Welcome to Camp Handsome Hollow! Celebrate family, fun and friends in the perfect location for a memorable and relaxing visit! The Camp is built from the heart, with thoughtful and convenient amenities, designed for comfortable group gatherings. Enjoy the open and dynamic space, stroll the nature trail, listen to the babbling stream and lounge around the pond. Breathe fresh mountain air while cooking outdoors in the amazing kitchen. Relax under the pavilion with ambient lighting. Play horseshoes or yard games while listening to Bluetooth surround sound. Leisurely recreate on site or nearby, while enjoying nature and various activities. Camp Handsome Hollow is designed with your group in mind! It has plenty of space, designated for only one group at a time, minimum 6 guests, maximum 25 guests, 5 years and under free. Furry friends are welcome. We are open the first weekend in June, thru the end of October (Thursday-Monday). To assist with an easy and enjoyable visit, the camp has bountiful amenities. Prep and prepare delicious meals, in a stocked, covered, comfortable and lit (led) outdoor kitchen. Enjoy meal prep with our various, bulk cast iron cookware and season with an array of available spices. Cook over an open flame on the elongated wood fired grill. Grill on one or two of our commercial grade charcoal grills. Fuel is easy with our self-serve firewood for purchase or bring your own charcoal. Rent a burner, fryer, crab pot or wok included with propane, to experiment and create a memorable meal. Easily access cold food and drinks with a full-size refrigerator, in the nearby pavilion. Safely store supplies with plenty of ample dry shelving. Making coffee for your group is easy, using our fresh, well water and bulk 15 cup coffee maker. Conveniently, power rice cookers and crock pots at our small appliance station. Enjoy meals and quality time utilizing multiple areas, such as our wrap around bench, picnic tables, and lean to area. Afterwards, dishes are easy, including late night clean up with our lighted, double sink dishwashing and drying area. Listen and enjoy your playlists with the Pyle Bluetooth surround system while playing fun yard games or shoot some hoops (bring your own ball). Access our unique bathhouse and clean, interesting outhouse. Build a campfire, whenever you like in our firepit with self-serve firewood. In the evenings, illuminate a portion of the camp with the horseshoe pit overhead lights. Star gazing is amazing with dim lighting or bring a telescope. The activities and adventure continue offsite and nearby from natural areas and a distillery to outdoor Mexican food with a view. Enjoy breathtaking mountain and country views while strolling along Shea and Klondike Road. View functional stick and stone art or experience a tour, onsite with #9's Polish Designs (the host), upon request/reservation. Offsite and for easy water recreation, swim, fish or relax on the river rock beach, at the East Branch River Access, only 8 minutes away from camp. Enjoy a river trip, and leisurely float on the river. Soaring Eagle, less than 15 minutes away, provides the necessities, kayaks, tubes, rafts and canoes, plus transportation. Beyond the river and just a few minutes away, Rock Valley Spirits, offers distillery tours/tastings/cocktails with scenic outdoor views and seating. Grab a bite to eat at Salsa Shack, less than 10 minutes away, while gazing at the lush greenery, mountain views and beaver pond. Afterwards, work off the meal, with an amazing and scenic hike, or walking trails. The famous Jensen Ledges and Patridge Walking Trail are a short drive away. On the way back to camp take a quick dip at the Lordville River Access, stop at the Equinunk General Store or grab some ice cream at The Cow Lick. Besides the plethora of possibilities, other amenities are included with your stay. Our campground is designed for tent, car, van, pop-ups, small RV (Class B) along with small travel trailers. Unfortunately, we don't have hook ups of any kind.

Stay to the left and drive up the short, and gentle incline (no 4x4 needed). Camp and park where you like, it's free range.

Our campground is designed for tent, car, van, pop-ups, small RV (Class B) along with small travel trailers. Unfortunately, we don't have hook ups of any kind.

The main shared areas of the camp have electricity. However, we don't have specific hook ups for individual tenting/camping areas and camp vehicles.

Included with your visit is a fresh 7 or 14 gallon, refillable container of room/outside temperature, well water for drinking, cooking and various beverages. Bring ice/glasses/water bottles if you prefer chilled drinking water. Unfortunately, we don't have site specific water hook ups.
No sewage hookup
Unfortunately, we don't have sewage access or hook ups.
No TV hookup
Enjoy the peepers, and nature sight/sounds instead. :)

Firewood provided, firepit, private. Fire pit on site. Plenty of self-serve, easily accessible firewood (multiple $10 per cubby bins, on site with locked payment box) for open flame cooking and campfires.
Toilet available
Pit toilet. Clean and interesting outhouse located on premise. Great reading material (interior of outhouse) and don't forget to leave your mark (signature) on the wall!
Pets allowed
Off leash. Pets are welcome. Standard procedures apply for waste removal, dispose of pet waste solids in fire pit.
Potable water available
Bottled water or jugs. Included with your visit is a fresh 7 or 14 gallon, refillable container of room/outside temperature, well water for drinking, cooking and various beverages. Bring ice/glasses/water bottles if you prefer chilled drinking water.
Showers available
Hot water . Enclosed, single stall, clean outdoor shower (attached to bathhouse), with unlimited hot water and private changing area.
Bins available
Compost bin, recycling bin, trash bin. We respect nature, and limit waste by reducing, reusing, recycling or donating if possible.
Cooking equipment present
Grill over firepit, private, fridge, freezer, cookware, cooking utensils, cutlery, basic seasoning and oils, sink or other dishwashing station. Wood fired, oversized grill and 2 large industrial charcoal grills (bring your own charcoal). A full size refrigerator/freezer is easily accessible and located nearby under the pavilion. A small appliance area for powering rice cookers, crock pot, etc. is also located under the pavilion, with a 15 cup large/urn coffee maker (bring your own coffee, no filters required). Rent a burner, fryer, crab pot or wok included with propane, to experiment and create a memorable meal, $5/day.
Picnic table present
Multiple, moveable, composite picnic tables located under the pavilion. A wooden picnic table with umbrella is located next to the lean to. Feel free to move picnic tables to accommodate your needs. Kindly, return picnic tables to original location upon departure.

No wifi and limited, intermittent cell service (possibly 0, 1 or 2 bars), depending on phone, carrier and camp location. A VOIP phone/intercom is stationed in the kitchen for emergencies.

Camp Handsome Hollow
I cannot recommend this place enough! From before we even booked, Lance and Roberta were incredibly responsive, answered all of our questions quickly, and were very accommodating to our group's needs. From the moment we arrived, they were friendly, welcoming, and truly made us feel at home. They gave us a tour of the property and it was amazing to see everything he built himself. From the bathhouse and outhouse to the outdoor kitchen and covered dining area, every detail was thoughtfully designed and well maintained. Roberta's handbook with local recommendations was a great touch, and we loved that they have a homestead with fresh vegetables available for tours and purchase. Our group of 12 adults, a baby, an RV, and multiple tents had more than enough space. Whether you're coming with family or friends, this is the perfect mix of camping and glamping. The outdoor shower with unlimited hot water was fantastic. Everything was exceptionally clean, organized, and built with care. The creek on the property is beautiful, and there's plenty to do nearby, including hiking. We had an amazing weekend and will absolutely be back. Thank you, Lance and Roberta, for creating such a special place and for your incredible hospitality!

We had a blast at Handsome Hollow. The outdoor kitchen, outhouse and pavilion with a refrigerator and access to electricity are a nice touch. For someone looking for a mix between traditional camping and glamping, this is a great option.

Our 5th annual visit proved why we keep coming back. From the immaculately kept grounds to the superb amenities, Camp Handsome Hollow is the perfect spot, and each return provides some advancement that makes it more perfect. Our hosts are gracious, supportive, and well attentive to any needs. I would recommend this spot to anyone and everyone!

Camp Handsome Hollow
Lance and Reberta really have an amazing place here. From the clean showers, amazing kitchen set up, out house, and no to mention surround sound this place has it all. As soon as we got the camp sit Reberta met us and gave us a tour her property and offered anything we needed to make sure we are comfortable. Another plus, is that fact that the fire pit is huge which allowed us to really make a nice big fire for the chillier nights we were there. We will definitely be coming back next year and will make it a priority to but this campsite from here on out! If you have any second thoughts do not hesitate!!!!

Camp Handsome Hollow
This was our first visit to this campsite and it definitely won’t be our last. Lance and Roberta have managed to create a perfect spot for a group of friends and family to camp. Between the star gazing at night and the river near by to swim and fish, it made for an incredible weekend. The site is very well maintained and clean as is the bathroom. Be sure to read through Roberta’s handbook for the site and activities in the surrounding area. It’s extremely thorough and helpful!

We had an awesome weekend at Lance and Roberta's place! They were amazing hosts and helped a bunch of new campers get set up and ready to enjoy the weekend. The property was above and beyond what we expected. The land is beautiful and the added projects on the property enhance the experience. We’re already looking forward to coming back and checking out what new projects come next. Highly recommend!

Camp Handsome Hollow
Everything was so well thought out. The fully equipped outdoor kitchen, all of the places around the property to sit and hang out, speakers all around, plenty of space to stay dry during a rainstorm. It was relaxed and fun. The kids loved catching frogs in the pond and even the outdoor shower was great with plenty of hot water. We will definitely be back!

I don't often — or ever, really — leave reviews but I just had to this time around. This property is absolutely fantastic — 10/10. We came up for a bachelor party. It was impressive with how thoughtful, well-maintained, and comfortable the property was. A big open lawn for games, a mind-blowing outside kitchen set-up with a mega grill for ambitious cook-outs, plenty of shaded camping spots to stay out of the sun. Just really everything we could've asked for — and the entire property is wired up with speakers so you can listen to tunes while you relax. Even the outdoor shower was killer! Can't wait to come back soon!

This being the 3rd season coming to Camp Handsome Hollow, as always, from the moment I arrive, I was blown away by the beautiful surroundings and welcoming atmosphere. The campground itself was well-maintained and had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay for our group. Roberta and Lance are incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. They greeted us and provided helpful tips for exploring the area. It truly felt like they genuinely cared about our experience. The site is spacious and yet offered a great level of privacy and intimacy. We loved waking up to the sounds of nature and being surrounded by breathtaking views. The peacefulness of the campground made it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Another aspect that impressed me was the cleanliness of the site and amenities. The outhouse is cute and the whole gang enjoyed using the outdoor shower. The outdoor kitchen is absolutely amazing! It has all the cooking accessories to cook up a feast for an army. And though it rained most of our weekend, the covered dining area and covered kitchen kept us dry and protected. We had a wonderful time at Lance and Roberta's site! They have certainly put a lot of thought into making it an enjoyable place for people (and pets) to relax, have fun, and experience nature. There are so many great "amenities" that make your stay comfortable, but without taking away from a true camping feel. Lance and Roberta were great hosts who made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back next year!

Our group absolutely loved every inch of the property! We had a fantastic time hanging out in each area throughout the weekend. The hosts are very nice and we were really able to let loose and be ourselves. Having amenities makes camping much more enjoyable with a group. Having the fridge was great! We loved the Bluetooth surround sound! If you get the chance, check out the artistry of the vase Lance made for the kitchen! We all loved it! Lol we will definitely be back! Thanks Roberta and Lance!

Camp Handsome Hollow
The site has everything you need. About 3 acres of space, Cooking area, covered eating area, refrigerator, Bluetooth speakers throughout area, great bathhouse and CLEANEST outhouse ever! The host were kind and helpful for anything you needed and gave good local things to do. Def check out the whiskey distillery only 5 min away. We would recommend even non campers to try this out. Our group already wants to go back.

We had an awesome time at Camp Handsome Hollow! We typically gravitate toward primitive campsites, so we really appreciated the conveniences offered at Lance and Roberta’s. We especially loved the self-serve firewood, running water for hygiene tasks, and refrigerator to keep drinks cold. AND the outhouse was super clean, complete with a light and hand sanitizer! The site is close to the house but feels very secluded, and it was suuuuper quiet. Lance and Roberta were wonderful hosts, very friendly, chill, and responsive. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Camp Handsome Hollow to anyone! :)

Camp Handsome Hollow
This property is the most equipt campsite ever! Closer to a luxury glamping experience, some of the highlights are the hot outdoor shower, sparkling clean outhouse, and electric outlets with a refrigerator. You will not have to bring anything coming here because they have it all! The hosts are warm and welcoming, thank you for sharing your beautiful property. Note that this listing is 5 miles (5-10 mins drive) from the river access, I made the mistake of thinking this site is right by the river because of the first photo listed. Once you drive to the access point it is the most gorgeous place to hang out and do river activities. We ended up spending most of our time there.

This place is great and Lance and Roberta go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. For example, It was unseasonably cold and they brought some extra blankets for us city folk. If you like to cook, this place is as good as it gets Pros -amazing cooking setup -picture perfect scenery -hot shower -plenty of space for kids to play -great fire pit -ample space for large gatherings -well maintained bathroom -everything is clean -plenty of firewood -fridge and freezer -great communication Cons -none

Camp Handsome Hollow
Lance and Roberta’s camp was awesome. It is well-stocked and a pleasure to go camping on the land. They had enough kitchen utensils and pots and pans. We nearly didn’t have had to use our own. Wash basin for dishes and a hot shower. But we still felt like camping in the outdoors. The grills are perfect for wood or charcoal fires. We had enough space for four or five adults cooking at the same time. Wood on premises is super convenient and well worth the small price to pay Lance did a good job having lighting so we can play games at night and keep the pathways lit and safe The outhouse was super clean and everybody was impressed The river right down the road was gorgeous and we sat for hours at fishs eddy. See you next year

Thank you so much to Lance + Roberta for offering up your space to my friends and I for the weekend. It's clear that a lot of time, effort and care went into curating a well kept camping space. The campgrounds are spacious and have room for many tents/people to camp comfortably. The amenities are plenty - between the kitchen, washroom, pavilion and lean-to there isn't too much you need to bring with you. All of the spaces were very clean and comfortable and there is plenty of room if it rains to escape the elements. We will definitely be returning in the future, but next time with more of our friends. This place is too good not to share. I wish we had some more time to explore the area, but the river access is a must. It's such.a beautiful spot to kick back, have a few drinks and relax. Until next time!

Perfect Upstate NY Getaway.
Camp Handsome Hollow
We had an absolutely lovely time here. The place offers plenty of room to set up multiple campsites. The property is beautiful and in a quiet area. You'll be able to see all the stars and the galaxy on a clear night. The kitchen set up is amazing and a great dining area that is protected from inclement weather. The fire pit is large and plenty of fire wood is available. The shower/ changing house is a great amenity and the outhouse was clean and stays odor free. Roberta and Lance were great hosts, They came to greet us and bid us farewell, provided us plenty of information to ensure our stay there was perfect. Plenty of things to do close by. Local watering hole is nearby to play or fish on the river, a great distellery minutes away and Callicoon (nearby town) has plenty to enjoy. Will definitely be back here regularly.

Perfect for a large group!

We had an incredible time at Handsome Hollow!! It was the absolute perfect campground for our large group. Lance and Roberta were fabulous hosts always available and very in tune with the needs of our group. As a pro tip bring cash so that you can buy some of Roberta's homemade garlic chutney!! We can't wait to stay again next year!

Camp Handsome Hollow
This was the third annual trip we have made to Camp Handsome Hollow. Every year we bring new guests and they are repeatedly blown away with the amenities as well as the exceptional hosting Lance and Roberta provide. A trip to Handsome Hollow has become a staple of our families summers plans and all of our guests are asking “when can we do this again?” Would definitely recommend this site!
