The horses and dogs were very nice. The property is pretty. Kathy was very responsive, even though it's a working farm there was never really any noise outside except the dogs doing what dogs 🐕 do.

Overall it was a fine place to camp for a night or two. People should be aware of the proximity of the campsite to the owner’s house and tack shed. Morning chores were right outside our camper window and outdoor lights from the house shined right into our windows all night.

We enjoyed camping on Kathy’s farm homestead. She was friendly, as were her dogs and horses. The electric and water hookup worked well.

Hi!
We made a last minute booking, hours before our arrival, as we made our way back home to Virginia.
Kathy responded quickly and met us at the property to show us around. The property was easy to get to and had everything we needed. We were able to hook up to electric, started a fire under the amazing open skies and enjoy the night.
Our boys favorite part were the horses, which they were able to pet. And my husband was able to help out with some minor handy-man items around the farm.
We would totally visit again to explore the area and visit with the horses and recommend to anyone looking to get away from it all. Don't worry- Kathy won't make you do anything you don't want to do. 🙂

A lovely, simple piece of land in the Hudson Valley. Kathy was kind and accommodating. Many flies but to be expected with a horse farm and the great outdoors! The horses are beautiful, and waking up to their sounds and the sounds of birds was such a treat!

We arrived on property 7/3/25 after a 2 1/2 hour drive from home to not a soul around. The host had messaged us the night before informing that she wouldn’t be on site herself but would be available by phone. When we pulled in with our 34 ft Class A, there was no way we could’ve pulled around to the back of the house to pull through the RV site as instructed without bottoming out. We honestly could not even tell where we were supposed to set up as it wasn’t clear. Upon finding the dirty picnic table and electric service, we assumed we found it, although there was no fire pit and there were piles of horse manure and garbage right next to where we would’ve parked the RV. We were unable to contact host by phone or message because there was no service. At the same time a big thunderstorm was coming through so we had no options except to drive out of there and find another place to stay. When we were finally able to contact the host with our concerns, she said other RVs our size had no problem…end of discussion. I now understand why her RV site is not booked at all on Hipcamp. I feel our money should be refunded.

Kathy was a wonderful host. The horses are so sweet. She has a five month old puppy and an older dogs that loved to visit with me at my site. It’s exactly what I needed peace and calmness surrounded by animals.

What a beautiful farm! There are seven horses. The males are super friendly. She has a five month old puppy who I fell in love with an older dog that just like to hang around my camper and visit with my cat. It’s exactly what I needed at this time. I would definitely come back again..

Such a beautiful plot of land in the country side of NY. Absolutely am loving the stay! Kathy has been such an amazing and accommodating host! We decided to extend our stay, help out around the farm and enjoy the surrounding cities and sceneries! The horses are full of energy and love seeing the heartfelt moments of caring for them.. 10/10 would recommend!

Love this site & host. Got up on Saturday & pet one of the horses before my hike. It put me in a good mood. Good location if you are traveling from NYC. A little less than 2 hours to get here, and then you're no more than an hour from most of the Catskill trailheads. Red Hook is a nice little town, and other nice little towns like Woodstock are nearby. I will definitely return.

This was my base of operations for NY Sheep and Wool this year, a few other campers but mostly kept to myself. Easy to find (in the dark...oops) and Kathy was a friendly and communicative host. The horses were beautiful and the dogs very silly. A simple pleasant place to kick back for the night.

Though we came late in the dark Kathy was very nice and welcoming. We just stayed one night and went further the next morning. Before we left she took time to show our kids her horses, dogs and goats. Our first campsite in the US - nice experience.

We really loved staying at Kathy's spot! It was everything we were looking for. She is a good host, the location was nice and our campfire on the second evening was lovely ! Watching the stars above listening to the crickets and neighboring animals was comical and fun too! Otherwise we think we would absolutely stop back if we are in the area! Thank you for allowing us to land at your location overnight!

Great place for tenting. Several site options. Tasty water and an outdoor outlet we could use to charge our devices. Kathy welcomed us there and showed us the options. We enjoyed our stay.

We spent a weekend at Kathy’s farm. The biggest surprise is that we had access to WiFi. The location is close to a couple state parks in addition to local farms. I would recommend for a weekend getaway trip.
