This little shack was exactly what we needed to escape the NYC buzz for a couple days. It toes the line beautifully between camping and glamping—definitely not roughing it, but not luxe either (no potable water, and the bathroom, while clean and charming, is detached). It’s quiet, cozy, and surrounded by nature—frog calls at night, a crackling fire, and just… stillness.
The space itself is small but thoughtfully set up. We brought our own pillows and blankets which made it extra comfy, and I’d recommend bringing a dish bin, soap, and sponge for washing up. The mini fridge was perfect for a short stay, and the toaster oven was great for simple meals.
If you’re looking for a peaceful reset with just the right amount of comfort, this place delivers. Would 100% come back.

I came here for a weekend getaway with my boyfriend and dog and we made this a fairly cozy stay. The host was responsive, turned over a clean cabin, and even provided some trash bags, water, paper towels, and toilet paper out of courtesy. As long as you're prepared, everything should be fine. We brought extra blankets, water for washing/drinking (since the water can't be ingested and has a strong sulphuric smell), and disposable plates and cutlery. The small space heater works fairly well and heats up the cabin quickly. The bathroom had very quick and hot water. Our favorite part is the dock that sits on the water which makes for a great tea/coffee area and seats are provided. The location is also great because it's so close to downtown Saugerties, Woodstock, and a lot of amazing hikes. All-in-all we would gladly stay here again.

Love Shack
The Love Shack exceeded my expectations at every level! Firstly, it's completely remote and private, set in a stunning forest on top of a gorgeous lake. It has all of the necessities you'd want to have a true glamping experience. I love that we still felt like we were camping, but with the comforts of some electricity, a roof over our heads and a clean, flushing bathroom. The quaint town of Saugerties feels like it's out of a book with antique shops, restaurants, a farmer's market, and tons of incredible hiking trails only minutes from the Love Shack. I can't recommend this place enough - 10 out of 10, will definitely be coming back and sharing with my friends. Also, HUGE shout out to Adam who was super responsive to my messages and made sure our stay was perfect!

The space around the cabin was so lovely; the dock was perfect to sit at any hour of the day and we saw so much wildlife around camp! The ammenities are super rustic -- we ended up cooking and prepping everything on our coleman stove and over an open fire. The Keurig was helpful for a quick cup of coffee when it was raining!
The bathroom sink was helpful for washing hands and such, but there was a very strong sulfur smell. Adam was prompt with replies and helpful with everything we needed. I would recommend sending the details of the trip a bit earlier to the guest -- it worked out for us because we over prepared but we got all of the logistics right around check in time and we were already on the road.
Now that I know what to expect, I'd definitely come back!

Love Shack
I was at love shack on May 17-19. I had a bad experience, an hour before arriving the owner wrote a message where he said that everything was clean and that the water was already heating up. We arrived and what a disappointment, when we opened the door it smelled bad, the kitchen had too much mouse poop, the floor was dirty, and to complete the second bed full of mouse poop, the water smelled rotten. We had to clean up to stay there. It is a place in the middle of a forest but it is very abandoned. I am not in the habit of posting these types of comments but you can improve those details, thank you.

It was amazing ! I stayed here with my boyfriend and our daughter deff would recommend it for couples, or a family with kids as well. It was really peaceful, the lake view is beautiful as well , the hammock was great and great views! We had such a good time here deff was great to get away from work and city life and be together for the weekend and just relax with each other. I love the fact that there is a bathroom and shower with hot water as well! Just a Beautiful place over all! Great views and cozy at nights 👌

Lovely stay! Bare bones but all you need for a great weekend away. The dock is beautiful and the wood stove is a nice touch. We enjoyed drinking coffee by the fire and taking it easy. Super close to town and very quiet.

Had a good time at the Love Shack. Definitely cozy with the basics needed for a fun weekend. Had a good time fishing on the pond and building fires. Great location near hiking trails and Woodstock. Just a heads up the water in the bathroom has a very heavy sulphur smell, at least on our stay, so bring water to drink and wash.

We had a great time here! The property was very peaceful and the view was amazing. The addition on the cabin provided extra space. We had 2 adults and 2 kids (with air mattresses) and were comfortable. In warmer months I would suggest brining a small fan to circulate air.
The property is a short drive to downtown Woodstock, Saugerties and state parks are nearby. Would love to go back.

Adam was very clear with his instructions about finding the cabin, and the cabin itself was very clean and well equipped to host us as well as a good base to explore the Catskills! Having breakfast on the pontoon was a highlight, as well as spotting some deer early morning! Definitively recommend for a weekend getaway.

The shack was exactly what we needed - a little base to explore the Catskills for a few days. It is basic but bigger than we were expecting, the toilet area was clean and the water was warm. Very idyllic and peaceful.

Loved the Love Shack. It was exactly what I was looking for to disconnect from city life for a couple of nights.
Great to hang out by the pond in the mornings and evenings, and there was more space than I expected thanks to a recent addition to the cabin. The sliding glass door on that addition made for nice views + light during the day. The addition is currently unfinished (not yet painted), but the extra space was a nice bonus.
The inside lock is no longer using a wooden dowel, there's a sturdy metal pipe in its place. And the bathroom cabin isn't swank, but it gets the job done. Being able to take a proper hot shower was a godsend after long days of hiking.
Had a minor issue while gaining access to the property, but Adam was quick to help me resolve it. Recommended!

Adam’s spot was a great place to spend a few days. Great location that was close enough to hikes we wanted to check out and some good shops and restaurants. Loved laying down by the water on the hammock listening to the birds and frogs. Adam was also kind enough to let us use the flat top grill and propane he had on the property. Will definitely come back for another stay to enjoy more of the Catskills.

This spot is exactly what we wanted for our Catskills getaway: a balance of camping and cabin living. The love shack is clean, warm, and way more spacious than we originally thought. The outdoor space feels like you’re deep in the woods without being far away, and the deck and hammock added a nice, relaxing touch. Adam was an excellent host with quick communication. We will definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I loved our stay at Adam's cabin, but come prepared, as it's truly just camping under a roof. Bring shower shoes and something to wear to and from the bathroom, as it's a walk outside from the cabin and in clear view of the road/private driveway shared with several other houses. The windows are fantastic for bringing in light, but they have no curtains. This shouldn't be an issue, but on our first morning, while I was getting dressed, a woman drove up and walked up to the cabin staring at me. Luckily, she was just a very lost real estate agent, who thought she was showing this cabin and was very confused as to why I was there lol.
Also important to note if you are a woman/women traveling - the door didn't feel secure enough so we had to booby trap it. I'm attaching a picture but the 'lock' is just a wooden dowel and is too short for the brackets that are holding it. We booby-trapped it with heavy items that would fall and wake us since there wasn't an actual lock. Not ideal but better than nothing.

On Thursday evening we decided to book a last minute weekend trip to the Catskills and even on such short notice, Adam was very helpful and accommodating. We loved the beautiful and secluded location, while still being close to the charming town of Woodstock and lots of beautiful hiking opportunities. The cabin was perfectly clean and included some lovely touches that made for a luxury "camping' getaway.

Super cosy cabin and the hammock by the lake was so relaxing. Fell asleep to sound of birds and chipmunks and loved drinking coffee on the decking in the mornings. Shower was also great. Easy drive to Woodstock and Overlook Mtn. Perfect place to relax in nature (while also having access hot shower etc). Exactly what we were looking for. Could have stayed much longer than three nights.

We stayed in the cabin for five days for our honeymoon and left with lots of cabin-related dreams for our life together. We enjoyed freshly brewed coffee every morning and cooking dinner over the wood fire place. We paddled the canoe along the creek, ventured into town for recreation and repast, and went on long strolls through the Catskills mountains. We especially recommend the Thomas Cole historic site, the Village Diner, and long nature-themed tomes. The place was clean and comfortable. One recommendation: we thought we’d be able to push together the two twin beds, but they were uneven so we moved the mattresses to the floor.

Nice little spot in the Catskills for a relaxing few days. Definitely a shack -- but it's certainly nicer than pitching a tent. The pond is lovely to look at in the morning (especially on that deck) and the spot is a short drive to nearby towns (Saugerties and Woodstock) and hiking trailheads up in the mountains.
The shack itself is certainly rustic, if you're expecting luxury you won't be finding it -- but there are plenty of simple touches that make it nice and cozy. The air conditioner is a nice touch (though I can't say how well it worked since I didn't use it) and the wood stove is neat!
One thing I'd recommend: the dowel to lock the door from the inside is a little flimsy. Appreciated that there was some way to lock it from the inside but as a woman traveling alone it definitely didn't feel as secure as it could be.
There's a grill but it didn't appear terribly clean (usual wear and tear, maybe just needs a better cover to keep out moisture and critters). The bathroom is a nice to have but the shower smells of sulfur (I assume from the purifying agent) so I didn't end up using it.
The road into the campsite is well-marked but still a little rough and was definitely tough on my very little car. I'm sure anything above mid-size would have performed fine but if you drive a compact be wary!
All in all, the place has its quirks and is definitely more camping than cabin-ing (if that makes any sense) but is a nice location and good value if you're looking for a camping experience without a tent.
