was extremely limited.
The site worked in a pinch, but we probably won't stay there again.

Beautiful spot! My dog loved running around here. We had it to ourselves and she kept unearthing random balls lol. The solar lights definitely helped at night. I didn’t get any cell signal but I expected that. The outhouse was clean. I did not try to use the outdoor shower. There is a water fountain that was great for rinsing stuff off. I had my own drinking water so I did not try to drink the water out of the fountain.

A friend and I did a weekend stay. He pitched a tent and I had my teardrop trailer. We had the place to ourselves so it was nice and quiet. The weather and the setting were beautiful!

Very nice area. And continently located near Thatcher State Park. Beware cell service can be very limited to nonexistent here.
Better directions would have been appreciated.

Barbara is a gracious and friendly host, and helped me get set up despite short notice. The site is dark and peaceful with limited noise from the road. I recommend booking in advance so the host has time to get things ready for you. Unfortunately the shower did not work during my stay, which was a bit disappointing since it was one of my reasons for booking this site. I recommend that you bring drinking water. The water on site had a strong mineral smell so I only used it for cooking. I appreciated the fire pits, ample seating, and solar lights that made it easier to see at night.

Area was not flat it was all rutted up. Grass was high which hid the ruts, it was a broken ankle waiting to happen. No trash bins as advertised, ground litter with cigarette butts everywhere.
Advertised hot showers, there were no hot showers, I was told to enjoy a cold shower. The advertise hot tub was disgusting the water was a funky color and it smelled. The pond could not be seen due to high, deep weeds
The fire pit had trash and garbage thrown around it.
I would not recommend it is not what they say it is. Reserved 2 nights only stayed 1 night.

I've stayed here twice. Both times it has offered a quiet and peaceful place to camp overnight. The outhouse and amenities are well maintained. There is lots of seating areas available making it easy to relax. Barbara has also been very welcoming and helpful.

Great private land abutting a state park. We hiked almost every day, and saw a lot of wildlife! We managed to get our Class A up there, so it’s fairly accessible unless you have a really big rig! Our dogs were able to run freely and had a blast hiking and hunting chipmunks too!

We enjoyed our one night stay here! Outhouse was very clean, with water to wash your hands. Walking around was a little wet, but we camped up on the hill and were very dry. Dogs loved running around the field - just make sure to check for ticks (they’re bad everywhere this year).

Barbara was so friendly and fun! I solo car camped, and felt very safe and secure! Site is equipped with all you need to have a great stay. I'm only sorry that I was too tired to party!
