After a successful trip with my husband a few months ago I decided to bring my sister and girlfriends. We had a blast! Great food and fireside chats. The property has WiFi and a toilet and shower. This provides a bit of civilized comfort LOL. Alex the host is incredibly gracious and helpful. We will be back

We had a great time at Happy Camp for Labor day weekend! The site is very private situated between a river and a small pond. The road is close by, but it didn't bother us, the sound of the cars driving by almost blends in with the river. Taking a lap around the small pond with the boat is a must, such cool vegetation growing below. The shower was a slow trickle of cold water, but it was better than nothing. We hiked at the never sink unique area per Alex's recommendation and it was amazing - bring bathing suits! The town is a 5 minute drive away with a couple restaurants, general store, wine and spirits. Would recommend doing full grocery shopping trip somewhere along your drive in. We would definitely come back!

Happy camp was a perfect location that felt very private while only being a very short and easy walk from the car. The heated outdoor shower was exactly what all of us wanted at the beginning of each day and made the trip so much better. Alexander was wonderful and answered a question we had within minutes of sending him a text.

Alex is a super host, he was very welcoming, made sure we have to firewood, and had a cart for us to transport our things. Camp site was clean and unique. Water is a little bit cold to swim in, but it is Crystal clear!! Really special place!

Beautiful site. It's spread out with plenty of room for our group of eight folks with five tents. It's super private, easy to access, and has plenty of little spots for privacy and contemplation. Our group is definitely considering using this site again.

Very clean campsite tucked off a two lane highway on the back of Alexander’s property. No sign of mosquitos even though theres a pond and a creek. We didn’t meet the host but he was quick to respond by text. We really didn’t need anything, the spot was as described. Don’t bring a tent that requires staking, there’s a layer of rock about an inch below the dirt. It’s clear that the spot is well cared for so if you camp here please take your trash and leave things as you found them so we can all continue to enjoy it :)

Happy Camp is indeed a “happy place”. Alex is a great host. We spent 3 nights under the stars. The shower was such a treat and added great comfort to the stay. The ability to use a toilet was also a great treat 😉. The creek was enjoyed by my dog as well as the pond. The property is filled with trees and was extremely lush. We simply loved it ❤️

This property has everything you could ever want in a camping trip. There's incredibly beautiful hiking on the property just right off the campsite, a freshwater creek just as close, and super convenient amenities. Happy camp has the perfect mix of feeling like you're in the backcountry but you also have access to a toilet, an outdoor shower, and clean drinkable water. Also, the grill grates for the firepit were clutch, as we were able to cook every meal over the fire with ease. Alex was extremely accommodating and was quick to answer whenever we needed something, whether it was more firewood or a quick fix on the solar panel. He also had some great suggestions for other hikes and food in town. Everything about this site is beautiful, and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique camping experience.

Happy Camp promises everything that's in the name. This is my second time staying here with a small group and everyone that's visited agrees that this is a special piece of land. Every amenity is thoughtfully considered, from the landscape to the shower and the lights. It's beautiful lush forest by the creek with an easy pathway to pitch your tent and get to cooking. Alex is very considerate and attentive in case you need any assistance.

We came here for my nephews’ (1 and 3 y/o) first camping trip and it was perfection. 4 adults and 2 little ones— the pond w the boat is right near the main site (beautiful and fun) and the layout is basically perfect— we hung a hammock, a clothesline, had blankets out to hang out on, all removed from the tents. Also— theres wifi but not much service so it’s perfect— those who want/need to connect, and those who don’t, don’t,
We grew up camping, and my brother remarked about how versatile the place is— you could fit a bunch of tents with all your friends, a few really spaced out like us, or go solo. Highlight: swimming in the river. It was epic.
Last but not least: best host ever. Checked in, came to help when we couldn’t figure out the outlets, and was just overall kind and wonderful. When we left, the 3 y/o cried and asked why we couldn’t stay longer—- and our dog sulked the whole way home.

Such an amazing host and we loved the campsite. You have a pond to take the boat in and watch frogs and salamanders and then there is a stream right there to play in too. Location was awesome. Can’t wait to come back! Thanks Alex for a great time!

My first Hipcamp experience will be hard to top! Alexander is an accommodating and lovely host and has made this site a little oasis. Our daughter loved going on a boat ride in the pond (BYO tiny life jacket, larger ones are provided), splashing in the creek, and the compost toilet was pretty much the pinnacle of excitement. We had plenty of room & privacy. Wouldn’t change a thing.

We had an absolutely incredible time! Our host takes impeccable care and his attention to detail is superb. We set up 5 tents and each one was well spaced. The brook is beautiful and is the perfect background noise to lull you to sleep. THANK YOU ALEX!

What a lovely oasis this site is! My husband and I and our small dog enjoyed 4 nights here. We saw so many beautiful birds all over the location as well as other cuties like chipmunks and frogs. It's not as private as some might prefer with the road nearby. But for us it was perfect. Beeeeautiful sunsets over Sandburg creek, an invigorating hike up the hill on the property, and nightly campfires made this an amazing retreat. Fall asleep under the stars with the sounds of the creek by your tent. We cherished every minute we had at Happy Camp and frequently looked at each other in awe of the place. Do not pass on this one! It's a really special place. Alexander was communicative and helpful, though we didn't need a thing while we were there because the site is well kept and stocked with firewood. Enjoy!

Our stay can be summarized in a two words: absolutely incredible! The campsite is beautifully nestled in-between a pond and bubbling brook, very well maintained, and stocked with lots of (dry!) wood. There are some cute lights that illuminate the space and made it even more cozy. There were no other campers and even though there is a road nearby, my boyfriend and I felt it was quite private and perfect for a couples weekend away. Alexander is a great host—friendly and readily available if we needed anything. Helpful tip: there is a general store nearby on the same road as the campsite should you need to replenish supplies. Overall, 10/10 and I will be recommending this campsite to my friends!

The view at the site is amazing and the solar lamps are a great addition. Very clean and private spot. Really enjoyed freshly baked sourdough bread and pasta by the host, as well as their farm eggs. The homemade food was a definite highlight.

I was extremely happy with my stay at Happy Camp! Alexander’s land is great for camping and provides the perfect mix of being very private with the comfort of not being to far removed. The land itself has several spots to camp, some more secluded others more open. Between the open views of the sky, the quaint pond next to the site and the babbling river bordering the site, the grounds couldn’t be more relaxing.
MOST IMPORTANTLY THOUGH: there are many places with beautiful land but not many places with a host as excellent as Alexander. Throughout the entire stay, he was helpful, considerate and constantly in touch.
If you are 2 people or 10 choose this spot!

This site was everything and more than we could have hoped for. It was quiet, secluded, and well kept. Alexander was extremely responsive and hands off in the best was possible. The site itself is a little ways from where you park so if you have a good bit of gear it would be advantageous to bring a cart to shuttle things back and forth, but really not a big deal. We will DEFINITLEY be back. Thanks, Alexander!

Such a pretty and peaceful little spot to camp! My boyfriend and I typically prefer to camp at more primitive sites to avoid the hubbub of a larger campground, but having a place reserved — that we knew would be private — was such an upgrade. The area is lovely; wedged between a creek and a pond, along the side of forested hill. Yes, you can hear some traffic, as you are not far from the road, but the predominant sound when you’re there is the stream. The table and string of lights was a nice touch. Even excellent stumps for sitting by the fire — which is not something you can always count on at a camp site! We were there in October so the trees were starting to change but there was still plenty of green grass on the ground. You walk a little ways from the car (just about a minute), but it’s enough to have it feel like you aren’t car camping. And yet, still the luxury of being able to put your food in the car at night. Was very easy to find, as the smily face sign points you right there; and Alexander was extremely helpful and communicative. We did have some casual walkers happen upon us one morning, which was startling, but I guess can happen anywhere that you’re camping, especially if you’re in proximity to a road. It feels so private there that it’s easy to forget you’re deeper into the woods.

The spot is quiet, secluded, and easy to find. We barely noticed the nearby road. Just a couple steps to the creek and a few minutes' drive to several public fishing access spots.
