All garbage is to be removed and placed in the dumpster at the entrance of the campground. Cherry creek campground does offer guided, horseback riding by appointment. I would return, but needs some work

I was told the initial problem was that Hipcamp said the site was available, but Cherry Creek says it wasn’t but they tried to accommodate me instead of giving me a refund. I agreed because we were only one day from arrival. For two nights it wasn’t terrible, but wasn’t the best. The site was not level left to right, so I had to be careful walking, but managed just fine. I was able to tap into someone else’s power and had water available as well. So my main problem was the facilities on the grounds, nothing really to do with this accommodation they made for me the last minute. The bathrooms were in need of a serious upgrade. The sinks were rusty, the toilet seat was loose, the door would not close properly, the shower head needs replacement. All this is not terrible and definitely functional but definitely could use some work. All in all it was ok, not great. I probably won’t return, but I’m not local to New York either. Would I return, yes if I was on the level site, but the facilities really do need some attention.

We loved the campsite! It was private and away from the rest of the camp, and I felt like I had my own slices of home. Owner was very kind and showed us to our space and even brought us some firewood for our campfire. Very quiet and well maintained. We would highly recommend it!
