5 Cottages on Paradox Lake, nestled on wooded grounds in a quiet cove, an ideal place for families or friends to enjoy vacation together. Large screened porches and decks, as well as a small play field and private sandy beach are perfect for groups. Superb swimming, hiking, cycling, fishing, boating, relaxing. Kayaks, canoes, rowboat provided at no charge. All kitchens are fully equipped, and there are many dining choices in Schoon Lake and Ticonderoga. The lake, with its islands, quiet coves, and the river-like inlet, offer many intriguing places to explore. Family owned since 1950, family oriented. The gradually sloping sand beach is safe and delightful for children. You may choose to have a campfire near the beach; SunderLand promotes an informal, friendly atmosphere. Sunderland family members are on site to answer questions and make sure you are comfortable. We are near historic Ticonderoga, and charming Schroon Lake, the Adirondack High Peaks area, Lake George, Lake Champlain, Middlebury and Burlington VT. The possibilities to visit Adirondack sites of interest are endless: river tubing on the Hudson River; visiting the Fort in Ticonderoga; seeing Olympic Village in Lake Placid, climbing any number of High Peaks, shopping or taking a sight-seeing cruise on Lake George, going horseback riding within 15 miles, dining, square dancing, shopping, or enjoying a craft brewery in Schroon Lake. Or have a relaxed time right at SunderLand sitting on a deck or porch, watching the loons or other birds, listening to the wind in the pines, reading a book, taking an afternoon nap. We are open from mid June until mid October. We do not allow motorized water craft. We allow pet dogs in Edgewood only. We are an inclusive family business where all people are welcome. Chickadee Cottage, one of the five unique cottages at SunderLand, is directly on the lake, and features 2 decks with stunning lake views of Paradox Lake. Chickadee is freshly pine paneled, and has a full kitchen and a large bedroom with a queen bed. Guests can enjoy meals on the deck, or in the kitchen - both overlooking the lake. Enjoy a small private waterfront with its own dock; guests are welcome to use canoes, kayaks, or rowboats at no extra charge. Paradox Lake is open to endless exploration, with its islands, coves, inlet, and narrows. Chickadee is a perfect choice for a romantic weekend, or for any 2 people looking for a beautiful and peaceful place to relax,. Take a walk out on "the Point", a peninsula which offers a panoramic view of the lake, and at night, breathtaking starry skies. You may choose to swim in the clear waters or explore the lake by boat in the day, and build campfire by the beach or go to the Point to gaze at the starry sky at night. Chickadee cottage could also serve as a "base camp" for Adirondack adventures. There are countless hiking trails and ponds nearby, as well as sites of interest such as the Adirondack High Peaks, historic Fort Ticonderoga, the Lake Placid Olympic site, nearby Schroon Lake and the Green Mountains Vermont about a half hour's drive from Paradox over the bridge at Crown Point, NY.

Edgewood Cottage At SunderLand

Edgewood Cottage is in the woodland bordering a large preserved tract of Adirondack forest, within a 4 minute walk to Paradox Lake and the waterfront SunderLand Cottages. waterfront, with sandy beach and boat dock. One of 5 of the cottage colony, Edgewood is the most private and most accessible, It features a ramp and wide doors for wheelchair access, and the parking is close to the entrance door. With its 2 porches, one being large enough for group dining (or napping on one of the daybeds), this cottage lends itself to gathering of friends and family. The three bedrooms can accommodate 7 people. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. SunderLand specializes in family or friend reunions, with enough cottages for families spread out and each have their own facilities. The small field with picnic and fire circle, the sandy beach, the "Point" , a peninsula on the property,-all are places to gather or to have quiet times alone or with a few friends or family. Kayaks, canoes, and rowboats are available to guests at no extra charge. "The Point' is a favorite feature of the property, as it affords a panoramic view of the lake, and breathtaking view of starry night skies.
