Great easy instructions to find the campsites, and well equipped to make a camping trip hassle free! The platforms were great for a dry place to set up a tent!

The campsite was perfect. Extremely quiet, beautiful, and comfortable. It was a little inconvenient to park so far from the site, but I understand why it is how it is, and Anna provided a wagon for bringing our gear to the site. The surrounding area of West Shokan and Woodstock are so beautiful and this was the perfect way to spend a weekend exploring.

Very much all you would need on beautiful land that's convenient to kingston, peekamoose, the reservoir, etc. we loved hearing the coyotes echo through the mountains.

Camp Cricket was a great spot for our camping getaway trip near the reservoir! We visited Belleayre Beach, hiked Overlook Mountain, grabbed coffee in Woodstock and stop at Minnewaska Lake. Camp Cricket was at the perfect location! Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at camp cricket! The site was beautiful and the tent base was very nice to have. It’s a short walk to the parking area and the provided wagon was very helpful. They offer plenty of fire wood which was also a great addition. Would 100% camp here again! We brought bikes to bike around the reservoir and also took a short drive to Woodstock!

I was nervous at first about booking with Hipcamp, but now that I have tried it I would absolutely stay here again. Communication with Anna was so easy, we were able to book the day of with no issue and the place was really easy to find. Unlike typical state campgrounds, there was no annoying strict check-in time, no risk of losing my reservation, and only had one neighbor. The site is very private with a great view of the moon over the Catskills at night. If you are looking for a peaceful campsite to stay a night or two that you can have mostly to yourself, consider Camp Cricket.

Campsite was as listed. Short walk down a gated roadway, large tent platform, outhouse, and very private. Close to alot of hiking and biking. There were a lot of ticks as others have mentioned. It was nice but maybe not the tidiest site. Weeds were a bit overgrown and the site had a lot of old rotting firewood. All in all though it worked for us and got us camping near the Catskills when all the state parks were booked.

We loved tent camping at Camp Cricket! The directions were clear, a cart was provided to bring camping equipment to the site, and the large tent platform provided a clear and comfortable place to pitch our tent. The camp sites are far enough back from the road that the noise disturbance is minimal.

The campsite is a nice platform with a picnic table that had a beautiful mountain view. Great locations all around the site to visit. I thought the other reviews were being dramatic about ticks but unfortunately just sitting at the picnic table we’d find 10+ ticks on us a day. Privacy was much less than expected as the other site has to walk by you to get to theirs. All the guests we encountered were friendly and to themselves. The bathroom that both sites share is right next to the forest site which also impedes privacy. The water/grey water situation wasnt the best but there was a bathroom and trash. The cart to move things to the camp was very helpful and the 1-2 minute walk to site is accurate.

Huge tent platform, fully clears above making it a beautiful view of the sky. Apple Maps has slightly inaccurate directions, so use google maps! Another tent site nearby and surrounded by another few houses. Thanks a lot for the campsite!!

This campsite was so relaxing and beautiful, we got there on a day it was raining all day and was pretty muddy around the site but we made it work. Hearing all the different kinds of birds was so cool. Definitely thankful that they offer a wagon to help bring your stuff from the car to site. I would definitely come back!

Loved camping at the stargazing platform site. Great privacy and had all the things we needed - picnic table and fire pit with grate for a stove. Site was very spacious and platform made it very easy to set up our tent. Our site was a short walk from the shared bathroom and parking. There was noticeable poison ivy on the outer skirts of the walkway to the bathroom and by the firewood but easy enough to avoid. Might be a little harder if you are bringing a dog but that’s something to expect camping in the wilderness anywhere. Campsite was also great because we were close to town and the reservoir so we could leave during the day and enjoy the surroundings. Really loved the community at Olive’s Country Store and Cafe! The only issue we had was arriving around 5pm the sun is blinding and we missed the blue gate to turn into for parking, but once we turned around it was easy to find. Very grateful for the set up that was provided!!!

Really enjoyed the serene and beautiful environment at this site. We ran into Anna as she was checking that that the bathroom wasn't ransacked by racoons (it wasn't) and she was very kind, telling us to let her know if we needed anything. The bathroom was very luxurious compared to others I've used at similar campsites. The platform is large and we had plenty of room to set our teepee up. The provided firewood was a nice touch, just make sure to take from under the tarp otherwise the wood is damp and doesn't make for a good fire. Lots of ticks and poison ivy as previous reviews said, we used tick spray and checked ourselves a few times, throwing the buggers off and we were fine. We heard lots of neat animal noises throughout the night and went on stunning hikes in the nearby area. Cute breweries and even the world's largest kaleidoscope only 20 mins away.

Everything was really well maintained and advertised exactly in the descriptions and photos. I had some trouble getting in contact with the host with a question but it was a non issue because we eventually figured out our problem. Either way, we would surely be back and invite our friends as well. Thanks for having us

I loved camping on Anna’s land, it was everything I needed: I haven’t seen stars that clear in a while and it was beyond refreshing, on top of that it was so so quiet and peaceful aside from nature sounds. The host was incredibly communicative and overall wonderful. Loved this experience and very grateful.

Nice spot for camping! Had a lot of fun here. Ask Anna to borrow the wagon if you have more than one or two loads of stuff… she’s very nice and it makes transport easier! Definitely would return!

Lovely large platform tent space. Private, clean spaces, quiet spot. I would definitely return. Everything is well described in the listing. Fire pit is great for cooking. The poison ivy is exaggerated in other reviews. The large paths to sites and bathroom are clear of it.

Amazing camp location and wonderful host! The area was full of red squirrels, one of my favorite animals, and being late June, the fireflies were an incredible spectacle. So much so I didn’t make a campfire. Incredible views and so peaceful. Will be back!

This is such a beautiful piece of land that felt very private thanks to lush plants and open land. The facilities were very clean and well kept, and it was easy to communicate about getting in and out. Wish we could have spent more time there!

The site was much closer to houses than expected. Many ticks around the campsite. Outhouse/Toilet seemed near capacity. Yurt and shower shown in pictures are no longer available. A bear box would be a nice addition, as we spotted a black bear ~3 min drive from the site.

Nice private campsite away from the road and other people. A little bit of a walk if you’re car camping with coolers and more than bare essentials. Little bit of hassle but not a deal breaker. It’s a nice quiet/private spot. Only downside is there is no shade at this site. Gets hot. Otherwise recommended.
