Hello and welcome to our newly finished cabin! We can’t wait for you to arrive! Enjoy “camping/glamping” indoors in our upstate New York 16x20 insulated boho/rustic cabin complete with Queen sized bed, pull out sofa with Queen sized mattress, kitchenette with sink, water (both cold and hot), mini-fridge, microwave, propane cooktop, coffeemaker, pots/pans/dishes/utensils and table/benches. Our “outhouse” is an en suite (in the cabin) composting (sawdust and/or other compostable material) toilet, shower and hand-washing sink. Heating is currently via an oil-filled electric heater(DeLonghi type). An outdoor covered area attached to the cabin provides a table with benches, chairs, charcoal bbq and accessories, camp chairs, and some room to store extra outdoor equipment you might have. Just 1.5 miles from the interstate, our cabin is situated on a little over an acre of land in the rural Hamlet of Fishs Eddy, New York, surrounded by mountains, with nearby access to fishing, swimming and kayaking/canoeing at the public access point about 1 mile away, and world class golfing about 20 minutes away. Occasionally, eagles soar above the trees across the road, and owls and other wildlife make themselves known in the woodland surrounding the property. Wild turkey and deer are commonly seen and cross through or close. There’s some footage in the woods to take a short walk, or sit on the Adirondack chairs and bench and enjoy a picnic. (Carry-in/carry-out/leave no trace an absolute must due to wildlife). The main house is directly across from the cabin(about 100 feet), separated by a sizable lawn with a handmade custom steel fire ring, and room to set up any lawn games or activities you might bring with you. The groundskeeper/caretaker/super/engineer who designed the water system and finished the cabin currently occupies the main house with his family. He is available for any questions, concerns or problems that may arise in the cabin or on the property, and can point you to local hiking/running areas. He also can give you the coordinates to get to a few of the local fresh water springs, where you can collect your own spring water. Wi-Fi is available on the property closer to the main house near the parking area. We are currently working to improve accessibility and hope to resolve it by the time you book. Cell service (depending on your carrier) is spotty due to the topography of the area, but you can take a quick drive down the road to what we call the “phone booth” (the parking lot of the DPW) and get great service. Right down the road, check to see if the “FRESH EGGS” sign is up and if there are any eggs available in the cooler. There is a $3 charge per dozen for the eggs and it’s honor system. You might see the chickens running around the driveway making sure they are earning their cash. Just one exit away, (about 7 miles) is the town of Hancock, dubbed, “The Gateway to the Upper Delaware.” You’ll have access to gas, groceries and libations, or grab a drink and dinner at the Hancock House Hotel, Little Italy, or the Circle E Diner, which serves some of the best pie in town! (Apple, Apple Upside Down, Chocolate Cream, Coconut Custard…). In Hancock you will also find kayak rentals with shuttle service, and the highway that will take you on a scenic drive to the Zane Roebling Bridge. The French Woods Golf course is about a 20 minute drive from Fishs Eddy. Wonderful home base for adventure!

Kelly’s Place

The cabin was very clean and comfortable. It made a great home base after hiking the beautiful trails of the Catskills Mountain Club. There are many outdoor opportunities, including boating, that we didn't get a chance to try. When we arrived, there was a heron in the field right behind the house, and we watched it fly in the second day too! The covered picnic table was a nice feature, and we enjoyed reading and talking out there when the sun out front was too strong. We had a lovely stay, and Kelly made us feel very welcome.

Kelly’s Place

This is a really nice cabin, has running water, electric and a shower. Also has kitchen area with mini fridge. Very comfortable and quiet place. While close to the main house it still feels private. I really liked the covered area for the picnic table that’s attached to the cabin. We enjoyed our stay.

Kelly’s Place

I had an amazing stay at Kelly's Place! The campsite was well-maintained and had everything I needed for a comfortable camping experience. The location was beautiful, surrounded by trees and nature, and the host was very friendly and accommodating. The site was also very private, which made for a peaceful and relaxing stay. I highly recommend Kelly's Place to anyone looking for a great camping experience in New York! Kelly was a very nice host, which made our trip even better. She waited us with s'mores, chocolates and even the fire pit on! She's so lovely and attentive that we'll definitely stay in the summer and upcoming months!

Second time is as good as the first

Kelly’s Place

This is my second time staying here, and it was just as wonderful as the first time. The warm shower on a snowy cold day was amazing. Kelly even left me some cookies and candy, and kept the room warm before I even arrived with a fire and a heater. Went thrift store and antique shopping in Hancock, they seem to have opened a theatre there. Maybe the next time I stay I'll try to catch a show. I love the attention to detail, there was a small rubber tray to put your snow shoes in so that you don't muddy the floor, the firewood had different sizes of kindling, the linens and carpets were clean. I always sleep so blissfully here and the snow further quietened the atmosphere. Loved it

Kelly’s Place

Very cozy place, I truly wanted to stay longer. I’m used to rustic camping and this place felt like heaven, I was able to cook my meals, after purchasing in a nearby supermarket - 12 mins drive. It has all appliances needed. I was welcomed by Santi, the care-taker of the land, who was kind enough to guide me through, handed my keys and offered help. Beautiful surroundings, I’m definitely coming back. Thanks Kelly!

Tranquil solo escape from the city!

Kelly’s Place

If you're like me (city born and bred, however, with the spirit of the woods in my veins), you'll definitely appreciate Kelly's place. City living can leave me desperately needing a night away for some glaringly silent sleep; While I'm accustomed to ambulances and late night shouting, some days the weariness grows on me. Kelly's place gave me a night of respite, small woods in the back with a bench to sit on and breath, and a cabin to write and calmly take in the peace of the night. The place is cozy and has just about what you'd need plus a welcoming outdoor area to sit and take in the sight of birds and sparing deer traversing the land. Wifi is a great plus. Though not having signal was an added measure of respite! (Down the street service returns) Close by I found a quaint local thrift store to rummage and chat with the locals who boast nearby trails and sights such as Jensen Ledges! There's some convenience stores, mcdonalds, gas stations and a diner close by. I'd say if you're looking for a cozy hideaway with plenty of nature options to day wander and a place to settle in for a good night's rest, Kelly's place is it.

Kelly’s Place

I booked my stay at Kelly's place on the first day of the year. I wanted to be away from the city, its about two hour beautiful drive once I leave the city. When I arrived, Kelly greeted me and explained everything even how to get internet and cell signal. Kelly is an artist, musician/composer from the city with dreams of converting her property into a minimalist sustainable dwelling and it shows. from the compostable toilet to the low flow taps and showers and biodegradable dish soap. I loved the warm shower. I have visited nearby places like Hancock and Starlight PA before and I know how beautiful this part of the country is. The night skies are beautiful if you are into astrophotography, or star gazing. Even in the winter there is enough wildlife to observe if you are into that. The woods on her property give more solitude if you need it. The cabin is well insulated with a wood stove and a heater for the NE cold. I slept well, the bed and linens were clean and comfortable. Kelly provided firewood if I wanted to make a fire, I decided to stay in the cabin and lit the wood stove. I made some food and retired for the night. In the morning I went out exploring, there are a few water springs a few min drive away and waterfalls, a trail twenty mins drive away where you can rent quads. I would definitely return back and its worth it in any season, this part of the country is beautiful and kelly is a gracious host.
