Very kind hosts, warm welcome. It is a working farm with a grassy area for your tent in the heart of the flower growing area, and access to shared bathroom in their cozy classic farmhouse.

Michael and Jan are wonderful people who make you feel like family. They immediately welcomed us and introduced us to their farm. I hope to go back one day. My sons didn't want to leave!

Michael was very helpful and communicated well before my stay. They helped me find their property easier when I was arriving after sunset by turning on their vehicle’s hazard lights. They waited for me to arrived and welcomed me in their home which is so unexpected. They even offered for me to stay in their guest bedroom. However, my planned trip is an adventure goal of a lifetime to travel across US/ Canada and car camp.
I had a peaceful night car camping at Michael’s property. I was able to parked my vehicle on their driveway which made it easier and closer to use the restroom in their home.
Michael and Jan are gracious hosts and very kind people. They’ve offered to share 3 types of home cooked soups when I arrived, which I tasted and had small bowl of each. All were very delicious - my favorite was the beef and barley, and then the leek soup - soups made with produce from their garden vegetables cannot be beat.
In the morning Jan brewed a fresh pot of coffee for me to enjoy! They really went out of their way to make me feel at home.
Michael gave me a tour of their working garden and there are hens on the property as well. Winter veggies such as kale, Swiss chard, beets and some fava beans were abundant. Michael shared some of their produce including some garlic. I got an insight on their no-till gardening approach. Michael and Jan shared their stories on how they got started hosting and they are such beautiful people with warm souls. Thank you!

Mike and Jan were some of the kindest and most generous people we have ever met. They made us breakfast with all farm grown ingredients and welcomed us into their home with open arms. Unfortunately our trip was cut short but they made the little time we did get to spend there special for us. Their hospitality is above and beyond! Thank you Mike and Jan! And Penny (the dog) too!

Exceeded all expectations!! Mike and Jan welcomed us with a delicious summer feast for dinner. They were so accommodating and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We loved hearing their stories and wish our stay could’ve been longer. Thanks for the great company, juicy peaches, morning coffee, and the perfect place to pitch a tent.

Michael and Jan welcomed us into their home for dinner and breakfast. They made a big bonfire for us as well. They have many amazing stories to share and are friendly and welcoming people. They even sent us home with homegrown garlic cloves.

Mike & Jan went out of their way to make us feel at home, like staying as the guests of friends. We had a very relaxing experience, enjoyed learning about the garden, and all the homemade/home grown food that was so generously shared. I also loved hearing and seeing a variety of birds around us. We camped underneath the big tree out back which provided some nice shade. At the time we were there (early July), there were quite a few mosquitoes coming out in late evening, but they weren't noticeable during the day or early evening. We could largely avoid them by choosing judiciously when to go in the tent! Anyway, what a fun, interesting, and friendly place to stay.

Directions were clear. We received a tour of the homestead inside and out upon arrival. The host and hostess were welcoming and shared their home grown garlic as well as allowing us to pick unlimited berries. We were able to set up our tent anywhere we chose in an area. There were no other campers and we had good space. The local area had a farmers' market that the hostess took part in and we found hiking, swimming and entertainment nearby.

We really enjoyed our stay with Mike and Jan. They invited us into their home and made us feel like family. Upon arrival, Mike showed us around their farm and treated us to some homemade cider and the berries growing on the farm. The tent site was likewise private. A big bonus were the funny chickens and their adorable dasdhund, Penny! Thank you Mike and Jan for your hospitality and kindness!

A great little spot for tent campers, over-landers or van-lifers! Michael and his wife were incredibly kind and welcoming; opening their home to me so that I might use their restroom and shower. Thank you both!!!

This was our first Hipcamp experience, and it will be hard to beat! Mike and Jan were incredible hosts! Their flower farm is beautiful and lush with lots of flowers. We loved spending time with them around the campfire and their dog Penny. Jan baked delicious cookies and cinnamon rolls for us and we enjoyed coffee with them in the morning. We will definitely be back!! Thank you Jan and Michael, it was lovely to meet you!

We had a great time at Edge if a field the Hosts were so friendly and welcoming. Their flowers were beautiful. We visited Yates Town Park and we ate at Blavk North Inn portions were hugh and food was fresh.
Recommend staying here if you are visiting Lake Ontario.

Michael and Jenn are some of the kindest people I have met. We were greeted with cold local peaches and wine they had bottles themselves. It’s a working farm, so do not expect the normal farm clutter, but it is a beautiful place.

Michael and Janet were tremendous hosts! Michael gave us a tour of the property right when we arrived and provided us with some refreshments. We got to pick and eat asparagus from their yard, which we ate again in the breakfast Michael prepared for us in the morning! They also took us to watch a gorgeous sunset over Lake Ontario. The fireflies at night put on a spectacular display.

I booked the Hipcamp at edge of meadow based on website.
We drove 2 hours to get there.
When we got there, the place looked like a junk yard.
My wife and I looked at each other like are you kidding me.
We decided not to stay there.
Very disappointed.
A waste of time and gas to get there.
Never again.

What a great night at “Edge of the Field”. Our gracious hosts, Jan & Mike, were more than spectacular. We were only able to stay for one night, but we treated like lifelong friends. Upon arrival they greeted our children with excitement and open arms. They showed them their farm animals right away and took the time to teach them some about each of them. We were given cold refreshments right away and even was able to spend a lovely evening at a local establishment together. The next morning we were invited for fresh (and delicious) breakfast as well as a hot pot of coffee.
This was our first HipCamp experience and it will be a tough one to top. Thank you Mike & Jan for a lovely stay.

Michael's place is a very active small farm with all of the sights, sounds and smells that go along with an active farm. We found it to be interesting and educational and definitely would stay here again.
