Clear Life Cabin, Livingston Manor
We loved glamping at Livingston manor. It was too cold for camping so our family of four slept in the cabin, which even if it’s small, it kept us warm and cozy for the night. The views of the site are beautiful. We decided not to hike (cold and rainy),, so instead, we spent some time in the town. Their organic grocery store and kitchen has amazing plant based food selection, and the hot chocolate is a must try. Great experience! Thank you Sam and Fred.

Beautiful, simple retreat
We came in on a snowy day in mid-November and this little gem of a cabin was perfect. It was toasty warm and offered beautiful views of the snowy fields under the moonlight. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for an easy, private, quiet retreat.

A wonderful solo getaway! The cabin truly is cozy and womb like. Came late Oct and was not cold at all because the wood burning stove is so effective. Thank you!

It was great staying at Camp Haven. Smooth check in process and campsite setup had a fire pit, picnic table, and wood chip tent spot. Exactly as described! Not to mention it was so quiet and peaceful on the property and we were visited by the cutest and friendliest black and white cat. Would love to come back in summertime!

The weather changed in the evening the day we arrived and we were so worrying how we gonna survive the stormy night… but the owner is so warmhearted and set up the stove in the tent for us already, which greatly helped us go through the rough weather. They are very thoughtful and many thanks!

Beautiful & Cozy Secluded Campsite
This place is great, we will certainly be back. The hosts were very kind and let you take your own space as much as you'd like. They have nice hiking paths and are quite secluded from any highways/local noise. Very fair price for the amount of wood they give you, and they include some stuff to get it going as well. The tent is raised off the ground on a nice deck with two chairs on the front, the stove in the tent warms it up in about 10 minutes TOPS. Veryy cozy once you get the bed setup and the fire roaring! Just bring your food, drink, and bedding and you are set for a great time here. Their farm operation on site is VERY interesting and educational, be sure to ask for the tour to check out the facility! Additionally, make sure you get some food from their store in town, the Haven Food Farmacy, everything my girlfriend and I had was absolutely delicious!!

A peaceful and scenic stay
I spent about a day and a half in the cabin, it may not be for everyone but it was definitely much needed for me. I found the space very warm and inviting especially in the early morning. Coming from near JFK the sounds of nature and the leaves rustling in the wind were very welcome. They made sure I had whatever I needed and getting to spend time there allowed for much simpler living and headspace. The area itself was also gorgeous especially given the fall colors coming in, will defintely keep them in mind as an inexpensive getaway option or even for volunteering opportunties in the future! Thank you guys!

10/10 Highly recommend!
I will tell my friends about this place, I’ll recommend it to my whole family even and hopefully book a bunch of sites at Camp Haven. Everyone was lovely, meadow view was perfect and the clear skies made for great star gazing (saw many shooting stars too)! My car wouldn’t start before we left town so I called and someone came to help minutes later. Thank you so much everyone!

It is a beautiful place! The sites are within view of each other in fields, with some tree cover available. We had wonderful fires and nice, flat spots for the tent. It was helpful to be able to buy water and wood there as well. Thanks for a nice stay!

A peaceful hilly experience
Camp Haven is a beautiful piece of property with sites on two meadows nestled among forested hills. There is one small cabin and a tentrr tent available as well, the latter of which we ended up staying in due to impending rain. It was so cozy and we slept so well to the sound of the rain and the wind! The sites are all well taken care of and our host, Lester, was very communicative and friendly. It was very interesting getting a tour of the property and learning about how the group of people living there are crafting a life intentionally oriented to living with a light footprint on the planet. The towns of Livingston Manor and Liberty are conveniently nearby (by rural standards) and we were able to find some hiking trails relatively close by as well.

absolutely relaxing and peaceful:)
It was so completely relaxing. The most relaxed ive been all summer long. my friends and I had a wonderful time and at night, if you look up at the sky on a clear night you can see the milky way. super peaceful and amazing. we arrived on a thursday and it was super calm, relaxing and we were the only ones there. weekend was a little busier but the camp sites were so spread apart to the point where it didnt matter. we had our own area and were decently far away from everyone else. The host Sam was super super nice and helpful as well as the rest of the volunteers. My friends and I want to make this a yearly trip to this spot!! Highly recommend this site to anyone looking t relax, unplug and have an amazing time.

Beautiful Sunset Spot
Terrific spot !!spent an overnight at Camp Haven Meadow Retreat From 7/28 till 7/29 .There were 6 of us 4 adults and Two Elementary aged Children .Everything was exactly as advertised on Hipcamp .A volunteer named Lestor greeted us and offered us his warmest hospitality we bought two bundles of dry firewood he showed me a bit around geodome and organic garden. The site is very private and great for car camping at this time of year blueberry bushes chock full of blueberries everywhere .Sunset view was perfect from this site .We took a little hike down the " stream trail " did not reach stream but it was nice woodland trail with ferns mosses and bird life .Tent was super dry no moldy wet smell super clean .We pitched a 4 person tent on area situated right next to " glamp " tent .Outstanding Host also to Sam who recommended a " quiet " paddle at Lake Waneta which we did just prior to arriving at Camp it is short car ride from Haven retreat to the lake .All in all 5 stars beautifully situated spot and could be ideal for young and older campers ! .Many Thanks to Sam and Lestor !

My wife and I are normally really big into backcountry backpacking. Because she’s currently six months pregnant, we had to pause our usual trips, and we really missed the outdoors and connecting with nature. As I was browsing potential camping spots in the Catskills I stumbled across Hipcamp and Camp Haven. We are both into sustainability, and reading their mission and values had us sold. The directions were super easy to follow and were well maintained. I have a low profile sports car, so if I was able to make it, just about about any car will be fine. Les was a fantastic host. We arrived a little later than planned but he showed us around the different spots and let us pick where we wanted to set up camp. There is ample parking by the sites and they are well spaced out. We had another couple in the campsite next to us, which even still, was at least 200 feet away if not more. We could see their car but could only barely see their tent itself, so there was definitely a sense of privacy. They also had more secluded options. To get to the two furthest ones you would need to park at a lot and walk a bit to get to but they looked nice. Each site had a bed with wood chips you could place your tent on. They also had a fire ring, a picnic table, and a water bucket that was full to put out fires with. We bought two bundles of wood, which were a good size (large banana crate full). Because we got in late and it rained the next day we didn’t get to explore as much as we otherwise would have. We did take a short trail (1/2 mile both ways) to walk to a small creek which was nice. Overall we had a great time and plan on coming back. The one thing to note, if you come here please keep in mind you are there to experience nature. As such, you need to pack away all food/trash and scented objects (think deodorant) into the car prior to going to bed. The Catskills has the highest density of black bears in NY. They are attracted to food and will visit if you keep it outside in a easy to get to spot (as our neighbors found out). The good news is that black bears are also very timid, so making loud noises such as ‘hey bear’ will scare them off. Luckily, you can easily avoid unwanted guest by simply putting things away. Not only will this keep you safe and happy, but is good for the bears so they don’t become reliant on humans for food. In summary, if you are looking to get away and not be surrounding by people, you’ve come to the right spot. We fully plan on returning sometime.
