We are tucked into a hidden slice of heaven on earth and situated up a ninth-of-a-mile driveway, on 2 acres with a pond, in front of an early 1800s cemetery, on the south side of 276 acres of NYS DEC White Pond Multiple Use Area, giving us the feel of 280 acres of heaven on the edge of a one-mile fresh water spring fed pond that is open to the public as a carry in-carry out recreation area in use summer and winter. We have great blue heron and eagles and otter and hawk and deer and owl and all sorts of critters and flora here with us. This is country. 53 miles north of NYC in the Croton-Harmon Watershed District. We are on the north side of Nimham Mountain, complete with its firetower to climb and see the Hudson River Valley and its 1126 acres of NYS DEC Multiple Use Area of mountain bike & equestrian & hiking trails. Some of the only petrogylphs on the east coast are a 2 minute drive and a hike from here to Hawk Rock. The Appalachian Trail & Fahnestock State Park are both 20 minutes away, as are the Taconic Parkway or Southeast MetroNorth train station, or Danbury, CT, or The Great Swamp or Thunder Ridge in Patterson, NY, or the villages of Pawling or Cold Spring, NY.

Heaven Comes to Earth
I stayed just for one night on Kim's land with a small trailer. The location is great, White Pond nearby is perfect for swimming or kayaking, the cemetery behind the house is super cool, and it's great to fall asleep to the sounds of bull frogs. :) And Kim's dog Leia is very sweet and friendly! I highly recommend this camping spot, I hope to come back and do some more kayaking!

A Perfect Escape!
We had an amazing stay with Kim! She was a fantastic and helpful host, always there for us and going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The proximity to the lake was perfect and absolutely gorgeous, we swam in it all day. The campsite was also great. We will definitely be back, thank you Kim!

Great history and nature experience
Depends on what you’re looking for! The site was very close to the house and other houses. Also, the outdoor area next to the space had a bit/lot of clutter. But if you don’t mind the clutter and the proximity to the house, then Kim’s amazing hospitality, the nearby pond trail, and the adjacent historic cemetery make this a great location for the history and nature lover. Perfect for an evening away in the camper.

Heaven Comes to Earth
I recently used Hipcamp for the first time on a car camping road trip from Georgia to Maine. I used Hipcamp to fill in the blanks for points along the way where all I needed was a place to spend the night. I want a safe place to camp that has a campsite that fits my needs hosted by a responsive but not intrusive property owner. Kim and her property certainly met those needs nicely. Kim actually met me and led me to her property as it would otherwise be a bit hard to find. The Campsite was not particularly private as it was right next to her house, but I would stay here again if I was in the area. Don’t miss the Revolutionary/Civil War era cemetery directly behind Kim’s house. It was a very interesting place to walk around a bit.
