Historic Riverside Farm

The campground was amazing and very well kept. A minor detail, but delighted to find out when the ground was soft, great for tent camping (site 2). Sam was very helpful in responding to questions.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Historic Riverside Farm Campsite 1 and I cannot rave enough about my experience! Nestled in a picturesque setting, this campsite offers breathtaking views of a sprawling farm, making it a perfect escape into nature. The rolling fields and vibrant greenery provide a stunning backdrop, especially during sunrise and sunset. One of the highlights of my stay was the easy access to the Walk Kill River. The soothing sound of the flowing water and the opportunity to explore the riverside was simply delightful. Whether I was fishing, or just lounging by the riverbank, it was a serene experience that I’ll cherish. The facilities were well-maintained, and the staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful, ensuring that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. I recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway amidst beautiful scenery. I can’t wait to return!

We loved staying at Riverside Farm the site was very private and very large. The river access was great, just a short walk on a wooded path led to a beautiful spot were we fished sat in tubes and just hung out in the water. The only thing I could say was a little inconvenient was the entrance to the site was a little tight for trailers to navigate around the dumpster through the opening to the path down to the site. But even with that we are definitely coming back.

Our family had a fantastic time camping on the farm. Site 2 was ideal for letting our toddlers run freely through the chamomile fields all the way to the swings. The shade from the tree provided a lovely respite from the sun. Access to the river was just a short 15-step path away. While it’s not safe to leave little ones unattended by the river, there’s a nearby path leading to a shallow riverbank that’s perfect for toddlers to splash around safely. The campsites are spaced far enough to see, but not hear your neighbors . We’re glad we brought two large water containers, which were perfect for drinking and washing. The water from the pump tasted fresh and clean. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

A little slice of heaven. So relaxing, lots of space. I went to minnewaska park near by. Loved sitting on swing watching fireflies at night and listening to the water to fall asleep. Thank you for sharing your beautiful space with us.

We had a great stay at the farm! We loved the location by the river. Just a note that there are neighboring houses and there was music coming from there - but overall it didn’t affect our overall stay and we still like we had a private area. It was easy to find the campsite and we would stay again!

We had a great overnight at site 5 - loved the location and strolling around the farm fields, plus the proximity to the water. Our dog loved exploring as well! Due to the heavy rain in the prior days the track to the site was waterlogged and I was glad of our 4x4, which added to our adventure :) We will definitely return!

Great experience! There’s a river and also many farms nearby that you could visit. 20-30 min drive to ice cave trail which is very fun.

Awesome time at the farm!

We had such a great time at Sam and Melissa's farm! The setting was beautiful and peaceful—we especially loved spending time down by the river. There was lots of privacy and our dog loved swimming and exploring the open space! We even saw some deer. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t fully cooperate and it rained quite a bit, which meant we had to cut our stay short. But Sam and Melissa were incredibly accommodating and kindly refunded us for the night we had to forgo due to the weather. We really appreciated their hospitality and would definitely love to come back under sunnier skies!

We loved our time here! The property is beautiful, directions were clear, paths were maintained so well, the rushing creek nearby was cathartic. The camping ‘toilet’ was easy to maneuver. We would love to return!

Beautiful piece of country and well isolated to enjoy a quiet weekend camping; 5 stars, enjoyed the sound of river and all the animals (deer, geese, blue heron, ducks, bald eagle, etc); many cool places in the surrounding area.

What a beautiful location. We camped in our rooftop tent at site 3 which is right on the Walkill River. It is more secluded than the other two sites which we appreciated. The site was well kept as was the porta potty which was shared between the three sites. The bench swings that sat up on the hill and gave a beautiful view of the river and the tent sites was a great added touch. We had our coffee there in the morning. Thanks for a great visit.

I've camped here at least one time (sometimes more) every year since 2020. I've brought friends, family & dogs, each and every time the hosts Melissa and Sam have been so gracious and kind toward me and my camping tagalongs. I love this site for the pure reason is it's peaceful, the water running past your site is calming and it's just so pretty. Oh and the property is stunning! Always a great experience...

Sam’s place is beautiful, tucked away from the world while still being accessible. Note that if you’re booking site 3, note that the shared porta potty is up by site 2 - it’s a short walk. No problem for us but if you have kids or need quick access, book site 2. The wood Sam provides is split, dry, and awesome and the eggs were delicious. Excited to come back in the summer!

We loved camping at Riverside Farm. It was a beautiful property will plenty of room and was well maintained. The campsite was by a river which was very peaceful and was visiting everyday by some deer. We had a great time and would definitely recommend.
