The price was great for this spot. Its not exactly a camping spot but more of a boondocking spot. They did offer a more private location which I didnt end up going to but its fairly accessible. I stayed on their lawn at the end of their long driveway. Which is not very private however the host and her husband were great. I would definitely recommend this if you dont mind boondocking. I wont say this will be ideal for everyone though. If your truly looking for a camping spot this may not fit your needs.

The “Campsite” was impossible to access with a vehicle. The clearing pictured is not a good indication of what it looks like in actuality. Unfortunate if you were to put your tent up in the “clearing” in the woods (which is just a cluster of tree behind the ramshackle goat pen) you would have hole in the bottom of your gear. There were so many trees half cut sticking out of the ground. The solution by the host was to pitch our tent in their postage stamp front yard right next to a busy road.
The pictures are extremely misleading.
If you were literally just looking to sleep in your car in the driveway it might be an option other than that I don’t even see how this is a Hipcamp My family has been to many Hipcamps and don’t mind roughing it but we do expect not to be sitting roadside on someone’s lawn.
When we got there we couldn’t get hold of anyone even though we gave fair heads up of when we would get there. After honking our horn (we couldn’t knock on the door due to an aggressive dog) the host finally came out. He was very very nice and likable. In the end however there was no way we could stay.

We were very disappointed by this Hipcamp. Based on the pictures I thought we’d have our own site. When we got there no one was coming to meet us. We called, knocked on the door, waited, texted…nothing until I beeped our horn. We were told we could park on their (very small) front lawn about 50ft from their house, or walk all our stuff down a narrow path to set up camp. That would have been ok (we’ve done it before) but when we got down to the site it was completely overgrown with no space for any size tent. The man who finally came to meet us was nice, but this site was not what we were expecting based on the pictures we saw and the reviews we read! I wish I had thought to take pics/video, but I honestly just wanted to get out of there.

Debbie is an attentive and helpful host. Fellow Hipcampers should know that the open campsite is near a well-traveled road. You should pack some earplugs if this would keep you awake. The surrounding scenery is beautiful and you will be very close to Seneca Lake.

I actually wasn’t able to stay due to last minute shifting weather conditions (thank you hurricane season!), but leaving a review to say the host Debbie was extremely helpful in answering questions ahead of time and helping me prepare for the trip. I’d recommend to anyone considering.
