Not a bad place to stay and host was very communicative, but not the best campsite. Its first come first serve and some of the campsites are pretty close to each other and or muddy. Its close enough to the road to hear cars throughout the day and night but it is in a very nice field (amazing fireflies everywhere the night we stayed). Bathrooms are unusable, but walmart less than 10min drive way and open until 11 is convenient. If your booking last minute its not bad just dont expect to get a good spot unless you’re early.

The property was extremely nice and everything was very easy. The fire pits were great too and the overall vibe was very respectful and relaxing. I wouldn't want to stay here for multiple nights though because the bathrooms were really disgusting. The insides were covered in grass from mowing and they smelled/looked a lot worse than an average porta potty. If the bathroom situation was even a little bit better then I'd definitely stay here much more often.

This place is genuinely so well thought out and extremely easy and absolutely worth it. As long as your children and animals are well behaved and you know how to read and follow rules, you’ll love it here. Also, for women with anxiety, the rules and instructions couldn’t have been more clear. Extremely spacious and the campsites are pretty far so we didn’t hear anyone else’s party. We will be back.

The camp site was great, detailed instructions prepared us for all the details, and we were treated to a spectacular light show with a field and tree line full of fireflies!

I got here on a rainy day in the early summer. Wally will tell you himself, unless you have a car can wade through serious mud not to risk it. But it is an incredible site— early morning fog was so beautiful.

The views are beautiful! Sites vary, some are more hidden than others, but ours was smack in the middle and was still private. Great for stargazing at night and very quiet. Super easy to get to with hiking and breweries nearby. 10/10

Overall it’s a good place, if you get there early, you are able to pick some of the best campsites, great views to overlook the Hudson Valley. We left early because of the need of convenient and clean bathroom. I was aware of this issue before booking, thought i could hang it in but couldn’t eventually. Overall I give a 4 outta 5

Pros: nice views, peaceful, close to the Gunks.
Cons: it gets very muddy when it rains - you may not be able to get in or out even with a 4WD vehicle. The toilets were unusable - no doors and seemingly not emptied for weeks.

Me and my partner loved this location, depending on which direction you come from it is an awesome drive through Minnewaska state park. The location is very accessible. Unfortunately it was raining like crazy when we went and Wally offered a credited stay to come another time, we ended up sticking with the original schedule and stayed overnight in the rain and still had a great time here! Highly recommend especially for the surrounding areas, this location is great, host included! Seeing the horses was also a cool experience, some came up to the fence when we drove by to check us in! Each site has its own unique aspect to it as well which made it fun to pick one out. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a place near Minnewaska state park.

It was exactly as described- no frills, tent camping that had mountain and horse views. I built a fire, roasted hotdogs and had the best night of sleep in my little tent. I wasn’t bothered by anyone or any animals!
The host, Wally was very informative & communicative and I hope to visit again :)

My family and I really enjoyed tent camping on Rustic Ridge horse farm. The views were fantastic and Wally was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any questions. Although another campers were close by, you still were spaced out enough to have privacy in the majority of sites. The porta pot toilets were rough but we were prepared. Great location to hiking, climbing and Mtn biking trails! We definitely will be back!

Great place! Wally was a great host, great communications, clear instructions, nice person; multiple sites to choose from all with a decent degree of visual and sonic privacy plus immediate proximity to all the nature spots in the area. What’s not to love? Will definitely be returning.

Wally's campsites are a reasonably priced and a rare find in a pricey area just over the mountain from New Paltz, NY. Campsites are fairly open in a field setting and, as described, the road in is rutted and becomes very slippery when wet. I took the recommended "Big Bertha" site directly past the porta potties as it had been raining and this site was recommended for campers without 4-wheel drive. Wally ain't kidding. Definitely follow his advice!

Great spot to stay overnight! Wally was a great host and communicated with us about everything we needed to know. Wasn't too bad finding a spot in the dark with Wally's instructions, although you might need a flashlight/headlamp to quickly check if the spot is already occupied. Woke up to the beautiful yellow glow on the trees; such a pretty spot in the fall! Sites were well-spaced so that you didn't feel like you were right next to others, but did not feel super private, as many other sites are visible. Great place to stay for a climbing trip to the Gunks. Portable toilets could use some improvements, as my husband and I had to hold the door shut while in use, even with the latches latched, which could be a bit awkward. Other than that, no complaints!

We enjoyed the campsite and had a good time although if you arrive late on a busy weekend, anything left will be very sloped. As we were leaving we were scolded for looking for sticks for our fire in the woods near the farm store

Damn Good Honey is the best Damn Good farm stand I’ve seen. Damn Good food. Love the putting green spots, combined w beautiful weather. Very cool place w some Damn Good people running this slice of heaven.
